3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, waterfront home sleeps 11 in Bemus Point

Enjoy our great lake cottage for waterfront patio BBQs, lawn games, socializing and entertaining, plus the beautiful panoramic view of Chautauqua Lake from the all-windows main sun room/living area, plus the convenience of a short walk or bike ride to the heart of Bemus Point and all its charm!

Our cottage has 3 bedrooms (one with bunk beds for the kids, one with a queen bed, and one with a double bed). Additionally, the sun room has a pull-out twin bed, and there's also a twin daybed with twin trundle in the game bungalow (game bungalow has A/C for summer use, but no heat). We have 2 full bathrooms - one with a stand-up shower and one with a bathtub for the kids. Central heat and central air conditioning provide year-round comfort.

The fully-stocked open kitchen/dining area offers all of the cooking and food prep equipment and space you would need. Our two indoor dining tables seat up-to 14. The dock offers easy access to fishing and swimming, and an open boat slip with pilings for docking your boat. There is plenty of outdoor furniture, including an outdoor dining table with umbrella, adirondack deck chairs, and a full hammock. The summer game bungalow is one of our renters’ favorites – a place to escape to play foosball, darts, or one of the many board games stocked in the cottage. The game bungalow is a perfect bedroom/retreat for pre-teens or teens during their vacation. We keep the house stocked with lawn games and Schwinn cruiser bikes for our renters to use also.

A small, stackable washer-dryer is available. There is off-street parking for up-to 4 cars, plus street-side overflow parking 1 block away.

1/8 mile from the cottage is Bridgeview -- a mini-mart/gas station/liquor-n-beer shop/small deli -- which provides absolute convenience.

Bemus Point and Chautauqua Lake offer unlimited all-year-round vacation activities, attractions, fun and natural beauty for everyone. In the village of Bemus Point you’ll find restaurants, live music venues, boutique gift shops and every land and water recreation you can imagine. The See Zurh House offers family-friendly casual fare; the Italian Fisherman offers sunset views and great Mediterranean casual and formal dining; and the Hare n’ Hound Inn provides for romantic, quiet fine dining. There’s also Capolo’s pizza shop which has delivery service to the cottage, and the Bemus Point Inn for great diner-style breakfasts. The best place to enjoy a casual cocktail is from one of the famous colorful rocking chairs on the front porch of the historic Lenhart Hotel – order a “Lenhart Rocker” and watch the sunset. New to Bemus Point in 2016 is Ellicottville Brewery - enjoy one of their many craft beers and some great pub food. Live music can be enjoyed from the outdoor Floating Stage in downtown Bemus or at The Village Casino, home of world-famous chicken wings, late-night. These are just a few of many great options in the area.

Enjoy a 9-hole round of golf at Bemus Point Golf Club, access to public tennis courts, or take a bike ride along Lakeside Drive to Long Point State Park. Grab a picnic lunch or an ice cream treat from the Bemus Point Market before you go. When you return spend some time browsing through the many unique shops within the village including The Lakeside Shoppe, Skillman's, and Imagine. Take the kids to the playground at the Village Park or to the public beach.

If you’re itching to get out on the water, power boats, pontoons, paddle boards and jet skis can be rented from several local vendors. In addition, some famous local attractions include the world-renowned Victorian lakeside community of Chautauqua Institution which offers arts and education programming and a variety of cultural classes and events all summer. Historic Midway Park is the 15th oldest, continually operating amusement park in the nation and is perfectly geared for the 5-10 year-old crowd. History and nature enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, The Jamestown Audubon Center, The Fenton Museum and The Lucille Ball - Desi Arnaz Center, all located 20-minutes away in Jamestown, NY...Home of 'Lucy.' Don’t miss enjoying a craft beer at Southern Tier Brewery while you are in town either.

A unique and rare feature of our cottage is that it offers central heat and central air conditioning for comfortably enjoying all seasons at the lake. Spring and fall offer great hunting and hiking opportunities for outdoorsy types, and magnificent views of the lake and leaves! Winter offers ice fishing, sledding, access to thousands of miles of snowmobile trails, and area skiing at Holiday Valley or Peek n' Peak.

We do not allow pets or smoking - WE DO NOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. We promise a very clean environment, and conveniently provide linens and towels for our visitors’ use.

About Lisa

I grew up in Bemus Point, enjoying all that lake living has to offer including swimming, waterskiing, ice cream cones, bike rides, sunsets, and enjoying a drink and the breeze while splashing my toes in the water from the end of a dock. I also loved everything Western New York lends to a snow-lover who enjoys snowskiing, snowmobiling, sledding, snowball fights, and that fabulous mug of hot chocolate that comes at the end of a Chautauqua winter day. My dream was to someday own a cottage on Chautauqua Lake to allow me the pleasure of spending quality time with my extended local family, and to share the beauty of this place with others. That started with my husband, Matt. On his first visit to Chautauqua County, he immediately fell in love with the summertime vibe and Bemus Point’s charm. We were married there in summer 2013! Together we worked to fulfill our dream to own a piece of lakefront paradise :). Now, whenever we need to escape our hectic lives in Baltimore, MD and slow down to enjoy life, we head straight for the cottage. We know you’ll enjoy our lakehouse as much as we do, and would be honored to share it with you!!!

My son enjoyed having his own building (the game room) to sleep in. Made s'mores and sat around the fire pit watching for meteors. Kitchen well stocked with small appliances and pots, dishes, etc. Beds comfy. Whole place clean and inviting. Lisa and Matt even provided sunny high-60's weather for a mid-October weekend. We hope to visit again soon.

                                                                  Outstanding Attention to Detail

                                                                  Jay P.

Our group of dads and sons have stayed in various Home Away rentals throughout the Finger Lakes for many years. This year we thought we’d try Chautauqua. So happy we did. The fishing was fantastic but Matt and Lisa truly showed they care for not only their property but their guests who stay there.

The property was so incredibly well stocked it was as if a family lived there year round. The home was clean and perfectly located in a bay away from boat traffic. Tremendous amount of activities and games for a rainy day.

Matt and Lisa have multiple instructions that are very helpful; shows how much they desire their guests to enjoy themselves. They are responsive to all emails and accommodating to our special requests.

Hands down.. best place we’ve stayed in, both in the home itself and dealing with the owners. Definitely will plan a return trip.

The lake house is a beautiful house in a beautiful setting.

The house is decorated perfectly for a lakefront retreat and we instantly felt at home. There are many activities in the surrounding area and many games provided so we always had something to do even when the weather didn't cooperate. We loved sitting on the deck and used the fire pit every night. We would definitely recommend the house to anyone traveling to Chautauqua.

Third year in a row, this rental doesn't disappoint. Quiet, all the comforts of home and beautiful.

We had our own boat so the lakefront gave us hours of boating fun but weather gave us opportunity and space to enjoy the many board games, puzzles and game room including a "Fuze" ball tournament.

The Lakehouse was well equipped for any cooking we wanted to do plus condiments abundant. There were plates, silverware and glassware for all 18 at our reunion and a dishwasher so no one had to miss the fun! I cannot say enough about this great place. The family is already talking about next year :)

It was s wonderful place with all the trimmings... the view of the lake was sparkling !

                                                                  pat p.

We had a family reunion here.. slept ten comfortably and easily accompanied 10 more guests for the day. The owners equipped the house with absolutely everything one could need.... the cornhole game, fuzeball table, bikes, puzzles and games provided us entertainment in the rain and shine of our week. We had only one glich with grill but Tim came over immediately and fixed it with a smile. The swivel rocking chairs at the end of the dock were our favorites to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of Chautauqua Lake. It was a perfect place to create family memories and relax from the daily grind...oh and did I mention how much we loved the beauty of Chautauqua Lake!!!
