About Marie Dingfelder

We are Alan and Marie Dingfelder. We have been married for 51 years and have 2 grown children and 1 grandson. We both grew up in Corry, PA and moved to North East 40 years ago. We live next door to the property. We are calling our vacation rental a guest house because that's just what it is. We have a pretty small house and when we have company from out of town, it is hard to know where to put them. When we renovated the property, we decided it would be a good idea to no longer rent it full time but to use it for our visiting family and guests. We like the results so much that we may at some point decide to move in there ourselves. We have settled on A & M Guest House for the name of the property. We would be happy to have you as our guests.

Why Marie Dingfelder chose North East

There are some beautiful properties here in North East. Although our guest house is not on the beach, we think it is in a great location. We are about 3 miles out of North East and only 15 or 20 minutes from Erie. The town of North East has a lot to offer in quaint shops and popular yearly events like the North East Cherry Festival in July, the Wine Fest, Rib Fest, and others. The property is private with off road parking. The drawback is we are located near a railroad crossing. People either love or hate the trains. If you hate them and the noise from them, you may want to avoid our place.

What makes this mobile home unique

Centrally located between North East and Erie, PA. Keep in mind North East is the name of the town, not the location. We are located in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania. This property is completely remodeled inside and out. There is always lots going on in this part of the country. Every season offers something new - summer and winter sports, entertainment, shopping, located in grape country. The property is on a large lot with lots of off road parking. You can be comfortable and assured of your privacy. Kind of like a little 'home away from home'.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Marie & Alan,

Thank you for everything as always. Can't believe it's been 4 years since we started coming up here and I enjoy myself more each year! It truly feels like a home away from home for us! I hope the coming year brings yinz good health and look so forward to seeing yinz again next October.

We tried a new place in town called Valone's Brooklyn Grocery. We had the ox roast sandwich. It was amazing and their pizza was too. I left a menu on the hutch in case any future guest would like to try it! We also tried a place in Erie called the Pittsburgh Inn. Being from Pittsburgh, we had to try it. Friday is Prime Rib night and it didn't disappoint. As usual Noble Winery is still my favorite winery. I hope this may help future guests. We love to try new places.

Thank you again for welcoming our fur babies also. it wouldn't feel like home without them! Take care and see you on Facebook and next year. Love.

Clean well stock rental. We felt like we were at home

  • 5 of 5

It's was perfect. Plenty of room for 5 adults and the dog. The scenery surrounding the property was beautiful, especially with the light snow we had all weekend. We were given our privacy as well. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Owner's Response: Thank you Kayce, for the nice review. We certainly enjoyed having you next door. For 5 adults and a dog, you were certainly quiet. We always like to give our guests privacy - just the way we like it when we go on vacation. Please consider staying with us any time you come this way. Thank you for your kind words and for taking such good care of the place, and thank you for doing laundry. It surely helped me get ready for the next guests. It was much appreciated. Hope to see you again some day. P.S. we will be keeping our eyes open for your key and mail it back to you if we should find it.

Great place, fantastic owners

  • 5 of 5

Rented this place with a couch me friends for steelhead fishing. Marie, the owner was providing me with weather updates due to the potential bad weather. The place was clean and roomy. It was well equipped with everything needed for a few days. Will definitely be renting this place again. One of our party left some shoes behind and Marie was kind enough to send them to me. Definitely recommend

The house was clean and comfy with everything we needed and more.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two nights right before Christmas because we wanted to snow board at Peak-n-Peak. Marie was very nice and allowed our dog Lucky to stay with us. She stopped by initially to meet us and the dog, but didn’t bother us for the remainder of our stay. There were plenty of dishes, clean linens, and even some condiments available for us to use. We brought food to cook, and had plenty of kitchenware to do so. The property was spacious and quiet aside from the train, but that didn’t bother us at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in the future.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice and close to our family in Erie. The trains came frequently but we got used to them quickly and didn’t really notice them by the second day. Marie was very accommodating and allowed us to bring our old dogs so they wouldn’t have to be kenneled. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We are planning on coming back for our next trip up to Erie.

Great property and great owners!

This was a great property hat was well kept and had everything you needed, including coffee! :). The train tracks were busy but didn’t bother me too much, but I am a deep sleeper. This was an awesome location for fishing the streams on the west side of Erie.

Owner's Response: Thank you Rocky, for the nice review. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you guys while you were here but hope to meet you in the future when you come back to fish. I'm glad you had a good fishing experience. The trains can be bothersome at times and then other times, they hardly run at all. It's the one thing we can't control. We try to make everything else a pleasant experience. You boys left the place in good shape. I've never felt the need to require a security deposit and so far, I have not had any reason to wish I had. Please remember us whenever you come back to this area. We'd love to have you back!
