The space was perfect for our family of six. We enjoyed the porch overlooking the river! I would highly recommend bringing pop-up shade with you to keep the porch nice and shady. I was thankful that we brought our shed which helped us to enjoy the porch the whole time we were there.
We rented this property with my son and his wife and 2 children, one of my other grandchildren, myself and my husband. We all very much enjoyed the property, the river, the views and the hot tub. Very cozy, and Christmas tree was beautiful!
Our goal is always to have a grill and the home to be a place we can tune to. This home met both of those needs even though the grill wasn’t listed on the VRBO listing. It was a smaller space than expected but was still quite functional for our purpose.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review we can be proud of. We are so thankful to hear that you were able to enjoy your stay at our River Haven property. We take great pride in knowing that our guest can relax and rejuvenate while on vacation.
Enjoyed a fun weekend in the mountains with my son and his three teen friends for the long President’s Day weekend. The place had enough room for the four kids to share the two bedrooms on the opposite side of the house. Comfy bedding in the master. Enjoyed game night on the large dining room table. May have to visit again as the river was so close and looked like fun to explore in warmer weather! Hot tub was a huge hit!!

We really enjoyed our stay at River Haven. The house was very clean, in good shape and convenient to Boone. The only problem was with the Hot Tub location. It is located under the deck on the river side of the house. Privacy is not the issue but access is. If you are wanting to get in it you have to walk down the yard on the side of the house to get to it. This is especially a problem at night because there is no lighting on the sides of the house and it is very dark at that location. For that reason we did not use the Hot Tub at all. I would have prefered it being located on the deck.

Thank you for the feedback. The hot tub is located on the lower level patio / game area and there's actually steps off the left hand side of the deck that lead down directly to the hot tub. There's also exterior porch lighting that easily illuminates the steps as well as the area below. Future guests if you have any questions or experience any issues during your stay please call us so we can help quickly remedy any situations.
We enjoyed our stay at your house. Location is perfect for our needs.

When we arrived cabin had not been cleaned. Ladies responded quickly and were apologetic but it was very disappointing considering the cleaning fees. We definitely left it cleaner than we found it. There were also ants in the kitchen and exterminator never came. House and location were nice,
The property was really nice and on the lake. The hot tub was amazing. We saw deer, squirrels, and birds every day. We really enjoyed our stay. The only issues were: there was a problem with the water. It smelled like sewer every time we turned it on. My hair smelled like it for days. When I called about it, I was assured that it wasn’t sewer smell, but sulfur in the water and they were in contact with the plumber to find a solution for the past two weeks. I really wish we had been told about it before staying and we would have chosen a different time to stay there. The ping pong paddles were broken and the master bath shower hadn’t been cleaned. There were two different color soaps on the curtain and ledge and hairs on the sink. If the issues were fixed, we would for sure stay again.
The location of River Haven was great. It was very quite when we visited. The hot tub was amazing and the view from the hot tub was great.
Cons: the master bath needs a little TLC, but nothing a good coat of paint and show light sheet rock wouldn't fix. Also the threshold from foyer to the master bedroom needs some attention. If you forget to step over it, you can step on a nail that isn't even with the threshold.
Pros: a wonderful view of the river. There's an amazing hot tub that is situated to have a great view. The balcony has numerous access points and is a great spot for your morning coffee. The property manager communicates very well. It's almost the same distance to Boone and West Jefferson.
The mountain house was beautiful and conveniently located to skiing and shopping. The house was comfortable and the views amazing. The hot tub and fire pit was very relaxing. Nice big yard to play while enjoying the river and playing ping pong.
House was a great location on the New River, shallow and slow moving, great for kayaking. Had some luck with fishing too. There are a few places up and down stream to put in or take out. About 10 min up the road you can park at a church in Fleetwood, put in tubes or kayaks and go down stream to get out at the house. We also put in at the house and got out at dickins bottom road public access, this was about 2 hr paddle. The hot tub was very nice!! Not dirty, like some of the other comments mentioned. It does get pretty slick around it though, so be careful. Great yard for cornhole or other yard games. The water did have a sulfer smell, like mentioned in some comments, but I didn't think it was bad. The water from the fridge did not taste weird or have a smell, just the shower water and when you wash your hands. The bed was pretty hard and the blinds didn't keep much light out, this made it pretty difficult to get good sleep. The firepit is nice and the house is close to downtown West Jefferson, which is cute and nice to walk around. Great, relaxing stay overall.
The property was very nice, interior was very clean and very well set up. The exterior was just what I needed, and the location along the river in close to the nearest town but far enough away for peace and quiet. Highly recommended!

This place was amazing. The only 2 issues we had was the smell of the water, and the slippery floor around the hot tub. Other then those, it was amazing!
