Communication with host before arrival was great, very quick to respond. Upon arrival the we noticed the neighborhood was very run down, with boarded windows on multiple houses. The inside of the house was fairly clean in appearance, but there were gnats and a mildew smell. After a few hours we knew we could not stay the weekend there, and found another place that day. Reached out to host hoping to work out some kind of refund since I had to get another place, plus after one response they went radio silence.

We’re very surprised by this review. You and your guests stayed in the home overnight and only contacted us days later asking for a refund. When we inspected the home after your departure, it was clean and in proper condition — no issues like mildew or gnats were found. It’s unfortunate to see an inaccurate and misleading review. The neighborhood is quiet, residential, and regularly booked by families and business travelers without any concerns. It seems you changed your plans and are now trying to avoid paying for your stay. That’s not fair. Reviews should reflect honest experiences, not be used to push for refunds after using the property. We always strive to provide quality and transparency — and we expect the same from our guests. Best regards,
