This unique, open floorplan home has custom rockwork, artwork and woodwork throughout, themed bedrooms, as well as an additional private Library and separate Theatre Room with a queen sofa sleeper~making a 5th bdrm.

The 1500 sq ft Master Suite is very private - on the 2nd story in a separate wing - and includes it's own kitchenette, his and hers separate bathrooms, extra large custom granite walk-in shower, huge sunken jacuzzi tub with corner windows and mountain views, a separate specially designed make-up area for her, and an extra large walk-in closet with his and hers dressers.

The Master Suite and the Bunkhouse room both have their own loveseat/table/chair living spaces with TVs. All bathrooms have custom tilework. The downstairs Fisherman's Room has an old fashioned tub, and an old saloon styled toilet closet. The upstairs Balcony Room has a private outdoor balcony, where you can have your morning cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over Emigrant Peak, as well as a French Provincial indoor balcony that opens to the Atrium with its wall of windows, and ceiling of skylights looking out toward golden hills and the Gallatin Mountain range with unobstructed views.

On the Main Floor, with it's open floor-plan and 12-14' high ceilings, is a huge sunken living room with a cozy ranch-style atmosphere, a giant stone custom fire place, two large cowboy sofas and extra window seating perfect for intimate family gatherings.

This wonderful open floor plan seamlessly integrates the library and media rooms, as well as the kitchen, bar, dining, living, and outdoor cooking/eating areas together to offer a spacious, yet comfortable, warm atmosphere for entertaining family and guests.

The giant dining room table easily accommodates large groups of 10 with additional seating for 4 at the serving bar.

Beautiful home in a gorgeous setting.

  • 4 of 5

While the weather didnt cooperate we were able to make the best of it in the Sun Home. Beautiful fireplace we used every night and also a nice fire pit out back that the kids used frequently. Amazing views from every bedroom when you wake up in the morning. The house is large enough to accomidate 10 people comfortably and if you need a little peace and quite there are still areas to get away. We have a great time and will definetly return!

Enjoyed our stay. !!

  • 4 of 5

The house worked out well for our family to gather and spend quality time together. In addition, there was plenty of room if you wanted some privacy. We would stay here again.

My only recommendation would be to have a book of instructions and rules for the property. (how to adjust the heat as we could not get it to change when we tried, what should be done to check out etc. ) Thank you for the use of your home we enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

What a beautiful home... the views from every room in the house were amazing... the kids enjoyed sledding down the hill and roasting s'mores and hot dogs in the fireplace... be prepared to drive as it is remote in the winter... the amenities of the home were well equipped...Abram was great as well...

Our Christmas Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Part of our family lives in the state of Washington, the other in North Dakota. We decided to meet half way to be together and enjoy our Christmas time together. We were all in awe of the beautiful home that greeted us at the end of a long journey. The setting was more than we had expected. It was like coming home for the holidays. We were welcomed by the owner's father, and then entered our Christmas paradise. The kitchen was fully stocked with the essentials. All we needed to do was fill the home with the familiar smells of cookies baking, and home cooked meals. The adults and children alike walked around in the winter wonderland, sledding down he hills, listening to the wolves howl, the coyotes yip, the elk bugling. We were thrilled to look up to see the deer looking in the windows at us several times. We sat by the fireplace and sipped hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows. We all felt like we were home for the holidays.. we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back again, and have already recommended this place to our friends and families. Thank you for making our Family Christmas perfect in every way.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

If you are going to Montana, I would not recommend staying anywhere else. The owner of the Sun House is beyond accommodating and really went out of his way to make our stay everything we wanted it to be and more. He took the time to answer all of my questions and suggested places to visit. He knew how late we were arriving and took the time to go to the Sun House and turn on all the lights for us, so that it would be easy to find. He stayed up late, making sure we arrived safely and found the house. I would say he goes way beyond what is expected to make your stay special and I don't know of any other owner that would do that. Although we arrived at the house in the middle of the night, we couldn't help but look around the house for hours. It is beyond beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. I would spend each morning alone just looking around. It is clean, spacious, accommodating, and what I would describe as a "castle". We enjoyed exploring Montana and Yellowstone but really enjoyed just hanging out in the house just as much. We enjoyed a fire and playing games with new friends. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. You really need a whole week to explore and relax. We can't wait to go back!

Thanksgiving Get away

  • 5 of 5

Our family gathered together to celebrate the holiday and spend some time together. The house was truly homey and very welcoming. My kids all love cooking so it had plenty of room for everyone to cook Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to have the crackling fire at night while playing games. The guys enjoyed going fishing and saw large herds of deer, elk and big horn sheep. They also said they caught fish but released them. They did bring three back the second day. Chico is just a short drive away and the hot springs were relaxing for the kids, moms and grandma. The house is truly in a great location and is exactly as pictured in the video.

We are talking of booking in the summer so that we can have access to Yellowstone and use the outdoor fire pit and other amenities.
