Carter offering a panoramic view of the lake. Best views are during fall and winter. You will have access to 40 acres to hike and enjoy nature. There are no trails as this property is untamed. Bring your fishing poles as the lake is just down the hill. Lake Carter is stocked with largemouth bass, crappie and catfish. The wildlife you could see are deer, racoons, possums, rabbits, coyotes and large assortment of birds.

Nearby attractions are downtown Bowie with thrift shops, second-hand resale stores, restaurants, and on some weekends Second Mondays (large flea market). Allsup convenience store with gas and snacks is nearby as is a local Walmart for the needs you may have forgotten. Bowie Acres is situated one hour from Fort Worth where you can visit the big city but retreat at night to a quiet and secluded rest home. If you are looking for a big city, feel with a small-town appeal then Wichita Falls Texas is 40 minutes from Bowie Acres.

The Bowie Horse and Livestock sale barn is 8.5 miles from the property. There is room for a livestock trailer here at Bowie Acres. There is an area to keep your horses in until your departure.
