About Scott Harbinson 410.530-6925

We built this home for our children. We wanted to create the sort of childhood memories that would last a lifetime and would be passed down to future generations. We chose Chincoteague because we view it as 'Mayberry By-The-Sea'. Chincoteague is a family resort. There are no bars, tattoo parlors and serious crime is almost unheard of. It is the sort of place where we feel perfectly comfortable letting our teenaged children explore on their own. They ride bikes to the beach, to get ice cream, take the kayak out, go crabbing and play basketball and tennis down the street at Memorial Park. They have an autonomy and freedom here that has given them greater confidence and has provided an opportunity to make decisions in a safe environment.

Why Scott Harbinson 410.530-6925 chose Chincoteague Island

We designed this home with families in mind. The second floor queen BR is for adults affording a panoramic view through a 12 foot wide slider. It has a shared full bath. The second floor has a 'bunk room' for the kids with two singles down and another single up in a loft accessed by a ship's ladder. This bedroom also has direct, separate access to the bathroom. Adjacent is the theater room with four movie theater seats and a 40' flat screen TV. This allows 'early risers' to be autonomous and give Mom and Dad the opportunity to sleep in. The third floor is entirely dedicated to the master suite. Queen memory foam bed, sitting room with TV and DVD player; and travertine luxury bath including soaking tub. Of course, stupendous views of the Channel and lighthouse out to the Atlantic through a huge 8 x 12 slider. There's also a balcony for morning coffee, afternoon sun or enjoying a quiet evening drink.

What makes this townhome unique

This house was built featuring some innovative green technology. It's walls and roof are made of structural insulated panels, not 2x4's and plywood. It is tight as a vault, incredibly well insulated and quiet as can be.

Since construction, this house has stood against Hurricane Irene and Super Storm Sandy without sustaining so much as a scratch.

When you compare our house to others on the island, you will see that it is not only among the most family friendly; but also among the best values. Part of being 'family-friendly' is to make sure that our rental is fairly priced. This is our first time renting and we want to assure that families can afford to access our property and create some memories for their own children.

Scott and Beth were great!! My wife and I had a great stay in Chincoteague and the house location was perfect. We had one issue and Scott got back right away. The views we had from the home were great. The kayak was great. If you have not been to the island and looking for a great get a way this is the place. If you are looking for clubs and nightlife go some place else. People were nice. Weather was great. What else is there to say. Great beach destination.

Thank you Scott and Beth

Owner's Response: So happy the weather cooperated and you had an enjoyable time. Autumn is our favorite time at the beach. Warm water, mild days and cool nights all make for a great beach experience. Beth and Scott

Great Location and Great Views

  • 4 of 5

There was plenty of space and mostly everything that you need is available to you. The house is situated in a nice location on the island with beautiful views of the lighthouse, using the kayak for a day was a wonderful bonus to this rental. We loved catching blue crab off the private dock and eating them for dinner! It doesn't get any fresher than that!

The home is need of some general repairs throughout from wear and tear of being a heavily used rental property, however, it is still nice and meet our families needs. Some suggestions would be for the home to have a TV on the main living level with possibly better seating and WiFi would be a valuable asset. We had a wonderful time on the island and enjoyed everyday from sunrise to sunset!

Owner's Response: Sorry a couple of small items needed attention- it's very hard to get things done during the summer within the 5 hour window on changeover days. The house now has wifi service.

Incredible Stay!

  • 5 of 5

I spent a week here at Pony Penning week and had an amazing time. The house was large and clean with plenty of storage space. The location was perfect, right across from the water and just a few minutes from town. We crabbed on the dock and took the kayak out to see the ponies. We could not have asked for a better place to stay.

Amazing Views

  • 5 of 5

The views from this home are some of the best on the island. We took full advantage of the dock and kayak (check the tide charts, getting in/out of the kayak at low tide is a challenge) and the kids had a lot of fun catching crabs. The home had plenty of space for our family of 5 and is located in a quiet neighborhood. We honestly wouldn't have wanted to have stayed anywhere else.

We had such a wonderful time exploring the island! The house was perfect - we watched the ponies across the channel every morning from the third floor balcony. We really enjoyed the little 'theater room' as well as the movie nook in the top floor bedroom. We took full advantage of crab pot. Everything you need to steam up those beauties are in the house. The kayak was awesome to have! My only suggestion would be to have some sort of 'house book' that would let you know the best places to launch (the dock was really difficult to launch from!), maybe spotlight some of the cool area attractions (Picos has the best tacos!).

We had a wonderful time in the perfect location! The perfect way to spend a birthday!

Thank you!
