Our group of retirees thoroughly enjoyed the depot and its location. We came for snowmobiling. The depot is an excellent facility and the location literally on the trail is exceptional. Bars and restaurants within easy walking. A brewery right across the street. It doesn’t get any better. We hope to return next year.
We loved this fun and unique place. It was so interesting and full of history. The owners did a great job restoring it.plenty of everything you need there. The little town had a lot going on the few nights we were there. It was nice to sit outside and relax . So glad we chose this place
Cannot say enough positives about this unique property! The location was outstanding for families with young kiddos. Plenty of room to run outside & close to a beautiful park, trail & playground.
Kitchen was well appointed with everything needed & so much room for family meals.
Beds were plentiful & cozy. Very clean. We will definitely come here again!
This is such a fun and perfect place to stay. Location is fantastic for doing anything outside. You can tell great care and love was put into making this property what it is.
We had a wonderful time. The Union Station is clean, modern, and full of character. Will be back with my wife and son someday soon. Close to anything you need between Ishpeming and Marquette. Owner was friendly and prompt to deal with. 5 STARS
Awesome historical building in a great town with walkable restaurants and great outdoor activities within walking or short driving distance. Perfect for larger groups.
Beautiful restoration! Loved it! Wish we could have stayed longer.
Reservation process was a breeze. Very accommodating ( we had to change dates). Gracious hosts that have created a very comfortable place to get away and relax.
We held our son’s graduation party here and had family stay the weekend. I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience! We will definitely stay again and I know so many people at the party plan on booking here with their own family after seeing this beautiful property. Thank you for everything!
I rented the depot for my husband’s retirement party. We needed a space for the party as well as guests from out of town to stay. We had approximately 125+ people throughout the day comfortably. The property manager was quick to respond to my requests and they were MORE than accommodating on everything, our party couldn’t have been more perfect. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The beds and linens were very comfortable, the sauna was an added bonus and property itself is absolutely beautiful! I can’t recommend this place strongly enough.
This property was amazing. Had everything we needed. Beautiful, lots of history, and the trail is right off the yard. Took a day and walked to Ishpeming. It was a beautiful walk with lots of friendly faces. Owner was responsive and very helpful.
I was so excited to find this gem in the UP for an Autumn getaway. The historic Train station is immaculately kept—clean, tidy, well-preserved, and comfortable not to mention SPACIOUS!!! I only had my sister with me, but you could easily fit 4-5 guests in this rental. The property has a sauna, a pellet stove, fully operational kitchen, and TV with Roku. The owner provides very detailed check out instructions which I found very helpful. I’m just sad I could not stay longer! We will for sure be back...I adored this property!!!
It was just my Husband and myself so this space was way more then we needed but i couldnt resist staying in an old depot! The space is amazing! Beautifully restored to suit a home with all the charm of the old depot! I can see why someone would love to have a gathering here! Perfect party space. Its right on a biking trail, so bring your bikes. Walking distance to a coffee shop and bakery. And a short drive to Marquette for anything else you would need. The town buildings were being restored to original and they had quite a few antique shops.
We went for a fall color tour and used this as a home base for a few nights. We could have definitely stayed longer! Absolutely loved everything about it!
This property was simply wonderful. The owners did a great job restoring this depot building - making it a very comfortable and roomy place to stay. There was more than enough space for our family of 8 to relax, play and just enjoy our time.
The kitchen is large and well stocked, beds were comfortable, plenty of linens, multiple seating areas, large yard are back of for playing and a paved walking / bike trail adjoining the property. The entire place was exceptionally clean.
Bill is local and very helpful - it was a pleasure meeting him.
The only issue during our visit is that the roads in town were being repaved - but the local businesses were all open and very friendly. Many restaurants and shops are within a block or two walking distance from the property.
We initially planned our stay in Negaunee as a 'base' since it was centrally located between Munising, Marquette and Houghton. When here, we learned the history of the town and it's ties to the iron industry. We changed our plans and the kids enjoyed their visits to the Cliffs Mine and the Iron History Museum.

Bad experiences make good stories later/Truth in advertising matters/One step up from a tent
Notice all the OLD reviews? things have apparently deteriorated. In Feb, we booked here to ski at Marquette. We booked 4 nights & stayed 2.The website says "Luxury lodging for the Adventurous Spirit".LOL Get ready for adventure & not a lot of luxury. The first night at 2am we awoke to a torrent of ice water splashing from the leaking roof onto the master bed.The heat source for the bedroom is a pellet stove. It was EMPTY. No heat. No extra blankets (we scavenged from the murphy beds) Ice cold bathroom. Those beautiful linens in the photos aren't what you will receive. The interior does not look like the photos past the walls and floor.Bath towels were mismatched threadbare & musty.I wish I could attach photographs. We found a note that the disposal was inoperable & the sink backed up.The light in the bedroom doesn't work. There is a huge crack across the vanity mirror. The beds measure 59" in master 50" for murphys (smaller than a full bed)&the loft is a FULL not a queen. We had huge snowfall & they didnt bother to plow us out.No dishwasher. No dish rack. All the cupboards are jammed with left over plastic catering supplies left by former guestsEvery drawer in the kitchen looks like a junk drawer. Not ONE single wine glass. No toiletries. No soap.No shampoo. You will receive a "to-do list" which includes loads of laundry & putting all 40 chairs up before you leave Like Girl Scout Camp. There are no cleaning supplies anywhere in the property.Sauna instructions scrawled on a torn piece of cardboard box & jammed in a folder.Text & email to the owner about the leaking roof & no heat has gone unanswered. The manager said she cant get anyone to look at the roof for a weekWhen I told her we had no heat & no pellets..she said "They are somewhere outside".That's it. No apologies & she never stopped by to check on the stove to make sure we had heat. I cant make this up.This is bare bones bunk house.NO lux.Staying in a refurbished 1890 train station seems like such a cool experience.Cool as ICE & very much an experience.BTW...if you want to know any history on the building there isn't any provided. We stay in VRBO about 8X per year & I have never left under a 5 star rating.I've stayed in a hippie colony in Homer Alaska $10 a night that was more luxurious. The worst part of all is the complete lack of appropriate response from the property manager/owner.Secondly the false advertising. Train depot? More like train wreck. One star is generous Horrible
The venue was perfect for a birthday party for 60 guests. Very little decorating is needed, because the restoration of this Depot was done extremely well, using natural beauty. Lots of refrigerator space is available.
We've enjoyed this space three years in a row for our holiday party. It is spacious, cozy, comfy and beautiful. It's a wonderful place for a large family or friend gathering. It's absolutely lovely!
