Great location to explore the east side of Yosemite.

  • 4 of 5

This is a great location if you are looking to hike the High Sierras on the east side of Yosemite National Park. This location provides an easy drive on Tioga Pass Road to the Toulomne Meadows area of the park. A stream just below the master bedroom windows provides a relaxing sound to complement the amazing views.

Lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Our multi-generation family of 7 had plenty of room and the window views were picturesque. The children were impresses by all the stars in the night sky. The home's location was central to all the sightseeing spots we had planned.

A gem in the eastern Sierras

  • 4 of 5

A very comfortable house in an incredible setting. Perched above a small stream the house gives a sense of privacy as the view out the back is nothing but woods and the sound of running water. A large deck off the main living area is a great place for happy hour. However, during our stay anyway, there was no deck furniture to gather on. The other gross omission on the deck was a BBQ. Owner Marty gave nearby close calls with wildfire the reason. But those two little inconveniences did little to detract from the overall enjoyment of the house. Centrally located to many of the "must sees" the area has to offer.....Lundy Lake 3 mins, Mono Lake 3 mins, the ghost town of Bodie 25mins, Tioga pass/Yosemite park, 60mins, Mammoth Lakes ski area, 45mins, and countless other lesser known but equally awe inspiring vistas. Marty is a delight to deal with, and not one off my e-mails went unanswered for more than an hour. The house was clean and equipped well enough to make for easy meal prep, and overall comfort. The master suite is incredible! We're already planning our return to the eastern sierras, and will again make Marty's Lundy Canyon house our base of operation.

The owners need to pay more attention to the cleanliness of the residence.

  • 3 of 5

Lovely location, poorly designed house, with 15 stairs going down to the kitchen from the entry. The owners need to pay more attention to cleanliness. This last time I visited, there was human waste on the toilet. The garbage cans has not been emptied, and do utensils were not clean. I have stated this location before. Last time we counted 350 dead flies covering all the floors. Aside from from their lack of attention to detail, the sunroom is a highlight. Oddly, the sunroom is the least glamorous room in the house. The sunroom is adjacent to Mill creek, and is a lovely place to have morning coffee. As a professional of the architectural community, I do find it odd that you can sit in the living room and look directly at the toilet in the master bedroom. The main highlight of the houses that the location is fantastic, and close by Lee Vining and Bridgeport, and surrounding lakes, high desert, and Yosemite. I will go back there and give the owners a third chance just because of the location. For the record, I've videoed and took pictures of the flies, and the human waste if you're interested.

Owner's Response: Trash cans were all emptied, there was no "human waste" on any toilets, all dishes were washed and you can't see the master bath from the living room! Not responsible for flies that may arrive during your stay, and I think it's rather telling that you managed to count them all! "Poorly designed" is in the eye of the beholder. This house is spectacular, custom built and tucked into it's special spot along Mill Creek, down, out of the wind.
