Imagine yourself with a cool tropical drink in hand, relaxing on your private lanai just 30 feet from the ocean . . . the warm ocean breeze blowing through your hair, and the calming sound of the waves washing ashore . . . this doesn't have to be a dream! It is the reality of life here in the islands, and at the Kona Bali Kai Resort, Unit #312 just 2 miles south of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island! This two bedroom, two-bath condo gives you all of that and more! This very clean condo is perfect for a family visit, or for just a romantic getaway for two! It has a well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, quality towels and linens, along with a million dollar view that will all help to make for an absolutely blissful vacation! Kitchen recently upgraded with all new stainless steel appliances and granite counter top. Master bath now has a beautiful walk-in tiled shower, while guest bath has newly tiled tub/shower combo. Both baths have all new quartz vanity tops and all new fixtures. Both bedrooms have new Cal King size beds.
Located on the third floor right in the middle of the oceanfront building, this oceanfront condo boasts first-class views as well as excellent proximity to Kona town and all activities. Watch world-class surfers ride the waves while dolphins frolic in their wake! Enjoy seasonal whale watching right from your lanai and get a close-up view of the giant sea turtles (Honu) that come in to feed in the tide pools and also to sun themselves on the beach! (No touching though!)

Overall we had a great stay. The checkin process was seamless. The condo is well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen had plenty of everything, the Brita pitcher, coffee and basics like spices, salt/pepper made it easy. Beds/pillows were comfortable. The beach gear like chairs , umbrellas, and towels was super nice. We loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves.

Beautiful and specious ocean side condo. 2B2B with living and kitchen. This house has everything you need. Everything in the kitchen and any thing (chairs, umbrella) needed to enjoy the ocean. Million dollar view from Balcony and sitting arrangement was amazing. Conveniently located near major attractions, beaches, market and restaurants. We will stay again.

Our Anniversary Stay

Wonderful time, condo was super clean and well stocked with all the household amenities anyone could ever need! TV was a little problematic, couch not the most comfy but we rarely watched anyway! Spent most of our time on the beautiful lanai enjoying the amazing view. Sunsets and sunrises were unbelievable!!

Our family loved staying at this condo. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking diverse meals, the beach supplies got much use, and the location right on the ocean was excellent. Convenient and ample parking in a garage below the condos was a nice surprise as well!

Such a great location: close to local shops and restaurants. Tide pools, surfing, marine life viewing from your balcony. And wave sounds throughout the day and night.

Essential Hawaiian Experience

This property was absolutely amazing! The condo is very nice, well furnished, and has a quintessential Hawaiian feel. The location could not be better, just a short way from downtown, and with a beautiful view right on the ocean. Some of the best parts of our trip were sitting on the lanai enjoying the beautiful sunsets and some fresh local fruit from the nearby market, and the occasional glimpse of sea turtles just below us. We hope to return to stay again!

I wish I was still there!

I cant imagine a much better condo than this one, it had everything we needed and it was in the perfect location. I could have sat on the lanai all day long and been happy watching surfers, turtles, and whales. Sunsets were amazing too.

Big island getaway

Great first visit to the Big Island, the views here are remarkable, listening to the crashing waves through sleep is anazing. Holly is a pleasure to coordinate with and the extra amentities throughout the condo are a bonus..saving time and funds more relaxing in paradise.Theres so many enticing places to eat nearby we struck up our own restaurant walking tour sharing small plates and ordering drinks at a few before settling into a main meal spot! We enjoyed the homey condo and the location...the island is big so picking an advantageous homebase is tricky, this worked well for us! Thank you for the hospitality and the memories!

Holly and crew are awesome!

Another exceptional stay at Kona Bali Kai! Arrived to an immaculately clean, fully stocked condo for our 2 week stay, with Hawaiian music playing and a wonderfully comfortable breeze blowing through! Lots of coffee samples to get us started and a nicely packed spice selection! Kitchen had everything one would need as was the stock of luxurious beach and bath towels, Any questions were responded to promptly and helpfully by Holly. I have worked with Holly at this property before and she is awesome! We have been coming to the Bali Kai for over 30 years, and this stay was definitely among the very best!

Don’t plan on grilling!

We loved the view of this property, but the photos represented a larger, neater impression. None of the four grills worked properly and smoked so bad that if we sat on our lanai we’d have to come in. One of the things we look forward to is grilling by the ocean and eating in. The grill knobs just spun, so you couldn’t adjust heat and the grill surface was rusted. We already bought proteins for grilling, and unfortunately everything we grilled got incinerated. We won’t stay here again.

Fantastic!

During a recent stay, our party had several of the condos rented. I can assure you that this unit was probably the nicest of them all. Close to elevators (don't worry, very little, if any, noise), pleasantly decorated, plenty of beach towels, nice beach chairs, and boggyboards to boot! This unit is right above where various turtles come to shore each day -- you can photograph them right from your balcony.

Ocean view amazing!

The view from the patio was unbelievable. Sunset over the ocean every night and even dolphins one morning. The condo is located in a busy neighborhood downtown Kona and very close to everything. Closest restaurant was only half a mile away. The condo itself was stocked with everything you could possibly need including beach chairs and cooler. Personally I would pick an air conditioned place next time, since it gets warm during the day. However the evenings are cool with the ocean breeze. And most days we were gone all day sightseeing. Holy was a great host and very responsive for any questions at all. As soon as we needed something she responded within an hour. Amazing customer service..

Do not stay here!

When we walked into this rental we both were aghast. The rental was in the middle if being cleaned, and there was no one around. The whole place was dark and dirty. The pictures did not accurately depict the small size of the rooms or the balcony. The pool area was not inviting. Upon contacting the host, she said that there must have been a communication glitch with the cleaning crew. She offered us another rental in the complex, but we found another place to stay and received a refund.

This condo delivered!

Oceanfront-for real! Fantastic location. Easy access. Relaxation for our entire party! This small condo was everything it said it was! Only 2 small bits of feedback: The quality of the toilet seat in the second bathroom seemed avoidable. It was cheap and slid around. Please replace it! Also the shower temperature controls in the second bathroom could use some maintenance. Hot water seemed unavailable. I know those things seem small, but they had an impact and are easily fixable. Thanks to Holly!

Lanai of my dreams

Spending time on the lanai will go down as one of my favorite lifetime highlights. There were humpback whales! Dolphins lept into the air! Fantastic sunsets! Waves lapping at the lava right below me! The location was great for running and walking - nearby beaches were very accessible. There were some issues with fans and lights and screen doors, but that's life on the ocean. The microwave blew up the first night and a replacement was on the counter by noon the next day - really great communication. If you're looking for the lanai of your dreams, where you can snack on papaya and star fruit while watching leaping dolphins and surfers in the waves. . .I don't know if it's possible to do better than this one. It was the best possible way we could have finished off our vacation - thank you!

Wonderful experience

Location, location, location. You can't get any closer to the water. We spent hours on the lanai watching the ocean and tide pools. We could see the colorful fish in the tide pools from the balcony. We had 5 people in our party which was a little snug but it worked. I thought the no AC thing would be an issue but it really wasn't. There are enough fans and ocean breeze to keep it cool at night. The complex itself can be a little rowdy with kids running up and down the halls but thats standard at any hotel/condo complex. We've rented houses/condos for about 15 years and this one was the most well stocked condo we've ever rented. From paper towels and garbage bags to kitchen equipment this condo had it covered. Communication was great with Holly when we had questions or issues. Overall it was a pretty good experience. We will miss sitting on that lanai for sure.
