A wonderful upcountry discovery

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful cottage ! We arrived very late at night ---- Siobhan gave us some great driving directions and had very kindly left all the lights on for us , and so arrival was quick and easy .

The stars at night in this location were amazing . We ate s'mores in the hot tub and had a glass of wine under the full moon . Listening to the deer calling in the forest next to us was something we'll never forget . We will return again and again . Mahalo Siobhan and Geoff !

charming cottage in upcountry Makawao

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this charming cottage. It was a great base to explore most of the island. It was furnished beautifully with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the large washer and dryer, the fire pit, and the hot tub. It was very quiet and very clean. The road is a little bit of an adventure coming in, but the cottage is well worth it. It is cooler than the coast, so bring a jacket. Makawao is a wonderful place to base all of your exploring. We had a great stay here.

Beautiful isolated location with all the luxuries we would want

  • 5 of 5

We had a very comfortable and pleasurable stay at this beautiful home. When we first arrived, we were allowed to check in early so that we could make it up the mountain for the sunset after dropping off our luggage and we were greeted by chocolate macadamia nuts and coffee among other nice touches we didn’t expect. The quiet country setting was a stark contrast to our previous stay along the coast in Kihei and for us it was a far superior experience overall. If we ever make it back to Maui we will try to return here.

A wonderful super-private home away from the crowds

  • 5 of 5

If you like privacy and quiet, this is certainly a place to look at. The house is a long way back from the road with no visible neighbors. We found the house clean and functional and with all the amenities we wanted. We especially made good use of the large outdoor spa! The property is at a fairly high elevation and so was cooler than places along the shore. That made the nights wonderfully cool. We did make use of the room heaters a couple of the evenings...we were there in December. Makawao Town is a delightful place with an excellent bakery and numerous small shops. There is abundant excellent hiking nearby as well. The only problem we had was with a circuit breaker that tripped a couple of times. It wasn't a problem to re-set it and the owners said they would look into it. We would definitely stay here again on another visit.

Beautiful ... but Be Careful

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was beautiful, nestled in a beautifully secluded area. It had the necessities we needed to enjoy our with condiments, wash & dryer, toiletries and of course a hot tub that we enjoyed. Definitely a place we'd like to stay again, Siobhan was so gracious to accommodate us!

Be Careful...Do Not Drive to this cottage at night!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review Signe. As previous guests have mentioned, we are located several minutes from the main road down a long private driveway which gives our property its unique privacy and security. The majority of our guests arrive at night, as they are arriving on night time flights from the mainland. We provide detailed driving directions to the cottage and having hosted over 1200 guests over the years we have not had any problems whatsoever as long as guests have followed the directions given. Thank you again.
