Amazing stay at this beautifully decorated, spacious historic home! Location was perfect and communication was quick and friendly. Definitely recommend!
We were in town for my sons wedding and this was the perfect place to stay! Beautiful property, easy access to the venue and all the cute shops in Salado. We also rented a golf cart which was the cherry on top. We will definately return.
We loved our stay at the Tyler Home. The house is beautifully styled and manages to feel both fresh and full of character at the same time. The location made everything easy — shopping and dining were right nearby (we ate at Alexander’s and it was yummmmmy!). It was a wonderful space for our girls’ weekend, full of laughter, late nights, and great memories. Would gladly book again.
The house is lovely, well stocked and spotless. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. Lauren was extremely accommodating with timely communication. We will definitely return.
The Tyler House is a beautifully restored historical home! The owners spared no expense when renovating this gem in the heart of Old Downtown Salado. We were in walking distance of cute shops and restaurants, but the home is so comfortable that we spent most of our time there. Each bedroom has a King size bed and an ensuite bath, which is a rare find! The home also has lovely outdoor areas with plenty of seating. We would DEFINITELY stay at the Tyler House again!
We loved the house ,location was great the house was perfect decorated beautifully , equipped with every thing we needed every bedroom had its own bathroom.Sat out every night in the pavilion with the fire pit on . We didn’t want to leave the house it was so comfortable. Used the front porch a lot Thank you for a memorable vacation. THE SCHWENTEK FAMILY
This historic home has been freshly renovated. The attention to detail is next level - VERY well executed. Everything is brand new. The furnishings feel like a high end boutique. The exterior of the property has several sitting areas that you can enjoy. At night, the landscape lights allow for a wonderful ambience. The best part of the home is the kitchen / keeping area. What a special place for visiting and having cocktails. My family was in town for college graduation- a party of 6 stayed very comfortably for 3 nights. The house is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. There is easy access to HWY 35 for travel. After 4 years of searching for the perfect property - we finally found it on our last trip to the area for college. We’ve already discussed staying again in the fall!! I feel like I need to say Thank You for this renovation / VRBO.
The perfect location and home to spend time in Salado! Everything was wonderful. The kitchen and living areas are gorgeous, and the bedrooms are beyond comfortable. We will be back!
The Tyler House is a beautiful paradise to have a getaway gathering with friends or family. Excellently decorated, spacious rooms for conversations, a large dining area, and a kitchen with everything one needs. There are multiple rooms for catching up with friends and family. Three beautiful bedrooms each with its own bathroom for privacy. Lots of parking space available. Local restaurants were walking distance from the property. Shopping is also close by.We met for a family reunion and birthday celebrations and all guests were impressed with the home. Every detail was taken care of for us. Our group wants to come back for another stay. Tyler House is a gem.

What makes this property unique
Crafted in the mid-19th century, The Tyler House features hallmarks of the Greek Revival style—symmetrical facades, gabled roofs, and refined simplicity—yet departs from it in unique, locally inspired ways. Most notably, its portico design emphasizes horizontal lines, a distinctive feature uncommon in Greek Revival homes across Texas. This subtle architectural divergence tells a story of regional adaptation and frontier creativity, offering guests a glimpse into the evolving tastes of the period.
Inside, the home is thoughtfully updated to offer modern comforts while honoring its original craftsmanship. Expect tall ceilings, vintage woodwork, expansive windows, and period details throughout, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere ideal for family getaways, couples' retreats, or history lovers exploring the area.
