Generous interiors, spacious bedrooms and inviting communal areas give up to 14 guests plenty of room to gather — and just as importantly, plenty of space to retreat when they want a little peace and quiet.

Large windows bring the surrounding countryside indoors, framing views of the orchard, meadows and forest throughout the day.

And in the morning, there are few better places to enjoy your first coffee than the upper terrace, watching the countryside slowly wake while the swimming pool glistens below.

A little farther away, unforgettable day trips await: the extraordinary Škocjan Caves, dramatic Predjama Castle, and the cafés, architecture and Italian atmosphere of Trieste.

And some days, there is no reason to drive anywhere.
