The stereotype of luxury LOG CABIN

Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 5 nights

About the property

This Log Home was built 6 years ago with the desire to create an elegant, cozy yet open lodge. The gnarly character logs that support the large open structure are truly beautiful. There is fine wood and beautiful appointments throughout. The sun that streams in through the windows makes one feel as though they are in a truly magical place. If you seek to be restful and at peace in one of the nicest environments you can imagine- come to our home.

About Dylan Beeson

Stacy and Dylan are young professionals who seek solace from our stressful jobs in our log home. When we are not in McCall waterskiing, hiking and fly-fishing... we are at home in Boise, Idaho- dreaming of the next time we will be able to get up to the cabin.

Dylan Beeson purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Dylan Beeson chose McCall

This property is not like any other property you will see in Mccall. It has soul... A family heirloom maple butcher block table to drink coffee and wine around, fine Thomas Moser cherry antiques and oak ice chests. The woodwork is stunning. There is a fine fly-fishing hole on the payette river a 5 minute walk away.

What makes this cabin unique

A gorgeous Log home with Hot Tub, beautiful appointments, a 3 minute drive to the lake or town.

McCall Idaho is a magical gem of a community. Brundage Mt. has incredible powder. Payette Lake is a stunning high alpine lake. The town is Sunset Magazine quaint. In one day you may hike, waterski, sail, fly-fish, golf or simply laze on the beach.

Good, could be better.

We enjoyed our stay here in order to be close to the solar eclipse totality path. Beautiful cabin but lacked attention to detail:

Microwave not working (owner had let us know), underside filter was filthy and no light over stovetop.

Limited pots for cooking. Cabinet contents in disarray - categories completely mixed up.

No closet or storage in downstairs bedroom, bed very (too) soft.

No paper towels, no soap/body wash in bathrooms (other VRBO rentals where we have stayed at least had a minimum).

Dead bugs in window sills, some windows missing screens.

A washer/dryer would be awesome!

That said, we had a hilarious adventure with a bat that snuck into the house our first evening. Forty-five minutes of questionable strategies argued by reasonably intelligent adults ensued, but we eventually managed to stun, capture and release the little guy. Note: this is NOT a complaint!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your very specific feedback. Most of this feedback seems perceptual- However, The microwave has been replaced along with the filter. We are here now and the amount of pots and pans are everything a good cook would ever want. We pride ourselves on providing a crystal clean home and as i look around that is what i find. I did see a couple of bugs on the window sill and some pollen- this happens in cabins in the mountains. It is an incredibly beautiful, serene, peaceful home in an incredible setting and i am sad that it didnt meet your expectations.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Really nice. Only comment would be that it would have been nice to have somewhere to put clothes. Either a closet or dressers. But that doesn't change the fact that the was a super place to stay.

Fantastic Family Adventure

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a fun and relaxing stay in this beautiful McCall cabin. There was plenty of room for our group of 5 adults and 3 children. The cabin had the feel of being out in the woods with the luxury of being a short drive into town for the forgotten grocery items or a morning espresso run to the drive thru at Wild River Java (our new favorite coffee stop when in McCall). The short walk down to the river for fishing and swimming was a daily adventure the kids loved! Bring your kayaks, we did, and have a blast floating from near town down to the swimming area. Beautiful wooden area for short hikes and quiet relaxing evenings (once all the kids are asleep) in the hot tub. The owners, Dylan & Stacy, are great and even helped out with a few personal requests we had. This will definitely be a place our family will return to again and again :)

Fun & Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a great stay at this cabin. It looked just like the photos which were on the advertisement. The neighborhood is quiet and close to town. The hot tub was fun to relax in and the bed was comfortable. The house was clean upon arrival and we had no issues with this rental.
