Nouveau studio niché dans la forêt à Casa Balbi. Offre un emplacement magnifique sur la propriété, vue sur le ruisseau et la forêt depuis la terraza. Équipé d'un lit QUEEN, kitchenette, salle de bain avec eau chaude, ambiance chaleureuse. Notre emplacement est fantastique car nous sommes à côté d 'une zone protégée Eco - Paz, des sentiers et des installations de loisirs sont proposés. Nous sommes à proximité de la réserve de forêt nuageuse de Santa Elena, du parc d'aventure Selvatura, toutes les visites locales se feront à la maison.

Good Place to Stay in Monteverde

Property is near downtown (walking distance) and a about 15 minute drive to Monteverde and another jungle reserve on same road a few more miles in. Nice garden to relax and room waa great..

Quick and beautiful stay

I absolutely loved this property! I was only there for one night but wish I could have stayed longer. It was absolutely serene and such a beautiful location. The owner was so helpful and provided amazing recommendations!

They were very friendly Dad and Son. We had questions and they were very helpful. Our only wish is that we had more time to stay at there cozy place.

Fantastic spot

We loved our little apartment, even if we were only there for one night. The apartment was well stocked and the location coudln't be beat. The caretaker was incredibly helpful and welcoming. I would absolutely stay at this property again. Just be prepared that parking is a bit tricky to navigate so if you have a bigger vehicle (anything bigger than a small SUV) it might be challenging.

Picturesque, quiet property only a few minutes from everything in Monte Verde

We arrived in the evening on St. Patrick's day and were greeted by one of the long term renters, since the owner was away for the evening. There was more information available from staff and in our room than we could ever need and they were readily available by phone for any needs we had; they were even willing to book tours in the area on our behalf. Our room was exactly as advertised and, even with several other guests, the property was peaceful and relaxing our entire stay. Access to the Ecopaz trail system from the back of the property was unique and afforded us a look at several toucans and other wildlife. The property is only a few minute drive from several hanging bridge tours, night tours, and downtown Santa Elena. We would definitely stay here again for the peace and quiet and convenience.

Excellent piece of paradise in Monteverde!

First off, the photos don't do justice to what this property actually offers. It's a property with little casitas huddled together on a larger piece of acreage, wonderful landscaping, lush forest, and also has that "finca" feel with a bit of open land where sometimes cows will roam. The place is beautiful. I stayed in two separate casitas over the course of 1-2 months and enjoyed my stay immensely. The property owner and managers were so accommodating, checked in with me and catered to making sure I had what I needed. I'm a remote worker heavily dependent on WIFI and was able to work without much interruption. The property is away enough from the center of tourism to enjoy a serene monteverde experience and close enough to access what all of Monteverde offers. The property is also very close to the Santa Elena Cloud Reserve, which I find more enjoyable and beautiful of the reserves in Monteverde. I hope to return soon!

Quiet and rustic

We enjoyed 4 nights in one of Larry's casitas. We had this one booked but when we arrived he informed us he made an error in his booking. He had another casita available (VRBO 4059691). So I have no comment on this one but will comment on the one we were given. Larry is a very friendly and helpful host. He has lived in the area a long time and can make recommendations for eating and touring. Larry's property is just outside of Monteverde making it quiet. We had a 4x4 rented for our trip. This is a must when driving in this area and most areas of Costa Rica. A stream runs behind the casitas where birds are heard singing and seen in water and trees. On a trail behind the property we walked to a lookout for sunsets and to see wildlife. The casita was a good size for both of us. Would be tight for 4 people. The only hot water is in the shower. The dishes are all mismatched and could use more of them. The appliances worked well. We had to ask for a vegetable peeler and blender. The WiFi was good. The bed comfortable. Larry provided a heater if we got cold -which we never used. There was an extra blanket that kept us warm. We did lots of day trips and hiking while in Monteverde. It is a beautiful and scenic area with very friendly people.

Great little studio surrounded by nature

We stayed at Casa Balbi for five nights in January, 2018. It was a totally delightful experience and I would recommend any couple who want to be right in the midst of nature to consider staying here. Our host was kind enough to offer some personal reviews of his favorite spots and restaurants and we enjoyed each of them (Stella's was great for breakfast and bird watching and we returned several times during our stay). We felt like we were living right in the middle of the forest with nature all around us. There is a trail right behind the property where we saw as much wildlife as we saw on the reserves! We even had motmots and toucans right outside our (huge) windows. It would be easy to prepare meals here although we only made coffee, popcorn, etc. and snacks; but there are adequate facilities if you choose to cook and have meals here). All in all, if we every return to Monteverde, we would choose to stay here again. It was just great!

Comfortable,clean,quiet and beautifully located studio with a lovely view.

Perfect place from which to explore Monteverde. The studio was peaceful, and well located next to some excellent trails and within walking distance of town. The owner, Larry, was simply outstanding. His recommendations were spot on and we appreciated all his advice and help. Great value for money and marvellous service, many thanks ! Would return in a flash!

We were delighted to have met Stephanie & David, super nice people, positive in life, polite and great over all travelers. We hope to have them back to play some more Mountain tennis.
