Why Karen Harris chose Hiawassee
This property, The Honey Lodge, is in a cozy setting among trees and the mountains. A private setting. Two steps to the porch and living area with the master on the main with a beautiful view of the mountains of Brasstown Bald. Only one mile off main hwy 76 and one mile to the middle of Hiawassee. Ingles Grocery is very nice with a Starbucks inside. Very peaceful and you can hear the stream after a rain.
What makes this Cabin unique
This true log home is only one mile off the main road, hwy 76 in Hiawassee Georgia. The home is secluded and has many hardwood trees around the home with plenty of parking. What is unique about this home is it has a beautiful view of the North Ga. mountains which is the national forest so no other homes are seen on the view along with a Lake Chatuge view. Very close to shopping and dinning, about 2 miles. This is a great home to get away and relax with nature. Now with a new whirlpool hot tub and hammock.

Amazing views, and nice cabin. Spent hours soaking in the scenery.
We had a great time. The cabin was cozy. The view from the deck was amazing. We enjoyed the hot tub and the peace and quiet. We definitely would come back!!!
Nice Get Away
Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful cabin, scenic views and a hot tub on the porch.
Comfortable Cabin, Great Location
We spent 5 nights at Honey Lodge. The booking process went smoothly. Karen was quick to respond and answered all of our questions. She provided detailed instructions regarding check in/check out and all other policies regarding the property.
The cabin was overall clean, well furnished, and had all of the necessities (dishes, pots, kitchen gadgets, etc.). We only utilized the upstairs area, but the master bed was very comfortable. We had one small issue with the water heater (water was lukewarm). I let Karen know via text and she responded appropriately, offering to send a maintenance person that day with plans to replace the whole unit once we departed.
There is a fire pit, grill (charcoal), hot tub and hammock -- all you need to relax and unwind! The hot tub is located under a canvas type awning - so if it's raining hard, you will get rained on! It was not a deterrent for us, but might be for some. View from the deck/kitchen area is spectacular.
The cabin is located at the end of the road so it feels like you are all alone - very quiet and peaceful. Other reviews have indicated the road was difficult to navigate (steep) but we had no issues in a standard sized car and the driveway is no different from general driving you'd expect in the mountains. It is also paved the entire way.
You will need to take your trash to the transfer station a few miles down the road when you leave. Although it is inexpensive (I believe we paid $1 for 1 bag of trash) and Karen provides specific instructions/details about the process, it was somewhat inconvenient. And for the $1 it costs, I wonder if this could be absorbed into the price to rent the cabin or with cleaning fee.
They also ask that you wash the towels you've used during your stay. Again, not a huge deal but when I pay a cleaning fee I would expect that to be included.
I would not consider these to be deal breakers, but things others may want to be aware of.
Overall, renting this cabin was a positive experience. Responsive owners, beautiful spot in the mountains, and reasonably priced.
2nd time a Charm, cannot wait for our NEXT!
This was our second time at Honey Lodge and it WILL NOT be our last!!! My wife and I did not do any sight seeing this trip other than from the deck and hot tub. This is the most relaxing and enjoyable of all our trips we take and we are beginning to plan our third stay. The facility is so comfortable and convenient and is just we would do it if it was ours. Karen is a perfect hostess and always responds to every concern in a quick time. I only wish I owned the place!!!!
View was gorgeous! Convenient location. Very clean!
Hiawassee is a beautiful, peaceful town, so you can 'get away' from the city. This home now has a hot tub with a view of the North Georgia Mountains. The Georgia Mountain fair goes on twice a year in Hiawassee, along with several other activities at the fairground and concert of famous singers. There is a mountain beach and playground for kids and teens. The German Alpine village, Helen Georgia is only 25 mins away and Gatlinburg Tenn. is a beautiful 2 hour drive. Lake Chatuge is in town and is one of the most beautiful lakes in Georgia with fishing, boating and swimming.
