4. Pet Policy 🐾 Pets are welcome, with a maximum of 2 pets per stay and an additional fee. Notify us in advance.
5. Quiet Hours 🤫 Keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Let’s respect our neighbors.
6. No Parties or Events 🎉❌ Parties, large gatherings, and events are not allowed. Penalty: $1,000, plus immediate termination of your stay without a refund.
7. Security & Valuables 🔒 Secure all windows and doors when leaving. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
8. Use of Appliances & Amenities ⚙️ Use all appliances responsibly. Report any issues, and we’ll take care of them!
9. Climate Control 🌡️ Use heating and air conditioning responsibly to avoid excessive energy use.
10. Cleanliness 🧹 Keep the property tidy. Excessive messes may incur extra cleaning fees.

14. Smoke Alarms & Fire Safety 🚨 Smoke alarms are essential safety devices and must not be disabled, covered, removed, or tampered with for any reason. This includes removing batteries, covering alarms to prevent activation, or interfering with them in any way.
Any tampering, misuse causing a false alarm, or intentional disabling of a smoke alarm will result in a $500 penalty, plus any additional costs incurred (including building fines, fire department charges, or maintenance repairs). Continued violations may lead to immediate termination of the stay without refund, in line with house rules and platform policies.

Sam was a great host, very responsive, and allowed me to drop my bags off before actually checking in. I did not end up needing to do that, but the option was there. The location can’t be beat. The street the property is on is quiet itself but steps away from all the action of the surrounding Plateau neighborhood and a reasonable walk away from other popular spots like Mile End. One thing to note, and it’s not a big deal at all, but a couple of the electric outlets would not work. I do recommend staying at Sam’s listing if you are in Montreal.

Inaccurate and unsafe
We chose this property because of the advertised air conditioning and having a balcony so we could enjoy time on our trip while our 1 year old was sleeping. There was no air conditioning upon arriving, just two uninstalled units that were not working. The host got maintenance to add AC to the living room the next afternoon but the bedrooms were never fixed and I didn't want to spend time dealing with maintenance on our trip. We essentially only were able to use one bedroom trying to get the AC from the living room and it still never got cool. Some nights my baby monitor captured 81 degrees even with the AC in living room running. The "balcony" was a dilapidated fire escape so rotted that there were holes in the floor and a broken table. The entryway metal railing was corroded and missing the stabilizing rail piece-- extremely unsafe. In the end we tried to stick it out but we ended up leaving a day early because it was unbearably hot. Also no dishwasher as advertised. VRBO customer service was extremely unhelpful and it was very disappointing overall.
