About Chuck Medrano

I purchased this townhouse after traveling down to the Kanab area for a few years. I live in Northern Utah, where the winters are long and cold. I always look forward to traveling down to the clean air, warm weather, bright sun, and gorgeous scenery that make the Kanab area and Southern Utah so unique.

Chuck Medrano purchased this townhome in 2010

Why Chuck Medrano chose Kanab

Kanab is the Heart of the Parks. We love the scenery, and the climate. The humidity is very low. They say the sun shines 320 days per year. I love the red rocks, and the blue sky. We first started traveling down to Kanab when my brother owned a home there. We fell in love with the area from the first trip, and have returned three or four times a year to our little oasis away from the cold northern Utah winters, and to enjoy the scenery, adventures, and relaxation we always find here. Besides Zion National Park, and Bryce National Park, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, There are so many places to explore, and so many amazing places to see, you won't have enough time to explore them all. This townhouse lets us enjoy a place to feel like we are home, away from home. Bedrooms to rest in instead of a small hotel room, a family area to relax in, a kitchen to cook meals together, and eat together, and a washer and dryer right in the townhouse means that we can really have all the luxuries of being home, with all the benefits of being on vacation. One of the things we love about Kanab is the small town atmosphere. The people are friendly, and there is no hustle and bustle. We can still go to Page, AZ, and St. George, UT, if we are in need of anything. They are both only a little over an hour away from Kanab. Snow Canyon, near St. George, is a beautiful canyon. You can then return to the quiet and peacefulness of the townhouse, where the air is clean and the scenery is perfect, and relax.

What makes this townhome unique

This townhouse is quiet and like new. There is fiber optic, 1gig speed, unlimited, wireless internet. I love the fact that it faces south, and it is located in the center of the complex, the back door leads right to the rear entrance of the pool and hot tub. It has one covered parking space, and there are several other non-designated parking places available, for additional vehicles, or boats or trailers. It is fully furnished with 3 queen sized beds, Two reclining couches, furniture, dishes, pots and pans, and a BBQ grill, flatscreen tv (Netflix and local channels only, no satellite) and dvd player, and it is just steps away from a relaxing hot tub and large pool (pool or hot tub may be closed during the winter, but the hot tub is usually open even during the winter). There is a picnic area right off the back patio, amazing views from the private balcony off the master bedroom, and close proximity to restaurants, grocery stores, and convenience stores means you can choose to eat in or dine out or eat on the run to your next adventure outdoors. You will look forward to returning to the comfort of the townhouse after a long day of hiking, boating, four wheeling, sightseeing, golfing, or whatever activity you choose.

Great location! Perfect space for our family of 6. Host very responsive and accommodating!

  • 5 of 5

Kanab is a great place to base out of for visits to Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon North Rim. The accomdations were perfect for our family of six. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Town house was very clean and had everything we needed. Host was very responsive and communicated well to ensure we had everything we needed for our trip.

If we are ever back in southern Utah we would gladly stay here again!

Thanks for helping us have a wonderful adventure!

Geweldige uitvalsbasis voor prachtige omgeving

  • 5 of 5

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

The owner was very helpful and answered questions quickly. It was a central location to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion Canyon, Sand Dunes State Park, Lake Powell and much more that we didn't make it to. Very clean accommodations in the quaint town of Kanab. Was amazed at the Gorge we drove through on our way from Las Vegas Airport. Would definitely stay here again.

Great property, great location, couldn't have asked for a better home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 6 nights here after spending 2 nights in a tiny house in Sequoia National Park. We spent almost 10 hours in the car to arrive to our "home" for the next 6 days and couldn't have been any happier!! It was just like staying in our own home, there was every sort of amenity imaginable so that we weren't missing out on any of the comforts of home. And, after spending the previous 2 nights in a tiny house, this was like staying in a mansion! LOL Plenty of room for us to spread out and not be on top of each other.

Chuck was very quick to respond when we ran out of propane for the grill - it was replaced by 8:30 the next morning. Also responded quickly when I realized I forgot our daughter's water shoes, with suggestions as to where to go to find replacements.

Of course, the highlight for our daughter was being able to go to the pool after spending the day exploring the different parks. It was so nice that the pool had late hours and was so easy to get to from the back. Also loved that we had assigned, covered parking to help keep the car cool, and we never had to walk too far to get home, even when arriving late at night.

We were able to easily visit Bryce Canyon, Zion, the north rim of the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon without having to be in the car for too long. Unfortunately we didn't win the lottery for The Wave, and had we realized that the walk-in lottery was located so close earlier in the trip, we may have had a chance. (But we think Antelope Canyon was pretty cool as our "consolation prize")

We were so happy with this rental and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the beauty of southern Utah and the surrounding parks.

You were great guests, and I really enjoyed having you stay at the property. I try to have things that I feel you may need in the property. If there is something you feel that should be there, let me know. I could provide it for future guests. Again, Thank You!

Car: recommended

Kanab is tucked away in the center of so many sights to see! You are within 90 minutes of some of the most incredible hikes, scenery, adventures, National Parks, and outdoor activities. Some of our family's favorites have included boating at Lake Powell, all the way to Rainbow Bridge, hiking to The Wave, hiking Buckskin Gulch, Wire Pass, and Peek a Boo Canyon, these are all amazing slot canyons, touring Bryce National Park, Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Paria Canyon, Johnson Canyon, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. A quick Internet search of hiking and activities near Kanab will result in some great tips for sightseeing some of the most impressive landscapes you will ever see! Squaw Canyon will take you up above Kanab, and it starts right by the city pool and park, which are both very nice, and within walking distance of the townhouse. We have also enjoyed four wheeling at Coral Pink Sand Dunes and in Hog Canyon nearby, (you can ride your four wheeler from the townhouse right to the canyon), touring Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, (Angel Canyon is very scenic), traveling to Pipe Springs National Monument, Jacob Lake, and Lee's Ferry. The Glen Canyon Dam area, and tour is impressive. Antelope Canyon on a guided tour in Page, Arizona, golfing at Coral Canyon Golf Course, in St. George, and Sand Hollow Golf Course, in Hurricane, and just enjoying swimming, hot tubbing, and relaxing in the townhouse.
