Truly a lovely, lovely spot!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for a weekend family getaway. The place was spotless and welcoming. The set up is perfect for a large group. We had three adult couples and four young children. Everyone had their own space and the large open concept kitchen/living area provided ample space for all of us to gather and for the kids to play. Will absolutely come back again. Diane was always pleasant and available to answer any questions.

Great river!

  • 5 of 5

My father and I went last year at the end of atv season. The river behind the house was incredible. Defiantly wasn’t no brook. It had category 5 rapids . Extremely loud. We loved it. Place was clean. Defiantly would recommend it for someone else. Loved that the lot on the other side of the river is for us to park. It was very convenient. Only complaint was it smelled a little like cigarettes in the house. Will go back.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay. . .I ask that people smoke outside, but not everyone is compliant. I've since thoroughly cleaned the window treatments and area rugs to eliminate the smell. Also, a nice feature, is the sofa cushion covers are removable, so I launder those often too. Thank you so much for your review, they are very helpful Diane

Spectacular Falls

  • 5 of 5

The falls are amazing. We were there in the end of January and the falls were all ice and beautiful. We are going to go back in the summer and explore the falls more.

The house is immaculate inside, all we had to bring is ourselves and our amenities and the owner made it extremely comfortable knowing that we could contact her any time, with the crazy schedule that we had because of our parties varying schedule of their own, she made our stay seemless.Everyone said that they would come back and it is going to be one of our goto retreats. The neighbors across the street were very helpful in getting us to places we wanted to see and we also met other people in the area that were very nice and helpful, something we haven't encountered in other places. We expect to come to Crystal Falls Retreat at least two times a year.

Nice Clean House

  • 5 of 5

The home owner was very helpful with winter directions to the house and all your needs.

We stayed there to snowmobile, there is plenty of parking for trailers. The trail is right up the road. The house was clean and comfortable.

Too much cold & not enough cozy

  • 2 of 5

I had daydreams of staying in a cozy cabin in the White Mountains with my husband & kids to close out 2017. Visions of hot cocoa by the fire (no fireplace) after snowy walks around the woods (it was -20F) and playing board games at night (we did do this, but house did not get warmer than 63F for us) followed by being serenaded by rushing river (it was frozen) just never came together. I’m sure this place is much better in warm weather. We left early because it was no fun to freeze in a not really charming house. I do not recommend for families with kids, but I will say the house was clean and the owners friendly & responsive.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry you arrived during NH' s coldest temperatures in decades. Warmer weather would have surely made your stay more "cozy". Families with children love this location for their entertainment. Local summer swimming, hiking and ATV trails, and winter trails also.
