We lived in the heat of Kihei for many, many years and while access to the beautiful beaches was a plus, the traffic, the nearby neighbors, the noise of residential communities, was not what either of us was hoping for in a move to Hawaii. We wanted to experience the country, the lush tropical beauty, to grow our own food, to wake up grateful every single day. When we were blessed to purchase the property next door to the Sacred Garden Retreat, we were ecstatic. When the adjacent property came up....sooooo adorable, with the charming log house and the adorable 1930's Gingerbread House studio cottage that Jimi Hendrix stayed in in 1970 when he was on Maui filming "Rainbow Bridge"....we couldn't resist. This expanded our capacity to farm, to educate and to share this beautiful property with others.
A genuine log house is a rare find on Maui and offers such a unique and cozy "cabin feel" while at the same time spaciousness, that allows the whole family to get away together, or friends celebrating a birthday....or a couple on honeymoon to enjoy. The balcony, or Lanai as we say in Hawaii, is a little piece of heaven, the firepit is a favorite of many....Lush. Peaceful. Beautiful. Relaxing. REAL Maui.
