Dunes & Waves Retreat - Perfect Lake Getaway

This stylish and modern 4-bedroom, 2-bath home is perfect for big families or peaceful getaways. Relax around the fire or take a short walk (3-4 min) to Lake Michigan. Located near the well known Lighthouse and Silver Lake State Park, enjoy cherry picking, riding the dunes and snowmobiles, cross-country skiing, or unwinding on the beach. Experience the beauty of West Michigan from this serene retreat. The property has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with a 6-seat hot tub, fire pit, access to kayaks, paddle boards to use in Lake or river and yard games! We have a fun Ms Pac-man arcade game and a Nintendo Switch. Large family room with wood burning fire place and quality TV. We provide one duraflame log that will provide a fire for around 3 hours or more during your stay and one stack of wood for the fire pit outside. If you want additional fires, there are lots of places to buy wood. Board games are available in the stand below the TV and closet bunk bed room. Dinning Room as a table that seats 8 comfortably as well as porch table and chairs. In-Unit laundry is available and is in the closet close to the main door. All bedrooms and the main room have electric baseboard heating and their own heating/air conditioner. This will allow for you to stay warm in the winter months and cool in the summer while choosing the temperature you'd like for your sleeping room. I've tried to create an amazing outdoor haven for your trip! Here is what is available with more being added all the time.

We loved our stay! Home was beautiful, extremely clean, & exactly as described. David was awesome at communicating quickly and even gave recommendations for local spots to explore. Would definitely return!

Our stay here was perfect for a getaway for 4 friends. It is a great house tucked away in the woods and has a great location for walking to the beach and Little Au Sable lighthouse. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and would have made a couple fires in the outdoor fire pit if the weather had not been so hot and humid. We appreciated that all 4 bedrooms (with individual temperature controls) were on the first floor and the indoor space with wood burning fireplace was comfy. Communication with David, the host, was very easy and prompt and offered good suggestions for area highlights. We explored the Silver Lake area and took a fun dune ride, went to the Fox Barn Winery and had some great pizza in Hart.

Great Place!

This is a great rental property. The house is well equipped and very close to the beach. The kids used the kayaks and paddled to the lake from their launch area across the street. The owners are responsive and easy to communicate with, five stars!

Lots to offer

The rental is stocked with lots of things to do. We appreciated the beach supplies and games. It is close to the beach, but the beach access is small area where the river connects to Lake Michigan. We enjoyed the Lighthouse Beach down the street, definitely family friendly. Quick drive to Silver Lake. We enjoyed being close to everything but just far enough from the crowds.

We had a wonderful stay! So comfortable. Lots of little bonuses beyond what we anticipated. Shampoo, conditioner & body wash in the showers. Kids loved the tetherball in the backyard and old-school, arcade-style video games in back bedroom! So fun. Foot rinse by the back door/hot tub. We used the grill, hot tub, campfire, washer/dryer, all kinds of things in the kitchen. As expected, if you have people taking long, hot showers or multiple showers in a row, you might run out of hot water for a bit. House is about 10 min walk to the lighthouse, or you can drive and park there if you get/have a state park pass. Creek was shallow but still fine for kayak/paddleboard; got a little higher after some rain while we stayed. Tiny little public beach area at the end of the creek (Golden Township), right down at the bend of the road. Can easily walk, kayak, or park down there; it’s so close. There’s a sandbar that kind of separates the end of the creek a bit from the Lake Michigan waters too which is a nice option for little ones to play in if Lake Michigan is scary at any point (there was a NWS beach hazard warning for 24 hrs during our stay). Unfortunately can’t walk along the beach from Golden Township to lighthouse as it’s private beach property in-between (although technically you could walk in the water of Lake Michigan down to the lighthouse and not be trespassing). Owner was accommodating and responsive to messages; we appreciated everything so much! Wish we could do every year!
