The property was perfect for our family trip. Located close to town and a nice yard, dock and back porch to spend time on. The house was very well furnished with lots of little extras that made it feel more like home, especially if you enjoy cooking. The hosts went the extra mile to make their home extra special for vacation guests.

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful time! The house was exactly as advertised. The host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

MY parents and there friends really enjoyed their stay. The view and proximity to Bemus Point was great. The 80+ degree days in October didn't hurt either.

Relaxing. fun and interesting week at the Lake.

Appropriate furnishings. Not sure if the hot and cold-water hoses to the washer were correct. Liked the smokeless fire pit. Loved the lake and Bemus Point. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Better than the photos let on

We had 8 guys stay here with 2 boats, 3 cars, and a trailer. Water near the dock is pretty shallow, maybe waist height so we had to anchor a little further out, maybe 50 ft and swim/paddle board to the boat. Nice piece of property, tucked away in a corner of the neighborhood. House has plenty of amenities and really anything you might want from a rental house, and likely more. Beds were comfortable, plenty of space. Everything seems fairly new and recently updated. There’s a grill and solo stove out back, and a nice seating area outdoors. Absolutely nothing to complain about here, or even feedback for improvement, we had a great time.

Amazing property - wonderful stay!

We had a group of 7 - two families consisting of 3 children. We had a wonderful time. Kirstan’s home was very clean, comfortable and has everything you need. The private dock was wonderful as we brought our boat and was able to dock it right at the house!

A comfortable cottage

Three generations spent a week here, and we enjoyed ourselves. We never met the owners, but they were very friendly and responsive to texts. The cottage was well stocked with supplies, including K-cups, spices, a few snacks, and the makings of s’mores. There is a fire pit with plenty of wood (we didn’t use it) an old paddle boat that was fun for the kids, a kayak (which we didn’t use), a very good grill (which we used a lot). The outdoor seating area was very comfortable and got lots of use. This is an older cottage which means smaller rooms. We enjoyed our stay.

Week flew by too fast

The “Rest” was awesome we enjoyed the water, cottage and the beautiful view. It had everything we needed for a great vacation! Outside or inside the property was clean comfortable and quiet… Thank you Lake Chautauqua! You never disappoint!

Lake time with friends and family

This property is lovely and exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the back porch with beautiful views. My only suggestions would be to put a mirror, light switch and a real lock on the upstairs bathroom. We appreciated all the details and extras (chocolate bars, coffee and lots of pantry items to use, row boat and paddle boat) this house had to offer and the convenience of being so close to Bemus Point. Kirstan was wonderful! She was so quick to respond to our questions and very accommodating! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Great Lake property

Our whole group loved the property on the water. It was serene and relaxing. We enjoyed the feel of the updated home and it had many amenities that made our stay very comfortable. We will return.

Girls getaway

Five of us stayed for 3 nights, loved it! The view was stunning, and the house was comfy and perfect! Local shopping, and also into Ellicotville , we enjoyed the trip to Lake Chautauqua very much.

Relaxing Stay

I stayed at this property with my husband, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. The new renovations are very nice and the decor is super cute! The location was really a highlight for us being right on the lake with a huge yard. We also really enjoyed the covered porch because we could still enjoy the outdoors while it was raining. Overall, a great place to stay!!

Wonderful waterfront property

Stayed here with my family (husband and 3 kids) for relaxing long weekend getaway and couldn’t have been happier. The house was clean, spacious, and convenient to town. It was well stocked with pots/pans, bakeware, plates, glasses, paper products, as well as staples such as coffee, sugar, spices, oil, etc. It’s right on the lake with stunning sunsets from the covered outdoor patio. Kids loved the fire pit, and all the games, especially the chess table. Kirstan was a great host, providing a detailed information packet about the property and region and responsive to any questions. There were nice touches like firewood and s’mores supplies. Will definitely be staying here again.

Perfect!

We had a great time during our stay! The back patio is perfect and was our favorite spot to hang out and relax. It’s obvious the owners have spent a great deal of time and care in making this feel like a home away from home. There are countless amenities provided and the views are gorgeous. Our Best Cottage at the Lake yet !!!

We have been renting a cottage at Chautauqua every year except 1 for the past 10 years…. We are a group of 8 friends and we are picky with the locales….. we looked at 3 different ones this year and Heron’s Rest was , by far, the best…. This cottage is the best we have ever rented… Amenities were off the charts ….location perfect….all new kitchen appliances, 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, enough parking for 4 vehicles… everything with this cottage was SUPERB !!!! I already booked next year…. Thank you Kirstan !!!!

Relaxing week

This property was great for our family! The kitchen was a wonderful gathering place and had everything we needed. We spent many mornings at the table playing games and evenings playing bocce in the yard. My husband and children loved the dock for fishing and the bird watching can’t be beat. We brought my parents along and they loved it too. It’s an easy bike ride into Bemus Point which we did often. We had an age range of 10 to 75 and everyone had a fun week.

Beautiful Property!

We really enjoyed our stay at Heron’s Rest! The property has an amazing location on the lake and the views are gorgeous. The house was clean and had many recent upgrades, you can tell the owners have invested a lot of time and love into the home. There were a lot of added amenities that you don’t usually find in a typical rental that made our stay very comfortable. The owners are very nice and attentive with any questions you may have. We would highly recommend Heron’s Rest!

Fishing Crew

Our fishing group stayed in this house 7 or 8 years ago. We rented it through the previous owners. It was a nice place to stay then. Now, the house is amazing! The new owners have made many upgrades to make this place feel like home. Updated kitchen, bathroom, furniture, lighting, painting and carpet. We really enjoyed the back patio area that included a couch, grill and picnic table. Also, the cafe lights were a nice added touch to this area at dusk. We had 3 boats on this trip and the dock accommodated all of them. We’ll be back!

Excellent spot to relax

House was in an excellent spot in the lake with great shade trees and out door area. Older house with newly remodeled kitchen and bath. Well equipped and plenty of room. We had 7 adults and it worked very well. New patio and back porch area is the best and where we spent most of the time. Had a small paddle boat we used and hung out on the dock. Bemus Point is only a mile or so away and an easy walk if you want to.

My husband and I have been landlords most of our adult lives, but The Heron’s Rest on Lake Chautauqua is our very first vacation rental—and a true dream come true. We also own a historic apartment building in a charming small town in Western Pennsylvania.
