About Ron Bevil
My wife and I both came to Durango area in December, 1999. I grew up and spent most of my life in Chicago, but always had dreams of retiring in Colorado. Katya moved to Durango from Saint Petersburg, Russia. It took us just about 7 years to finally meet, fall in love, and settle in together at this beautiful mountain lake in a little log cabin located next to the rental properties I manage. We love our simple life here on the lake enjoying the serenity of the lake from our deck or a pontoon boat, hiking on a beautiful trail or taking a ride in a tandem kayak. Our favorite place to go for food or drink is Pura Vida Café which is about a half a mile from the cabins.
Ron Bevil purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Ron Bevil chose Bayfield
I decided to manage these cabins because of their unique lakefront location, the amazing craftsmanship found throughout all 3 cabins' interior and exterior features. And I am fortunate to live right next door!

This property is Amazing! Beautiful views, best spot on the lake. My cabin was clean and comfortable. I had a great wood burning stove that keep the place warm and cozy the entire time. Plenty of wood, great grill, comfy beds. I'll definitely be going back!! Thanks Joe!
The good: the location of this cabin is everything!! We loved the view of the lake. Our favorite amenity was the fireplace. The bad: before you make your way to this location make sure you get better instructions on how to find it. Maps will get you in the vicinity of the location, but it is a little hidden. My husband and I spent 45 minutes in the dark trying to find it before we were able to get ahold of the owner for further instructions. I wasn’t a fan that there was not blinds or curtains on all of the windows for privacy. Especially since you have cabins all around you. Cleanliness wise it was decent. The bathtub still had hair in it along with the bathroom sink. And it seemed as though it had not been vacuumed, mopped or dusted. Especially if you look in the cabinets or around the tv center. I personally think it was a little bit of a rip off considering how much you pay for cleaning fees. Other than the cleanliness and the trouble finding the location we really enjoyed our stay here.
This cabin was super hard for us to find. Call ahead whike you have signal and are calm to get help locating it. The. Property owner helped he the absolute best he could over the phone to get me to the cabin (even though I was panicking and probably super annoying) the cabin was absolutely gorgeous and the view was amazing. We walked down some stones and a trail to go sit by the lake. Perfect anniversary get away.
The cabins have such a beautiful view! It is quite and very relaxing!
The owners have gone out of their way to make sure the cabins are nice and cozy. As well, as stocking the kitchens with what you might need, to have enjoyable meals!
We can't wait to go again, as a famly vaca and take the kids !
First, if you think you’re going to have WiFi at this cabin, think again. You could maybe load a webpage but if you wanted to stream a movie it’s impossible. So go into your vacation here with the assumption that it’s an unplugged getaway. The kitchen was very well stocked in terms of utensils and spices. There are a lot of cabins around the area so it was a little hard to find but not bad. If you book this cabin say hello to the mouse in the walls for me!
