Borrego Springs holiday retreat

Lovely and spacious house in a beautiful setting. It easily accommodated seven adults for our annual holiday retreat between Christmas and New Years. We played golf, went hiking, and enjoyed hours of time together sharing meals, games, songs, laughter, and endless conversation. The owner was highly responsive and friendly.

BEWARE - Good Property, But Don't Expect Fair Compensation If You Have Any Issues

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend. We arrived & turned on the a/c in the main house & in the 2br/2ba casita. We quickly realized the a/c in the casita was not working (it was 107 in Borrego that day), nor was the WIFI. I contacted the owners & their handyman came out the same day. He confirmed the a/c fan was broken & set up a portable a/c unit in 1 of the bedrooms. He didn't connect the condensation hose, so the water leaked throughout the bedroom. I was put on a conference call with one of the owners & the internet/cable provider (the owner also had me to call the internet provider again the next day). After a series of tests & resets it was determined the router needed to be replaced. Our second day there the owners arrived in the late afternoon with a small window a/c unit & placed it in the living room area of the casita. They also brought a DVD player (the house didn't have one & we weren't able to stream off a Fire Stick I brought) They installed an a/c unit meant for a horizontal window in a vertically opening window. They propped it up outside with trash cans, inside with stacked plastic shelves & covered the window opening with cardboard/duct tape. The casita never cooled down enough to sleep in, so we left the a/c unit on, hoping that on our last day we would be able to use the casita. In the late morning of our final full day, I checked the temperature in the casita & found water all over the counter-top & floor. The window a/c unit had been installed with the condensation release point on the inside of the casita. I turned off the a/c unit, cleaned up the water & had to wash a load of towels. At this point, I didn't bother to call the owners. I was tired of dealing with the issues & we were leaving the next morning. I just wanted to enjoy what was left of my vacation. Also, the spa doesn't work. When I asked the owners where the controls for the spa jets were, they didn't know. I understand things break. However, when I asked for a discount due to no WIFI, the inability to use both bedrooms in the casita & my time spent on the issues, I was offered a refund of $200 & 20% off the next time I book the property. I voiced my disappointment in their offer & asked for a refund of 1 night's stay. The owners asked to discuss the issues over the phone (we had been corresponding via email). I gave them times that I would be available, they told me twice they would call but never did. I have not received a refund.

Birthday celebration

Beautiful house, great location & plenty of space for a nice family gathering. My only suggestion is maybe to update the stovetop, it doesn’t work that great. Otherwise a really nice house.

Borrego on the golf course.

Beautiful house, beautiful setting. Some interesting configurations of rooms. Perfect for three distinct family units. The guest house has two bedroom and sitting area and a shared bathroom. The main house has one separate en-suite bedroom and the master bedroom needs a door on the toilet for privacy from the sitting area in the master suite which has an extra bedroom which opens into the master bathroom area, including the toilet. That said I loved this house, it was perfect for us.

Resort like!

Beautiful, big home on a well manicured golf course. Pool & yard are expansive yet very private. Lots of chairs, patio areas & games galore. Ping ping, bocce ball & pool toys. Gorgeous Mountain View’s. Kitchen stocked with every appliance, utensils & dishware. So relaxing & serene!!!

2020 Borrego Golf Outing

This unit was one of four we rented for our golf outing. Based on it's close proximity to the club house at de Anza Country Club it came in handy as our place to get together prior to heading out for another great day of golf. We had 16 golfers and the unit never felt crowded. In fairness we had rented the home last year and will try to utilize it again next year.

The house is in a great location right on the 10th fairway. The home is in excellent shape. It was clean and furnished with everything you need. The owners were very accommodating and allowed us an early check-in due to our circumstances and that was truly appreciated. However, the picture of the pool is very misleading as we were very excited to swim in the pool we saw in the picture, but not excited to swim in the pool that we saw when we arrived. The pool was very dirty and obviously was not being maintained. There was no diving board and for the most part none of our group decided to swim in the pool because of how dirty it was.

Happy in Borrego

Awesome space!

This is an awesome space to experience the magic of the Anza Borrego Desert. The house has beautiful views from the front and the back yards as well as from within the house. We celebrated the New Years week here with family and friends, and it couldn't have been more wonderful. The kitchen is full sized with a large enough eating table to accommodate our party. There is also a large dining room table, a spacious great room with a fireplace that we happily lit up for New Year's Eve, plenty of space in the bedrooms and overall nice, comfortable furniture throughout the house. We rode their bikes through the neighborhood and into the desert at sunset, sat around the outdoor firepit to stargaze at night, jumped in the pool for a great wake-up and got good sleep in their comfortable beds. It's close to town and many amazing hiking trails. The owners are very nice and accommodating. They were immediately responsive to our needs. We felt warmly welcomed. We highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to experience the wonder of the Borrego Springs area.
