Stayed here for a family gathering and it was perfect! Plenty of room in the house to gather and eat or hang out. Outside space was amazing with lots of spaces to sit and enjoy the scenery. Steve was great at communicating with me and accommodating. Very private, very clean, highly recommend!

Thanks for the great review. Hope you will come back again.
This place is gorgeous and functional with lovely art and furniture and many comfortable places for conversation. The art was also well placed to not be a worry for the 2 kids in our group damaging anything. Perfect fir a multi family gathering with a lot of catching up to do!
House was a wonderful find! Perfect for a mini family reunion. Great separation for different family groups combined with a kitchen area that promoted gatherings. The host was extremely accessible yet respected privacy. Highly recommend visiting the nearby petroglyph site and the open air museum at Las Golondrinas.

Thanks for the great review Paul and hope you come back sometime with the family or friends. Nice you were able to experience some rain while here.
Beautiful house! Great location for our needs! It is very near to the Santa Fe Airport if that is needed by anyone. The hosts were fantastic, responding very quickly to our needs. Only a few miles to the nearest shopping and restaurants, which were all very good. Will book again when we return!

It was a pleasure having you and your friends stay at my house. You left it in good shape. I look forward to your next visit to Santa Fe.
Our stay included a group of three women, all visiting New Mexico for our friend’s quest to visit all 50 states before she turns 50. So we were looking for access to museums, good food, but also relaxation. The house was absolutely lovely for all those requirements. We all had so much room, and the house is well-stocked, which can be rare for homes on VRBO. The check-in and check-out process is easy and Stephen is very responsive should you need anything. There are multiple areas to lounge, either outside or indoors. We were all genuinely sad to leave. It was an excellent stay. Recommend highly!
I traveled with 8 adults total and one child. The host is great, and the house and property is very cozy and relaxing. It’s a little out of Santa Fe but I did not find it to be a challenge to get to and from amenities and restaurants. If I ever travel to Santa Fe again then I will definitely stay again.

Thanks for the good review Roy. You are more than welcome to visit again anytime. Hope the trip back home was good.
The home and the land were very spacious and beautiful with lots of Zen nooks for you to relax and meditate in. The decor was gorgeous and soulful, perfect for our girlfriend's stay. The kitchen was well stocked with modern appliances that were helpful. The location is a little bit away from the actual town so if you don't have a car you will need to Uber. The sunsets were beautiful. Stephen was a kind and responsive host. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!
The house is large, with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. It is nicely decorated and very clean. The kitchen has every appliance one might need. The neighborhood is private but the owner lives nearby and is available to handle any issues. We had one issue early in our stay with the hot water and Stephen (owner) discovered a tripped circuit breaker and fixed it in minutes.

About the host
Hosted by Stephen Schmidt
I lived in this house for 19 years and have been remodeling and expanding it for the last 4 years. I redid a garage and storeroom into a small house my wife and moved into which allowed us to rent the big house. I was an importer of folk art from Indonesia mainly for 25 years. During that time I spent my free time kayaking and rafting, hiking and climbing, and a few years paragliding around the world. I am a beekeeper and have a few hives at the house in back.
Why they chose this property
It is a rural setting and there is only one house abutting my property, with county open space behind with the Santa Fe river, and across the front is airport buffer zone land. So it is quiet generally, but still close to town.
What makes this property unique
The house is very close to so many things. Equestrian develpment 1/4 mile away. The La Cienagilla petroglyphs (over a thousand) about a mile away. Ranchos de la Golondrinas about 3 miles and close to that Ojo Santa Fe Spa 3.7 miles away. The ski area and access to hiking is about one hour drive on a winding scenic road. Hiking close to the house or 20 minutes to national forests trails. Bike trails abound. Night skies are full of stars being far enough away from the city lights. Hot springs are relatively close, and so is Bandelier National Monument and the Pecos National Historic site.
