This 3 bed 3 bath condo is located in the beautiful Resort Community of Princeville. It is one of the larger units with 1800 sq. feet of living space, which includes a spacious 200 ft. screened in lanai (the only unit that is screened in) to keep those pesky mosquitos out! Perfect for a couple or a family, this upscale condo sleeps 1 to 6 persons comfortably.

This unit is completely upgraded with one Cal king bed in the upstairs bedroom loft, one King bed in the lockout, and two twins (put together as a queen upon request) in the downstairs bedroom. The lockout has it's own entrance to give you a little privacy, but not removed from the rest of the unit as it shares common walls and is not a detached unit. The living room includes a 52” flat screen TV in the main room, a 32” TV in the lockout, dvd players, stereo player for iPods and android systems, wi-fi capability, and a fully stocked kitchen. This is your vacation home away from home, furnished with everything you need….and probably more.

The Mauna Kai units feature the largest private pool for outdoor fun and a covered pavilion with multiple grills for BBQ’ing. A short 10 minute walk puts you in the Princeville Shopping Center where you can get groceries, fine dining and lots of shopping. Walk along the Princeville walking path and you can access the Makai Golf Course and St. Regis resort for dinner and a spa day. Or just walk down a hiking path to reach the secluded Anini Beach in under 10 minutes.

Why Melissa Ross chose North Shore

There is no better location than the Mauna Kai units. Everything is within a 10 minute walk or drive on the north shore. You can buy groceries or end up at the secluded side of Anini Beach in 10 minutes. We love our unit since it faces the trade winds and the breeze blows through the condo all day and night long. We are also the only unit that has a screened-in lanai, so we get to keep the lanai doors open and it becomes another room. Perfect for relaxing, reading and dining without the mosquitos.

Very nice and well maintained

We loved how clean and spacious the property was. Though, we did not like that there was no A/C and we had MANY lizards in the rooms. The pool was not functioning so we cannot comment on that. We loved the enclosed patio.

A nicely designed condo with a spacious lanai surrounded by tropical plants.

We spent a blissful two weeks on the idyllic island of Kaua'i staying at this great condo. Although compact it was very clean and had everything you should need including beach chairs and boogie boards. The spacious lanai was the best place to sit with a cup of coffee listening to the wind as it rustled the tropical plants that surround the property. Even though the condo is overlooked on all sides by other homes, the lanai feels very private and the resort was quiet with a great pool. The owners, Melissa and Thomas were charming and immediately available via email if we had any questions.

Enjoyed our stay.

The house had everything we needed. We chose this place because it was central to all the activities we planned to do. Plenty of space for everyone. The screened in porch was a nice retreat from the inside with a breeze going through. No air conditioning, there are ceiling fans and some noisy box fans to use. By far the best room in the house was the loft bedroom for a breeze. The pool was a short walk and hardly used Parking is very tight, rent a small vehicle. We did arrive late in the evening and the property was not well lit. However, as the time there continued the sidewalk light was lit some of the time. As much as we enjoyed the property I would opt for a place with air conditioning. The trade winds aren't always blowing.

Great stay with everything we needed!

The beds were comfy which is a big deal when staying for any extended amount of time. Kitchen is stocked with everything you would need. Screened in lanai is wonderful for replacing after a busy day. Easy access to Princeville and Wiley beach which was great for snorkeling and finding Ni'ihau shells. You cab also walk down to watch sunset fromWiley beach. Overall, it was a great place to stay!

Beautiful and Relaxing

We were very happy with the House and the comforts of home. The house was so comfortable and had everything there and ready for use.

We found the Ice Chest and swim goodies were very helpfully and even though we had our own snorkeling equipment, we found that we could use some of the other stuff.

My daughter, Son In Law and our 2 grandkids (12 and 15) used the main part of the house and my husband and I used the attached bedroom and bathroom. This worked out great giving the others more comfort as well as some privacy.

The house is very beautiful. The screened in porch is so inviting and comfortable, we spent a lot of time there in the morning and evening.

The walk to the beach is a bit of a walk but was comfortable. The Princeville shopping mall had a very well rounded services available.

The house was clean and the bathrooms are well equipped.

I will look for this house again when I return to Kauai and as well passed the info onto several friends w have visited since we have returned home.

It an alright place...not the worse, definitely not the best

We stayed for 2 weeks in this property and did enjoy ourselves. The location is good and grounds are nice.

First the good-

We had 6 in our group and there is plenty of room. We spent most of our time in the screened in porch area. Master bedroom/bath in loft is nice and stayed cool for sleeping. 2nd bath is nice also. Kitchen is a little tight but good overall its also full furnished. Living room/dining is comfortable as well. Used the washer/dryer almost need to pack a lot of extra clothes. Beach towels /coolers were a nice touch also. There is plenty of hot water for back to back showers. Pool and grill area are also very nice (see below).

Now the not so good-

Parking was a hassle at times, at times we had to park on the grass. Not a big deal but the parking lot is tight. Pool area is very dark at night, one of our party tripped over one of the chairs while using the grill and fell very hard and broke an elbow (fortunately is was our last day). Finishes in the unit are very worn (sheets are stained and worn, cabinets are delaminating, upholstery is worn, unit wasn't very clean, had to wash the dishes on our arrival, bath towels are worn). Might as well wash the dishes by hand because the dishwasher is pathetic. The separate bedroom as well as the 1st floor bedroom are very stuffy. The hike to the beach is next to impossible unless your into mountaineering.

We've stayed in nicer places in Princeville for the same costs but I'm sure this is about average for the age of this unit.

Owner's Response: We appreciate your feedback on your stay with us. We do take all suggestions and opinions very seriously, and want all of our guests to feel comfortable without needless grievances. We're very saddened to hear that there were some concerns that you had that we could have immediately replaced for you, had you let us know during your stay. We would have been more than happy and willing to come replace whatever you needed, and go over any items that you may have wanted altered or just discussed. We really do take cleanliness seriously, as does our housekeeper, for the complete health and safety of our guests. In your stays in the future at other places, I'm sure that even other owners would prefer to have you reach out to them during your stay so that they have the opportunity to adjust things for you to your satisfaction. We were also a little surprised to hear of the dishwasher - it's actually on the newer side, and we haven't had any other feedback on it's performance prior to your stay, so we apologize if it didn't operate to your standards. We'll obviously take a look at it and see if there are any functions that are working poorly. We are also very concerned to hear that one in your party suffered an injury within the pool area. I'll be forwarding that information to our property management staff so that they are aware of the potential risk to safety at the pool at night. We would have appreciated hearing about that as well during your stay, but we appreciate the information either way. Again, we really do appreciate the feedback as it allows us the opportunity to make adjustments as needed, and ensure that our property is functioning at it's best for all of our guests.
