We bought and completely renovated this guest house in 2012. We fell in love with the location and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! The property is amazing! To reach the house, you drive one mile through the woods via the former Hucklebush Rail Line that operated between the 1870's and 1940's-- bringing crops from surrounding farms to market. The guest house is perched on a hill in the woods above a creek that flows below one of the only remaining rail trestles. It's history and it's picturesque! The creek joins one of the best trout rivers in the Hudson Valley-- the Roeliff Jansen Kill (Roe Jan)-- at the northwest corner of the property. You can relax by the Roe Jan, go trout fishing, or go tubing in summer.
...Or enjoy being in the house. We’ve done it up with designer furniture and great details. All the basics are provided (linens, towels, etc) and the kitchen is well-equipped. Relax in the hot tub or seating area behind the house while listening to the creek below. Enjoy dinner or a bottle of wine outside in spring, summer, and fall. Or... enjoy the great restaurants, antiquing, and outdoor activities in the area. For the restless-- there is a full size air hockey table in the two car garage on the other side of the property.
The house is designed to be open with large windows overlooking the woods. Feel like you are outside while being in the comfort of a newly renovated and tastefully decorated home.
For an additional fee, a second couple can stay in the detached 200 square foot studio 100 feet from the house. This studio has heat and electric, but no bathroom or running water. Occupants share with those sleeping in the main guest house -- not for the small bladdered!

Excellent Stay! Very Private!
First is a big thanks to Eric for the warm invite, goodies and champagne (He was tipped off by the property manager that my fiance’ and I got married)! Second... We loved the place! The way the home is situated on the property, you get 92% use of the windows without feeling like someone can look in. The decor is excellent. The area is excellent as well. You get armed with great places to go to in the area, restaurants, antique shops, grocery stores etc. from the property manager’s list. She has excellent taste with straight-forward commentary of facts about the places to go and/or avoid. I can’t say enough great things. Absolutely worth the money and more!
charming little cottage in lovely setting
We really enjoyed our stay in this charming little cottage, and we'll definitely rent again if we're in the area. It's a bit tricky to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, but Jackie's directions were very clear and helpful! The cottage has a woodsy view out toward the stream, and the furnishings are very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub even in chilly November weather, and took nice walks on the local roads. The renovation is so nicely done - floors, kitchen, bathroom. Jackie provides pages of really helpful information and suggestions. We highly recommend this rental!
Cozy guest house in Red Hook
Nicely designed guest house with all the kitchen items necessary on hand and all toiletries for the bathroom.
Bed was very hard and tough on my back.
Lots of privacy at end of long dirt road, but close to downtown Red Hook and Rhinebeck.
Property manager responsed quickly to request to turn heat up.
Owners stopped by to say hi and show us around.
Perfect weekend getaway
My wife and I were looking for someplace quiet to getaway for the weekend and this location went above and beyond our expectations! The home has amazing decor, the hot tub was perfect and our dog felt right at home too. The property is secluded but close to stores, farmers markets, and surrounding towns. We will definitely come back and recommend the property.
Perfect! Peaceful! Stylish! Comfortable!
So quiet and remote. Kitchen well appointed, everything one needs. Hot tub under the stars was great. Owners were super nice. We will return.
Perfect Labor Day Stay
Couldn't have asked for a better stay. The property was in great condition, the BBQ and hot tub worked as expected. The location is wonderful - secluded, but not too far from some nice small towns (Red Hook and Rhinebeck). Would definitely stay again.
Pick Your Own Fruit Farms, Historic Hudson River Estates, Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College.
