About Terry Towles or Leslie McClaugherty

This is the second home we have owned in Maggie Valley. We built this house ourselves as our home away from home in Florida. After retirement we moved to Maggie for the relaxed, peaceful environment but knowing fully there were still plenty of things to do here. I hope you enjoy your stay and much as we have enjoyed living here.

Why Terry Towles or Leslie McClaugherty chose Crocketts Meadow

We wanted a place that was easy to get to with lots of room for the grandchildren to run around and lots of things for them to do.

What makes this house unique

Lots of parking, spacious rooms, large yard, fabulous mountain views from the wraparound deck and easy access to town.

Great Accommodation! Just like being at Grandmother's house.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful place for a family vacation. My husband and I took our family for a long weekend. The house was clean and fit our needs perfectly. We stayed on the main floor. Our two children and their spouses each had a bedroom on the lower level. Our four granddaughters enjoyed staying in the bunk room situated between their parents' rooms. Terry and Leslie are super to work with!

My family and I loved this beautiful spacious home! The scenic view of the mountains is amazing! Loved sitting on the huge rap around porch drinking in the scenic view of God's majesty displayed in the mountains, sunrise and sunset! Everything we needed was just minutes away! Highly recommend!

Well-Furnished and Comfortable Place for an Extended Family!

  • 5 of 5

Our family -- 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 kids -- traveled to NC for the solar eclipse of August 21, 2017, and we selected this cottage primarily because of its proximity to the area of maximum eclipse totality, but it was also perfect for our needs. We grandparents took the king-bedroom on the main floor, while our daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren slept on the lower level and even had a spare bedroom as the 3 kids stayed together in a room with 3 twin beds. The cottage was well furnished with everything we needed (except food, of course) for preparing breakfasts and dinners. We would advise visitors to bring everything they need in the way of food and beverages, because there is no nearby grocery store. We enjoyed seeing 2 elk outside the cottage on the first morning! We viewed the eclipse from Franklin, NC, about a 45-minute drive away; it was a wonderfully welcoming community that outdid itself on this special day, but I am very confident that it will also be a great place to visit in ordinary times. Great shops and restaurants, and very nice people!
