Relaxing and homey
We really enjoyed our time at Chicken Creek. It was a great place for our families to relax and visit with each other. Our kids had a ball playing outside and playing fetch with the friendly dogs. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The only thing we were wishing it had was a dishwasher.
Beautiful home and property! We hope to stay here again the next time we come to Mesa Verde.
The property is just amazing. It has gorgeous views of the mountains with a rushing creek running through it. The craftsmanship of the home is remarkable. The owner and builder is a skilled stonemason and carpenter. The detailed woodwork in the interior is intricate and beautiful. The rooms are furnished with antiques that in and of themselves are prized pieces of art. There is beauty to behold on all fronts inside and out! Our children enjoyed exploring the creek, climbing the treehouse, and throwing the ball for the resident dog. We even got a friendly visit from the horses next door. The accommodations were clean and luxurious. The only thing we missed was a laundry machine. The stay was safe, comfortable, relaxing, and friendly. We hope to come again.
We are having fun at this house and the host is so kind and friendly. We will come back for sure :)
Very relaxing weekend
My husband and I spent the July 4th weekend here and had a wonderful time. We loved the large back porch that overlooked chicken creek and while you are out relaxing on the porch, you can see sheep and horses grazing. Bob and Ursula were very welcoming and filled is in on activities in the area and drives to take. The weather was great when we were there and at night it was very quiet. We would definitely stay there again and have thought about renting out all of the rooms for a family reunion!
Excellent Rental Plus Two Additional B&B Rooms
We had nine people stay in the vacation rental plus the two extra B&B bedrooms. We had a family reunion at Mancos Days which turned out great, especially since my mom, Shirley Whipple, was the Mancos Days Queen! Bob and Ursula were very nice and provided everything we needed. The accommodations were great with our own full kitchen. The view off the top deck was excellent for watching the morning sun and fireworks over the Mancos valley. We had a great time running, biking and hiking in the mountains and took many pictures.
Chicken Creek B & B
Five of us stayed here for four nights and had a wonderful time. We spent most of our time at Mesa Verde and Hovenweep but had plenty of time to visit with Bob and Ursula. Their house is off the main drag with a stream below and a very nice deck to sit on in the evenings. The house was clean and we were provided with many towels, and lots of extras. If you like being off the beaten path after a long day of sightseeing, I highly recommend this home. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.
