A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds. This is our guesthouse, and sits approximately 30 feet from our house. The patio shown is part of our house. However, we are very respectful of your privacy, and all of the facilities are yours to use during your stay.
Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.
The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.
The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.
If we are booked, or you are looking for something a little bigger, please check out our sister property, listing #923603.
Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.

Rustic Sanctuary
Very nice. It was a quiet get away and we were able to relax when we weren't sightseeing. Lisa and Steve have created a great little sanctuary. Will recommend this place to friends.
Very clean with all everything you need minus food all animals are extremely friendly
Beautiful view!! Very welcoming with wine, and fresh eggs! Small farm with goats, chickens, calves, friendly and sweet family dog, cat, and horse. Bed comfortable and inviting. Had everything we needed!! Highly recommend!!
Great spot in West Texas
My trip was a gift from my husband for me to have a solo getaway to a part of Texas I love. Lisa and Steve’s guesthouse was the perfect space, and they were great hosts. The guesthouse is super clean, well furnished and quiet. One of things I enjoyed most was being with their many chickens, goats, calves and the cottontails who romped through the pasture with the farm animals. Shadow, their friendly dog and Aggie the cat made several appearances. After hiking and driving the scenic routes, it was wonderful to come back and relax outdoors with a glass of wine and Shadow while I waited for the stars to shine. I have told friends about this great place. I plan to return for another stay.

Adorable, well-equipped, conveniently located casita
After camping/hiking in Big Bend for a week, this was the perfect place to relax before making the long drive home. The owner's went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The Casita has everything you need to make a meal, including fresh eggs from the owner's chickens. The hot tub has an amazing view overlooking the goat/chicken pen, and the Texas sky stretches on and on. Excellent star gazing!
Great property with great hosts!
What can I say? We enjoyed every second of our stay here.
Lisa and Steve are fantastic hosts and went above and beyond to make us and our dog feel right at home.
The animal watching while sitting on the back porch was relaxing and the accommodations are top notch. We will be back.
I LOVE IT HERE!
My boyfriend and I had the best time here! Super clean, welcoming, and beautiful. It was the perfect location and scenery to walk up to everyday. Lots of cute animals and comfy place to cook and feel like home. We are already planning on coming back to stay.
Location
Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
