Very nice cabin, well equipped and clean. Great Pond (lake) with clear water and nice dock area for swimming and kayaking (2 included in rental!). Lots of great hiking trails and interesting towns to visit
Great location. Outstanding view. Property was extremely clean and organized. Great fishing. Close to shopping and restaurants. Property management was readily available for any questions or concerns. Will definitely be back.
Had a wonderful visit for a long weekend. Some great fishing in Bear Pond, some great meals out in Bridgton, Oxford and Norway (try 290Main).
House is great. Small and charming. Hosts were awesome and very helpful.
Loved the coziness and small touches. The bear theme was great. Kayak on the pond or lake, was so relaxing. Lots of nice outdoor porches to sit and think.
My family had a great time at "Bear Rising Camp". Location is close to all we wanted to do in the area. Had all the necessities needed for the stay and was a grocery store 15 minutes down the road. Bear pond is a clean and quiet pond. Swimming, fishing, sunsets on the dock and kayaking were all great.
It was very thing we wanted. If you like water it was nice and clean when we stayed it was hot so it was nice to take dip in the pond. The cabin is very lovely
I loved the cottage- it was very comfortable and cozy. It was right on the water. I even saw a couple loons swim by fairly close to the dock. The camp had everything I needed. The weather was great, only one rainy afternoon so I could do my jigsaw puzzle! The owners were very easy to reach and very helpful. I would rent again.
Breathtaking views, all the ammenities needed and wonderful hosts at this lovely vacation camp. Our hosts were responsive to the few questions we had while there and the place was equipped with everything that we could want to spend a beautiful week relaxing, fishing, swimming and kayaking at Bear Pond, playing games and watching movies. The nearby quaint small towns had local stores to shop and visit, and Portland, Lewiston and other larger cities were within a reasonable drive for day visits. Perfect week in Maine!
We could not say enough wonderful things about Bear Rising Camp. This was our second time there, and first time with the new owners.
The cabin is a wonderful mix of modern amenities and old charm and character. The outdoor space (deck with grill, chairs, etc) and dock are where we love to sit and enjoy, fish, read, or kayak around the pond. Inside we had everything needed for cooking meals, playing games and relaxing. The coffee and tea bar was over the top especially since we all look forward to that morning cup of coffee.
I could not think of a single thing that would make this camp any more amazing! Thanks again and we look forward to our next visit to Maine and Bear Pond.
We spent one week in August at Bear Rising Camp. We had a great time - we had a beautiful house with an amazing view of Bear Pond, well equipped kitchen, a porch with a grill and chairs for relaxing, and everything you need for outdoor water activities, like kayaks and a boat. We will remember this vacation for a long time and already dream of returning there again. Thank you Rick and Donna!
We had a great weekend at Bear Rising Camp. We were in the area for a wedding at Camp Waziyatah. This was a great location. Only a few minute drive to the wedding. The camp was very well furnished. Kitchen fully stocked. Grill and deck were great. We used the kayaks several times over the weekend. Owner's were great to communicate with. We would definitely rent again if ever in the area. Thanks for a great stay.
Process was easy from booking to check in to communication with the owners.
I love the detail they put into making the stay easy. Cell service and wifi can be spotty in that area, they left a binder that has directions to get to some of the local and tourist locations making it easy to navigate!
The movie collection was great for winding down at night.
The first full day of our stay there was a ton of rain that put the dock completely under water. When we made the owners aware they had someone come out the very same day to raise it.
Will stay here again!
We had a great time at Bear Rising Camp! After a few very hot days we finally had beautiful Maine weather-low 80's with a nice breeze. We enjoyed the kayaks, swimming and hanging out on the dock. The traffic noise took a few days to get used to( just shut a few windows so the trucks didn't wake us!). We also visited Bridgton and Portland. Such a nice respite from the crazy 2020 year!! Beautiful views from every room,I am missing Bear Pond already.
We went to Maine for our 40th anniversary. The cabin it situated on beautiful Bear Pond directly overlooking the water. We enjoyed our morning coffee and sometimes afternoon glass of wine sitting on the deck watching the loons which was awesome. Given it’s close proximity to the road there was some traffic noise but this was disclosed in the listing. The cabin includes all amenities one would need. We had a hiccup occur as we arrived relating to the cleaners but the owner was very communicative and was apologetic.
We had a great time at Bear Rising Camp. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house, upper deck felt very close to the water, dock was outstanding. We had great weather, got a little warm by end of the week but being on the water, we enjoyed the nice breezes and swimming in very clear water. We were also able to enjoy two fires before it became to hot but was just enough. House had all you needed, a little shy on the silver wear but plenty of dishes and glasses. Rick and Donna were outstanding from check in to check out. Definitely check it out!
We had a wonderful two week stay, part vacationing and part working overlooking Bear Pond. We found the cabin comfortable and well thought out and equipped. There were plenty of board games, movies, pegs to hang towels, kitchen equipment to allow us to cook - and kayaks to let us enjoy the water. The lake water was surprisingly warm and very swimmable in June/July!
The owners were very open about the cabin being on a fast road, so it came as no surprise to us. We were able to scout out a few short hikes a very close drive away, which took the place of morning walks since the road does not have a shoulder that permits comfortable walking with traffic.

Bear Rising Camp is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Maine.
The camp is just an hour from Maine's coastline, and the White Mountains. It's conveniently located near several local attractions as well. I enjoyed waking up to a scenic view of the lake each morning and a cup of coffee on the peaceful quiet of the lake. The camp is clean and well maintained inside and out with all the comforts to make for a great week away from home. We cooked simple meals in the well stocked kitchen, watched movies several nights from the camp's extensive movie collection, and used camp kayaks and life jackets to explore the lake. The camp is very private, but is situated beside a road so you need to be careful with small children. We would definitely return to Bear Rising Camp on our next visit to Maine for more hiking, kayaking, exploring, and relaxing!
Our primary reason for this stop is as an amazing fair Fryburg. Needed something close but not too close. We’re accustomed to lake cabins in our area so decided on yours. So pleased with our choice. Our only issue was a member of our group hurt their back before our stay and the stairs and upstairs bathroom was an issue. We made due perfectly and your description stated not handicap accessible. We spent time on the deck bird watching and enjoying nature. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us. Go Pack Go. Thanks from Wisconsin Amy.
We loved the view of Bear Pond, bed mattresses were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. Instructions for check-in and check-out were clear. It was good having kayaks and life jackets.
We do have a couple of suggestions. The toilet upstairs where it meets the floor leaks a bit and needed to be wiped up often. The smoke detector at the top of the stairs was removed and laying on the windowsill, so that needs to be addressed for safety. We bought plenty of bottled water after reading that we shouldn’t drink the water. Seems like the water should be tested. We read the instructions for cleaning the grill but it had not been done for a while. The grates were clean, but the lower pan looked like it had not been cleaned all summer and had a half inch of grease and debris. We cleaned it before we used it so that it wouldn’t catch fire and burn the food. Lastly, as we were packing up to leave, I looked up and noticed that I. Had parked under a large pine tree with multiple dead branches, 3 to 5 inches thick hanging over
my car.
We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend and loved the spot and camp. We just thought you might want these issues brought to your attention as hosts.
Thanks, Lance Ballard
A great week in a beautiful spot. Owners were very thoughtful and communicative. Only thing was the road noise, but the listing was very up front about that and it really wasn't a big deal... definitely didn't diminish our enjoyment of the lake. We would definitely come back!
It was nice walking into the camp; it smelled so clean! Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay; having the linens were a great touch.
The only downside, which the owners had no control over were the music events at the nearby inn. The music was loud during two evenings; 6 - 9PM; couldn't hear the loons..
I appreciated the quick email responses to the few questions I had. Thank you!
Great cabin on a peaceful, clean and warm pond. Kayaking, swimming and fishing. Private, close to N. Conway, Sebago and more for day trips. The only tiny issue is the car traffic can be loud during peak hours.
