Overview

About the property

Waterfront Home with 3.5 Acres, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 10)

Whether you are planning a quiet, relaxing vacation or an active getaway that includes water sports and numerous other outdoor activities, you will have the best of both worlds with this modern, spacious home that includes many desired amenities.

This property is located adjacent to St. Michaels, a picturesque harbor town on Maryland's Eastern Shore that was named one of the top 10 best small coastal towns in America by USA Today. This private, waterfront home has four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It boasts all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel and more, including high quality linens and towels, a gourmet kitchen with multiple refrigerators for convenient entertaining, a dining room that seats 10, a living room with a wood burning fireplace, an enclosed porch, a screened in deck with a hot tub and warming hut, premium cable from May through November, two washer and dryers, Wi-Fi and a Graco Pack n Play.

Unwind by curling up with a good book on the enclosed porch, spend time watching the abundant birds and wildlife in the back yard using the wild bird spotting scope, or enjoy the views from the hot tub located on the screened in deck with an adjacent private warming hut. Take a quiet walk in the wildlife sanctuary just minutes from the house or take advantage of the available bikes for a ride on one of the many area bike trails. Spend time enjoying the view on the ferry to Oxford to watch a spectacular sunset.

For those early morning risers, a cup of coffee and a beautiful sunrise viewed from the dock is the start of a beautiful day. If a nap is in order, you can lounge in the LLBean hammock and let the soft summer breeze and sounds of the water lapping at the water’s edge lull you to sleep.

For the sports enthusiasts we have a boat slip for sailing, with a boat ramp less than a mile from our home. You can rent or bring your own boat to set sail on the Chesapeake. Run your toes through the sand on the small beach area where you can easily launch the two available kayaks and challenge your opponent to a race. Grab the fishing poles and crab traps to use off the dock, so you can bring home the freshest fish/crab dinner you’ve ever had along with bragging rights. Take a spin on one of the (4) adult bikes and (1) child's bike on the many biking trails or in the wildlife sanctuaries. Head to Tilghman Island, a 15 minute drive, where you can rent water skis, pontoon boats, sailboats and paddle boards. Take advantage of the many premier public golf courses in the area. As the sun sets on another perfect day on the Eastern Shore, you can play a game of volleyball followed by a splash in the hot tub.

If you desire a night on the town, St. Michaels is a short 10 minute drive. Dine on the water at the Crab Claw or Town Dock restaurants or visit the St. Michaels Winery & Brewery. In the summer, enjoy concerts at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum and visit the many shops and arts & crafts exhibits. In December, enjoy “Christmas in St. Michaels”. Football fans can enjoy Navy football with Annapolis an hour away.

We would be more than happy to help organize your trip to ensure that you have an unforgettable stay. We’ve been on VRBO for more than five years and have numerous five star reviews. We are committed to ensuring that you have a great stay!

The main body of water is the Chesapeake Bay. Major tributaries off the Choptank River are Broad Creek, the Miles River and Leadenham Creek. All have very safe waters for power craft with 3 feet or less of draft. Waterways run from 5 to 20 feet of depth. There is great crabbing and fishing in these waters.

Like staying in a 5-star hotel, but better

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in April 2017 with two families (four adults, four kids) and it was exactly as described, if not better. The house is spotless, well appointed and designed so everything is oriented to the wonderful water view. The master bedroom suite has a gorgeous view, gas fireplace, deep jacuzzi tub and shower with steambath. Need I say more? The hot tub worked great. The house is set back from the road, so it's perfectly quiet. We'd love to go back!

Wonderful and comfortable house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time spending a long weekend at Snug Cove. Everything was well organized, incredibly clean, and quite spacious. We fit 8 adults very easily, cooked and enjoyed wonderful meals with a beautiful views of the cove. The fireplace was well stocked with wood and Jackie was helpful with any questions we had. We look forward to returning.

We loved Snug Cove!

  • 5 of 5

We just had a delightful stay at Snug Cove with our three adult children and their significant others. The beautiful setting set among tall pine and oak trees with a water front view was perfect. We found the accommodations to be top notch and having four bedrooms each with there own private baths was ideal for our family of eight. The home was clean and offered almost everything we needed for our six day stay. We took advantage of the Adirondack chairs every morning enjoying our coffee and the water view with geese flying over head. All the amenities were utilized including kayaks, bicycles, volleyball net, warming hut with hot tub, Mr Steamy shower and heated towel racks. My husband and I loved the view from the master bedroom and it was a treat to wake up on cool mornings and be able to switch on the gas fireplace in our bedroom. We even used the crab traps off the dock and caught eight blue crabs but we released them all, opting instead to travel to St Michael's to enjoy plenty of crab at the local restaurants such as Awful Arthur's and Limoncello. The only negatives was the need for better cookware in the kitchen, a few extra staples and the exterior of the house could use to be cleaned up with plenty of spider webs about. All in all a delightful stay on the eastern shore of Maryland and if we return we will certainly look to book our stay again at Snug Cove!

Owner's Response: Thank you for this terrific review! This is so well written and gives the reader a true sense of what our home has to offer and what it is like to stay there. We truly appreciate the feedback on the cookware and extra staples and have already ordered everything and instructed our cleaning service. Spider webs are a constant problem living by the water and in a private wooded setting, we thoroughly power wash the house every spring and will now add a second cleaning in the late summer/fall. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and it goes without saying that we would be thrilled to have you stay with us again. Enjoy the upcoming holidays and thanks again for choosing our home for your vacation.

Beautiful property!

Pictures do not do this property justice. Stayed for an extended weekend with my wife and three children. There were plenty of activities to keep the children occupied while the hot tub and warming hut was the perfect source of relaxation for my wife and I. I would HIGHLY recommend this home for a family looking for a quick get away!

So relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this house! It was well-stocked with things like paper towels, condiments, and even bait for the crab pots. We took advantage of many extras - volleyball net, crab pots, kayaks, bikes, fishing, etc and everyone ages 1-67 had a blast. The master bedroom upstairs is gorgeous and we all enjoyed the screened in decks as well. We'll definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay, especially since this is your first time to the Eastern Shore, and had a chance to use the volleyball set, crab off the pier, the kayaks, bikes and fishing poles, I sure hope your father in law caught a lot of fish since this is one of his favorite past times. It goes without saying that it would be our absolute pleasure to host you and your family again since you were a delight to work with. Enjoy the remaining days of summer and we look forward to hearing from you again hopefully in the not too distant future.
