The pictures and description portrayed the condo perfectly. There is a cute little bar/restaurant right next door...so convenient. The condo location and ocean view were perfect.

We come down to go to the beach and play golf with our teen boys. This until is clean and spacious enough for 4. We plan to come back again in the future!

Not the Best Experience

Except I woke one morning to a huge cockroach in the sink. I handled that scenario only to discover another one the following day on the floor. Never saw an actual Anchorage Rentals employee. Received automated texts instead.

Unfortunately we do have palmetto bugs as we are the palmetto state. They are very similar looking to cockroaches and can be sneaky getting into units when doors are opened. We spray every other week for bugs and can assure you that the units are treated. Please reach out to us the next time during your stay so we can send maintenance over to handle the situation or even send us a photo so we may address this for you. We are here to address any questions or concerns during your stay. We hope you will consider us again for your future stay.

If this was my first experience staying here I’d never go back

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For what we paid for the week, there condo (#217) we stayed in was in awful shape. There were huge dust balls stuck all over the wall and ceiling of the master bedroom. The blanket on the master bed was black around all the edges and looked like it hadn’t been washed in a year. The main sliding door was very difficult to open and the master was complete broke on its hinges. The stove only had one functioning burner that only worked on high. Guest toilet kept running. The door lock mechanism seemed to be on its last leg. We got a text saying it was ready and after we were already inside unpacking a very shady looking lady came in using our code saying she was there to “check it had been cleaned” but she only cared if the floors had been vacuumed.

We will check with our cleaning staff who cleaned your unit and see if they had come back to do their final check. This was my second time staying here. Perfect for a family with little kids. Beach right across the street and the pool on the property. Condos are nice and as advertised. Two bed,two bath. Our shower door was sticking outside of that everything was great.

The homeowners do try to maintain their unit to make it the best possible experience for those who want to enjoy their "home at the beach".Housekeeping has really become top-notch. Kudos to that staff.We have had some issues, but we've been going to Anchorage II for so many years we are very willing and able to resolve any difficulties on our own. The phone number to call always has an answering machine, and they may call you back with any maintenance concerns. Although, they may have a bad phone connection - always getting "disconnected" when finally able to talk with someone. No worries - we manage! Only question I have is: "Why no hairdryers?" Really? After all the years we have been here, the decision to not have hairdryers in the units is baffling. Got a Foreman grill, a sandwich press, many many kitchen appliances - and no hairdryer?Some "management" decisions are hard to understand. The website clearly indicates that the kitchen is fully stocked (only really want a toaster and coffee pot), but no mention to "BYOHD".

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. By any chance did you call our office to let us know there wasn't a hairdryer in the unit? Guest sometimes take them accidently and we don't always catch it. We would have been happy to bring you one up to your condo. I'm not sure what you are referring to with the phone system. We haven't had any issues with our business phone. Maybe you were meaning the condo phone? The owners are in their unit now so I will ask them to check the phone. Close to just about everything you will need but in a beach location that you're not overwhelmed by the high-rise crowds. nice and squeaky

We really liked the unit -- spacious with a great view and a nice kitchen with new appliances. The main problem was the squeaky floor upstairs. For two weeks, we were woken up by it whenever our upstairs neighbors got up and the floor would squeak on and off for at least 30 minutes when they got ready. This varied between 5:50am and 7ish, which is way earlier than what we would like, and resulted in a semi sleep deprived two weeks. We tried to adjust our sleep schedule but time change didn't help the matter. The living room squeaked too during the day, but we happily accepted that compared to the early morning wake up calls. Other minor issues: -- Roaches appeared on two occasions, once before monthly pest control spray and once after. -- Pool was not available even though heated pool was advertised. -- Essentials are provided, but no extra household items like trash bags, toilet paper, etc. And no hair dryer. In summary, a very nice place with a major squeak problem. We would stay there again if upstairs is guaranteed to be vacant or have the same sleep hours as us.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I would suggest next time you would rent a condo on the 3rd floor to avoid having anyone above you walking around. The pool is open in March but is not heated until April, which is very common for outdoor pools in Myrtle Beach. We do provide starter kits with toilet paper, papert towels etc which is listed in your check in letter to prepare you to bring extra from home or pick up when shopping. We would love for you to come back and see how you like the 3 bedroom third floor condo and would be happy to assist you in finding a great place to stay. Anchorage Rentals
