Second Year in a Row
For the second year in a row, we have enjoyed this Lodge. It's so spacious and warm. We lucked out this year (2017) and got at least 11" of snow. I guess you have to be careful what you wish for.
Thanks again for sharing your lodge.
Family Reunion in Blue Ridge
If you want to wake up each day feeling like you are in a painting this is the place for you. The house is magnificent, and the owner is accommodating and very responsive. We had a Thanksgiving family reunion with 17 adults and 7 children, there was plenty of room (we did bring air mattresses just in case you should bring a pad for pull outs but you already know that right) They really thought of everything in terms of at the house activities -table pool, ping pong, board games, poker table, fire pit, air hockey, foos ball, ect...understanding since you are literally at the top of the mountain the drive requires you to have a car and nerves that are up for the task. Worth It!! If there is any downside it would be the cleaning not really up to par with a house rental, it was disappointing on many levels, so the owner might want to look for a different crew. The thing I personally am always concerned with is HOT WATER - No worries! The men in the group were concerned with the WIFI and TV situation ( Big Football weekend) but seriously don't go to the mountains of Blue Ridge to watch TV the surrounding area is much more entertaining. We had an awesome time at this house and sat around fantasizing about owning one just like it someday, but the location does lend itself to a group who is not looking to leave often (not that you will need to). The town is worth the venture out, but plan accordingly :) Highly recommend booking this home! The 4 stars just reflects cleaning otherwise 5 all the way.
This was a great place to stay, with great friends and great fun! Spectacular views from the top porch! So much room in the house, with lots of things to do in the game room. Would not change anything, but would be nice to have more TV's, especially in the great room, as there was limited space for all of us to watch the football games downstairs. Also, couldn't find a hair dryer nor iron/ironing board - would be great to have at least one. Thank you!
Gina - i appreciate your feedback. we now moved TV from the downstairs to the Great Room and providing an ironing board with iron.
If you are looking for a cabin secluded in the mountains look no further. This cabin is awesome for a large family. Everyone in our group absolutely loved it. There is something to do for all age groups and it was very clean and well kept. We cant wait to go back again next year. The owner is very responsive as well.
Amazing House for large families & groups
We were lucky to find this place. The house and the settings are spectacular. Lots of space for kids to play, the lodge has everything you can possible need to spend a great week. All in good quality and great look, with great attention to details. For such a large capacity, wi-fi connectivity was not enough but I consider that a minor issue once you have decided to get away from the city!
It takes a while to get to the property through the non-paved access road, but it is clearly worth it! Excellent for large groups getaways and nature lovers! Great house indications from the owner!
