Ideal For Family Groups, Dog Friendly - 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 8
About Leslie Harris
Hi, We are Peter and Leslie .We live in Washington DC but have always dreamed of having a family home on Cape Cod where everyone can gather from 1 to 101. We love exploring the outer Cape, swimming in the secret ponds, biking the paths in Provincetown and enjoying all that Wellfleet has to offer. We have two dogs who love walking on the beach and playing in the ocean. And yes, our house is dog friendly.
Leslie Harris purchased this House in 2014
Why Leslie Harris chose Wellfleet
Peter grew up in Connecticut so he is a New Englander. Leslie was born in Massachusetts but left when she was a child. Discovering the Cape felt like coming home. We knew if we ever bought a vacation home, it would be in Wellfleet. We are learning to be Welfleetians and love its history and small town feel. We found our house in the middle of a snow storm. It was only half built but we both knew it was right.
What makes this House unique
We love the quiet street, and the view from the porch into deep woods of the Herring River Estuary. We see all kinds of wild life in the early evening, once even a coywolf. The great room makes the house special, large enough for everyone to gather and to eat , the porch is where we gather in the early evening and in cooler weather, the gas fireplace warms the whole house. We also like having one master on the ground level. Lets us have lots of guests and still have our private space.

Great stay in Wellfleet!
My friends and I stayed at this house during our annual Oyster Fest weekend. We had some challenges with arrival due to a storm hitting the area and I really appreciated how Peter communicated with me so often with updates. The house itself is beautiful and perfect for a big group. It has everything you could need and is a great location - close to downtown, beaches and lots of beautiful nature. I would definitely recommend!
Thanks Julie, we are so happy you enjoyed our house and had a great time at Oysterfest. Hopefully you will consider staying at Rose Hill again.
Great 3 day getaway
The house was bright and airy. We had no issues at all and the host was very quick to respond and available. The deck was divided into an outdoor open area and a screened in area which was really nice. Would highly recommend.
thank you Hormoz, we are so pleased you enjoyed our home and had a great time in Wellfleet
Great location in Wellfleet
Comfortable, well maintained house located just past Moby Dick’s in Wellfleet. Great location for easy access to village and beaches. Quiet neighborhood, private lot. Well stocked kitchen. Loved the enclosed porch to relax outside at any time of day! Beautiful rose bushes and hydrangeas add to the charm. The towels could use some replacing, many show signs of wear. But we went at the end of the season, so that may be why. Keyless entry a plus.
Glad you enjoyed our house and your stay in Wellfleet. Sorry that some of the beach towels were worn, and yes - an end of season issue. However we had bought new ones (we do every season); I just forgot to get rid of the old ones.
Had an amazing experience.
The house was beautiful and the location was the best! Expect us next year!
This rental exceeded all of my expectations
I am not quite sure where to begin, so I will start with the owners. They could not have been nicer to work with and were very accommodating. Each question I had was promptly answered. I am sure we will rent their home again in the future.
What can I say about this house? It was the perfect choice for us. It is clean, comfortable, quiet, private, well appointed, great for a family gathering, and difficult to leave at the end of a stay. From the moment we entered the home, made easy by the great instructions provided by the owners, we knew we had selected the right place to rent. The pictures do not do it justice! Wonderful photographs of the owners' rescue pup could be found in the first floor master bedroom. You knew instantly that they are dog lovers. The kitchen and dining area and family room are comfortable, inviting, and beautifully decorated (we learned that the owners are talented in photography and art). My whole family could be in the kitchen at once, with plenty of room to work. Wonderful serving dishes are there to compliment the large set of dishware and utensils. We were never without a clean dish or glass.
Although we were unable to enjoy them in late December, there is a great screened in porch and a private deck at the back of the home. Both backed up to trees for a beautiful view to enjoy. For us, they served as a great place to safely leave our coolers and overflow drinks/food items.
Off the powder room, the convenient washer and dryer were there to enable us to pack sparingly and not check a bag with the airline that brought us in from northern Virginia.
Wellfleet is a beautiful community. We were able to take a short drive to the water to enjoy breathtaking sunsets. We enjoyed walks through the quaint neighborhood.
I must say that my favorite things about the house, other than the wonderful living space, were the beds (amazing beds and pillows!) and the fireplace. Not only did we enjoy the convenience of a gas fireplace, but it is set up as the heat source for the home. Connected to the thermostat, the flames rose and dwindled with the temperature in the home. It did a great job of providing us with a beautiful fire to enjoy AND keep the home warm.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely Wellfleet home!
Lovely, very comfortable home with beautiful landscaping. Wish we could have enjoyed the screened porch and the deck more but weather didn't cooperate. We ate out every night of our short stay but had we realized how nice the kitchen is we might have been tempted to cook. We appreciate the things that a newer or updated home has to offer, like central air and plenty of electrical outlets. The owner was very responsive by e-mail. Quiet location but not far from Wellfleet Center, Truro, and Provincetown. Great for cycling, at least if you have some experience, as roads are quiet (in mid-Sept, mid-week at least!) with undulating hills except on the flat bike trail. We're already thinking about another off-season stay.
Glad you enjoyed your stay Mary. Sorry about the weather. The porch in the fall is one of the best features of the house. Come again and cook! Nothing like buying fresh fish in town and grilling on the deck or buying lobsters directly from the lobstermen.
Wellfleet is an historic fishing village first visited by the Pilgrims before they settled in Plymouth. You can rent boats in the harbour, visit the many art galleries, listen to music at the summer series on Mayo beach, kayak and paddle board on the bay, the salt marshes and ponds, swim in the town beaches , the national park beaches, surf in the ocean, swim in the hidden ponds, attend live theatre and summer concerts and other events, wander through the farmers markets, play in the town playground, enjoy the old fashioned holiday parades, eat at great restaurants, hike through the nature preserve and many other trails and visit the close by towns of Truro and of course Provincetown for great restaurants, clubs and the annual Pride parade in August.
