Welcome to our comfortable, modern home in Portland’s fantastic Kenton neighborhood! The home is in a wonderful location just a half-block off of Kenton Park, with its great playground, fun splash pad in the summer and lots of open space to run around. Walk across the park to the Kenton Business District on Denver Avenue to get coffee at Posies Cafe, eat great Italian food at Pizza Fino, grab a delicious breakfast at the Cup and Saucer, enjoy a local brew at one of Kenton’s several bars, take a yoga class or get a massage or acupuncture at Kenton Family Wellness, cruise the farmer’s market in the summer months, search for great finds at several antique and secondhand shops or drop in on a story time at the Kenton library!

Make yourself at home in the fully equipped kitchen, where you can make meals from scratch with all the right tools. Includes dishwasher and microwave. Open floor plan flows into dining and living space, where you can cozy up with a book or movie to the light of the gas fireplace. Living room has open layout great for kids spinning circles or playing board games.

Sleep soundly in the king bed in the master suite. Down the hall you’ll find two additional bedrooms. The second bedroom has a twin trundle bed (twin mattress on top and another twin mattress down below that pulls out) and a desk for writing or catching up on email. The third bedroom has a queen bed. Each bedroom has a dresser. The hallway bathroom has a tub for bath time and the master bathroom has a stand-up shower. All three bedrooms had new carpet installed summer 2017.

The house is equipped with everything families traveling with children might need, including: a pack-n-play, a highchair, a mounted baby gate at the top of the stairs, kid-friendly tableware and cutlery and kids’ books and toys. The kitchen has a Cuisinart mini chopper for making baby food.

Have an afternoon glass of chardonnay or famous Oregon pinot noir in the private, shaded back yard, or fire up the charcoal grill in the summertime.

There is so much to do in the neighborhood, but from this home you also have the entire city at your fingertips. Catch the Max (light rail) train in Kenton and ride it Downtown, to the Rose Quarter, to the Zoo, to the airport or many other spots around the city. Several bus lines also pick up close to the house, taking you to nearby trendy areas like the Alberta Arts District and Mississippi Avenue. With the house’s proximity to great services and convenient transit it would be so easy to stay at this home car-free.

For those visiting with a car, the home has easy access to highways and downtown Portland is a quick 10-minute drive. The home is just an 8-minute drive to the University of Portland, Adidas’ U.S. headquarters and Portland’s Expo Center. The Portland Zoo is a 13-minute drive, as is the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. It’s a 10-minute drive to the trendy Pearl District and the famous Powell’s City of Books. Portland has easy access to some spectacular natural beauty. From the house it’s a 15-minute drive to Forest Park (one of the country’s largest urban forest reserves), a 50-minute drive to Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, a 45-minute drive to wine country and a beautiful 1 hour 40 minute drive to the Oregon Coast.

The house has WiFi Internet access, cable television and easy parking for one car in the driveway. The house also has air conditioning. Washer/dryer conveniently located in upstairs laundry room.

We are a family of four who live in Portland and work in Portland and Los Angeles. We love traveling as much as we can, especially in the Western U.S. and Europe. We were inspired to start sharing our home through VRBO after staying in some wonderful VRBO properties. Why Annie chose Portland

We attended the University of Portland and loved the livability and family-friendliness of North Portland. We fell in love with this house and with Kenton because of its huge park and its happening business district. We love that this house is walking distance to an awesome park, great restaurants, a seasonal farmer's market and a hip grocery store. We also love that Kenton has a Max stop, so you can quickly zip downtown for fun outings. This house has all the creature comforts, including a king-sized bed, totally modern kitchen, comfortable AC for Portland's warm summer days and a cozy gas fireplace for those rainy days.

Just what we needed

This house worked well for us. The neighborhood was delightful with the park close by and shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We had a problem getting on wi-fi and Ian responded quickly and got the problem corrected. The house was comfortable and well supplied. Thank you to Annie & Ian.

Disappointed in Quality of Facility

Outside of home was not kept up. Cob webs all over porch. Patio and porch not clean. There were full trash bags left on side of home. The trash can for yard cllippings was left out all week making it difficult to park. Poor wifi service. Generally the inside of home was clean. It needs a child proof gate at the bottom of the stairs also. However, Garage and storage was cluttered. We just didn't feel comfortable in the home and would not recommend it.

Sequels are never as good

This is the second time we've stayed here in just as many years.

This year the cleaning fee went up ALOT (year before it was expensive but a good bit less). The owner (who is very nice) said it was because they had to get someone in there that understood nightly rentals. I suppose that's fine but they need to find someone who knows how to clean first. The place was pretty dirty. Lots of dirt and junk under the sofa (which was new and comfy), some tags and wrappers on the floor. Also, there are quite a few stains in the bedroom carpets.

There are ant bait traps everywhere. The year before there were some small ants which wasn't a big deal, things happen but after a year I would have figured they would have had the ant situation under control.

In one of the rooms, it smelled of cat(s) and there was a cat box under one of the sinks which somewhat explains the smell.

That being said, it is a pretty decent place in a cool neighborhood and the owner is great but it needs some work in the cleanliness department, especially at the price that is charged for cleaning.

I visit the house on a regular basis and have not witnessed the issues you described, and I apologize that the house was not up to standards for your stay.

Comfy and great location!

So close to Kenton Park and fabulous restaurants such as Swift & Union! This home was so comfortable... the family room has a comfy couch and chair I claimed often to sip my Portland Ristretto Roasters coffee! Fantastic kitchen-fully loaded and tons of towels, linens and home in stellar condition! Annie was a dream to communicate with. This home is close to a large Fred Meyer store for groceries, wine, housewares, and more and not too far to the airport! A quick hop on the highway a few exits took us across the river to all downtown and the gorgeous Rose and Japanese Gardens. Our family enjoyed the space, sleeping arrangements, and all the bathrooms! Thank you for our great Portland week in your awesome home! The artwork of Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock -the destination of our son's wedding that week throughout the house made us feel especially at home!
