Lundy House Hide Away

  • 5 of 5

For the perfect get away. Tucked away from tourist traffic. The Eastern Sierras all to yourself, complete with the sound of a rushing stream in the back yard. Close to the Yosemite Tioga Pass surrounded by god's country. The scenery is breath taking and there were numorous lakes that rent boats for great sports fishing. Also many hiking trails some which lead to hidden waterfalls. Couldn't have asked for a more ideal retreat! Martin was quick to respond to any questions and kept the place immaculate. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing home with us!

Sleep Next to a Creek

  • 5 of 5

What a terrific place to relax! The house is truly next to a creek, shaded by trees. It has more windows than walls and is spacious enough for everyone to find a private nook, yet cozy enough to bring everyone together. It's clean but feels lived-in so I wasn't afraid to eat crackers on the couch. There were no mosquitoes or annoying bugs so we could sit out on the deck overlooking the creek and snooze or read or talk. It's only a couple of miles from Lundy Lake where there is a great 2.5 mile trail up to an abandoned mine. The elevation change to the mine is about 2000 feet so the hike is challenging enough to feel justified in eating another slice of pie but not so difficult that it's all I could do in a day. I hiked it before (a late) breakfast. There is a surprising amount of mining equipment left up there.

Mono Lake still fascinates no matter how many times I visit. This is a great place for a small family reunion or vacation. Plenty of parking. No neighbors I could see except one cabin quite a distance away. Sleeping with the sound of a creek is the best sleep possible. I will certainly be returning. Even my 90 year old mother who doesn't want to travel at all anymore is eager to come back.

Thank you to the owners who are immediately responsive to any email sent. Our stay was exceptionally pleasant.

Our family loved staying at Lundy House

  • 5 of 5

Our family , my wife & I, and three adult children met at Lundy House for some family time and hiking in Yosemite NP. We're from both coasts and this seemed like the perfect spot, and it was. Great house, very comfortable three bedrooms. Our 6'2" son slept on the porch couch and was very comfortable also. This house is a mile or so up the canyon road and is very quite, dark and peaceful. Great night sky. The stream running right outside is great to listen and sleep to. If your looking to get away from it all, see the eastern side of Yosemite this is the place for you. We all would go back in a heartbeat.

And don't forget to hike Lundy canyon, short drive and very scenic.

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5

A great place to relax. Very quiet, no traffic noise. You can sit on the sun porch and watch the the Blue Jays and Woodpeckers or the squirrels in the trees above the stream that runs through the property. A couple of miles back in the canyon is Lundy Lake with world class trout fishing. A short drive away is the west entrance to Yosemite National Park.

The lovely tri-level home is well maintained with all the amenities you need for a great vacation. The property owners were very accommodating. I would highly recommend this home to those looking for a quiet getaway.
