Wonderful Mountain Cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights in the cabin. Make sure that you follow the driving directions from the owner as GPS does not get you to exactly where you need to be.
The owner was very responsive to any questions that we had. We would definitely stay there again.
It was exactly what we were expecting, a “cabin in the woods”. Fantastic views, tranquillity, everything you can expect when you try to escape from the city life. Excellent maintained, it has everything you need for your vacation. As long as you have a good car(4x4 preferably) you don’t have anything to worry about. Thanks to the owner we came prepared for and we enjoyed our time there. We’ll be back, thank you.
Mountain Top Relaxation
The location of this property is what makes it truly unique and appealing. After reading some of the previous reviews you will see that most all of them mention the road/driveway up to the home. During our visit in July the weather was perfect, and we had no issues at all with the drive up and down the mountain in our AWD Chevy Traverse. If you have any trepidation or concerns contact the owner John with your questions, he is very quick to respond.
Once you have arrived at the house you will see why the drive up was well worth it. The home is just as it appears in the photos. The expansive rear deck has plenty of room for everyone and the two hammocks were an added bonus. We did make use of the firepit during our stay. There were five Adirondack chairs for seating around the fire and we picked up wood at the gas station nearby for $3.00 a bundle.
The kitchen is very well equipped to do any/all your cooking there. There is also a gas grill on the deck for you to use as well. We went to the Ingles grocery store in Bryson City, about a 15min drive from the house. You can sign up for one of their free store advantage cards on the spot, and begin using it immediately to get their advertised sale prices.
There is much to see and do in the area and a good place to start is in Bryson City. The Swain County visitors center has information and maps for all of the local activities and Smoky Mountain National Park.
I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet mountain hideaway with their family or friends, while still being close to all that the area had to offer for recreation and entertainment.
Great private cabin near Bryson City
We had a great time at this cabin! It is very private and peaceful. The cabin was very clean and there was plenty of space for everyone. There is even a finished basement with a bedroom with 2 beds and a TV, sofa, kitchenette, bathroom, and washer/dryer that was an added bonus to the cabin. The deck, grill, picnic tables and fire pit were also great! The cabin was also very well supplied with kitchen items and spices and there were plenty of sheets/towels and pretty much anything you might need. The only problem we had was getting our minivan up a steep hill right before the driveway. Unfortunately we ended up in a ditch and called John and he sent a friend over within minutes to try to help us out (and gave us some good advice for getting up the hill for the rest of the week). Thanks! The area is also great - went on the Great Smoky Mtn railroad, went to Gatlinburg to the new SkyLift bridge, hiked up Clingman's Dome and rented a pontoon boat on Fontana Lake. Definitely recommend staying here!
Great Mountain Getaway!
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The location gave us a great base to explore Bryson City, Cherokee, Fontana Lake, Clingman's Dome, and even Gatlinburg. The space was perfect for our needs, literally at the top of a mountain ridge, peaceful and quiet. Our children enjoyed a great room upstairs with twin beds, a tub for their baths, and even LEGOs and other toys waiting for them. We enjoyed the plush king bed downstairs, the fireplace, the well-equipped kitchen, and the rocking chairs on the back deck. The fire pit was perfect for making s'mores and we enjoyed the picnic table on the back deck for dinner, too. We had a 4WD truck and did make use of it to make the climb up to and down from the cabin easier, but it isn't required. Given the layout, this cabin could easily accommodate 2 or even 3 families with children.
Very nice home!!!
A last minute plan to go on a trip, Very nice place to stay and family enjoyed. Thanks for everything! We look to be back for sure. Only improvement was to have a TV in the master bedroom. It has a lot of space and has a great view. Thanks again!
