Lakewood Lodge was great for a peaceful getaway. We (2 couples) found the space to be clean and with all the amenities as advertised. The host, Michelle provided great recommendations for nearby restaurants, breweries, and wineries. She was also very communicative about a temporary road issue and provided easy instructions for an alternate route to access the house. The location was good for us being in town to attend a Virginia Tech football game.

Wonderful Stay

Loved the quiet and homey cabin. Everything was great - all the amenities were great. We especially loved the wrap around porch.

Beautiful Place to stay!

Beautiful inside and out! Quiet peaceful place. Has everything you need, and my girls loved the big bath tub! The lake is amazing, will have to come back when it’s warmer. Definitely a place to stay even just for the weekend!

Beautiful, clean cabin.

This cabin is perfect. It was very clean and furnished with everything we could possibly need. The property is so peaceful and beautiful and communication with the property manager was great. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Lakewood Lodge!

Lakewood Lodge is the perfect getaway. They cabin was spotless and so comfy! All essentials were provided and Michelle was great to deal with. We especially loved sitting out on the deck in the evenings watching the deer and fireflies. I highly recommend!!

A beautiful cabin in a quiet area. Great for getting away while also having an enjoyable and beautiful drive to Blacksburg for football weekend. Great for our teen to have an upstairs with private bedroom and bath. Kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the spacious covered front porch while watching the deer in the yard.

Virginia Tech stay

We enjoyed our trip! The house was perfect! We rented a boat and spent a day on the lake. We also went to Draper’s Mercantile. Everything was wonderful.

Very pretty property. Comfortable for 4 adults. Access to the dock was a little strange, but it was lovely to sit out there.Great communication with property manager. She dealt with our one little issue immediately and we were very grateful for that.

Nice Weekend Away

This home is great for a peaceful get-away. With the exception of one other home nearby, it's almost on its own, so it's quiet enough to enjoy the sounds of nature. A short drive took us down through a neighborhood to sit by the lake. Back at the house, it was nice to end evenings watching the bright stars from the porch. Sherry was very responsive and friendly when we had questions.

As advertised.

This place was very cute and just as the pictures showed. Our only critique was the amount of notes pinned to everything in the house made it feel a bit stuffy. "Don't do this, don't do that" kind of thing. "Make sure you leave money if you use our fire wood or we will come find you" (I'm paraphrasing) made me put a $20 in the envelope instead of the required $7 for 5-7 sticks because I was unsure if I used 5-7 or 11. And with the $85 cleaning fee plus a $50 pet fee, we haven't stayed anywhere before that asked you to strip the beds, start the towels washing, etc. Other than that, it was a cute log cabin, nice features and very clean.

As this is their first 4-star review we would like to clarify some of your concerns since the homeowners do pride themselves on customer service. They only put notes on things that have caused confusion in the past like people throwing away the coffee filter that is permanent to the machine and the all important "only toliet tissue in the commode" since a backed up toliet would ruin a relaxing trip. Really the notes are an easy way for the owners to communicate with their valued guests so they can enjoy their vacation while knowing important information about the home. We had a perfect and peaceful stay. My son was graduating from VT and to our surprise there were graduation cupcakes waiting for us. It was a fabulous touch. Michelle was very responsive and helpful before and durning our stay. The house is located about 45 min from Virginia Tech and the roads are pretty winding coming in. That being said we would definitely stay there again. The property was gorgeous and the house was absolutely perfect. All the amenities you could need are provided and the house was sparklingly clean. The outdoor space was so pretty and peaceful, I truly enjoyed reading in the hammock and loved the big covered porch.

Yard

The only issue we had was the day we left our dog was out in the yard and must have gone through a tick bed as he had 100's of tiniest ticks ever and we did not notice until he was in the car with us on the way home. had to find a bath place and bath him and then take him straight to vet. Ticks were all over my husbands legs - removed about 50 once we got home. The yard should be treated for this. the home is great though.

Great weekend getaway

The property was clean and convenient to the lake. Property owners are very friendly and helpful. A family of deer passed through the property about three or four times a day, our daughter loved watching them.

Beautiful Location

Lakewood Lodge is located in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed all of the outdoor space including the deck, the fire pit, and yard. We had a lot of fun playing all the lawn games provided by the host. Lakewood Lodge was close enough for us to explore new places, but also removed enough that we could just enjoy the serenity of nature.

Great mountain getaway!

The cabin was beautiful and was equipped with everything we needed. Fireplace and gazebo was great the weather didn't allow us to use them. The host was super nice . We would definitely say there again.

Would book again and highly recommend

The hosts were more than welcoming. They continued to check in and see if I needed anything throughout my stay. They even made sure to check in before and during an incoming snowstorm. I could not have asked for better hosts and would highly recommend staying at one of their properties. The house was clean and had everything you could need.

Much much better than I expected!

To summarize our stay in one word - Amazing! The cabin was above my expectations. Nice and cozy. The bed on the main floor is perfect. I slept like a child! :) Thanks a lot to the owners for this experience. I also wanted to point out that the area around the cabin is beautiful. Just go there and see it yourself!

Want seclusion. This is the place.
