Le Lutece is Paris Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We were two mothers and two adult daughters coming to Paris to celebrate birthdays. The Le Lutece apartment rental in the Latin Quarter was a terrific decision. Kyrstana was our contact and she was overly accommodating to all our requests and needs. The online rental arrangements went smoothly, the lock box set up at the apartment worked very well for our arrival as did the referral for airport shuttle service. Le Lutece is the quintessential Parisian apartment, simple but very functional. It is however, unlike many rentals in Paris as it is very spacious with two large bedrooms, a sitting room with sofa, chair and dining table. It was fantastic for each of us to have our own single bed. It was a bit of a warm spell when we were in Paris (28C-35C), we appreciated the numerous fans in the two bedrooms. The wireless internet was very efficient and the free long distance calls were a bonus! Krystana also arranged for rental of sim card for our iPad and that was a pleasure to not have to deal with. The neighbourhood is charming, we were a convenient distance to the metro and we loved passing through Rue Moufetard daily to pick up market supplies at the fruit & vegetable stands, the bakeries, the cheese shops, meat shops, delis. There are many restaurants nearby as well. We had an amazing stay at Le Lutece and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others. As someone who relies on reviews in making decisions for travel accommodation, please know that this apartment will not disappoint.

Great location, great apartment, great stay!

  • 5 of 5

My 2 sisters and I came to Paris for 6 nights to shop!

The Lutece, Latin Quarter apartment was prefect fit for us,

with all the modern comforts, chic Paris architectural details,

great location, and lots of room.

Cristina and Steve where a pleasure to work with,

the arrival was a breeze, and the elevator a big help with bags.

We ate twice at the bistro on the corner, and the market down stairs was very handy.

I got the Queen bed in the Master, but my sisters slept well in the singles in the second bedroom, which was huge. The moldings on the

ceilings and marble fireplaces were amazing.

The kitchen was well equipped, the washer and dryer a big plus, and the separate toilet is so French, and so smart.

We walked all over the Latin Quarter (rue Mouffetard is a must see), and also used the bus stop just outside the apartment

to take us to other sites -- we like to see Paris while traveling, and you miss a lot in the metro.

We recommend this apartment for families, or girls on a mission!

Dreamy Paris apartment -- classy, roomy, comfortab

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, and our 2 adult children, spent 6 lovely nights in Le Lutece.

The management team couldn't have been better, very informative.

The large apartment was well appointed, tastefully decorated, and had the original Parisian features we love: beautiful ceiling moldings, parquet floors, wanes coating, but all the rest was new, like the windows, electrical, plumbing -- the perfect combo!

It looked to have been recently repainted, and felt very clean.

The master was roomy, with a Queen bed, plenty big for my husband at 6'. The second bedroom was huge, and felt like it's own unit. Big enough for a sofa and 2 singles.

The living room was bright and airy, a comfy place to come together as a family.

The Italian style, walk in shower was a treat.

The kitchen was fully functional, and had all we needed, including cooking oil, etc.

The location was perfect, with a grocery store on the corner of the building, just needed to step outside!

There was a yummy bakery across the street - I recommend the almond croissants - a deli... steps away, restaurants up and down the street, and a block and half away, you'll find the lively rue Mouftard,

lined with bistros, restaurants, shops, etc. etc. -- open Sundays too!

The elevator, while compact, was a big plus for bringing up our heavy bags when we arrived.

We should have packed lighter, since there was a full sized washer and dryer in the apartment.

We recommend this apartment for families, and anyone who wants to feel like a true resident of the

historic Latin Quarter!

Broken down "palace"

  • 2 of 5

First of, the manager Krystyna was amazing.

Unfortunately, the flat was not as expected. The pics are exactly what the place looks like. From the first look, the place was lovely, that is, until you actually live there. The floors were very squeaky. The toilet room was so tiny that the toilet is placed sideways and for someone that is over 5'5 is impossible to sit on it without pushing the wall in front. The kitchen was nice, but then we did not cook there, just used the frig. The bathroom was ridiculously small and smelly, because it had no outlet for the steam and it just sat there. None of the doors were locking well. The door in the "master bedroom" had to be slammed in order to shut. The door connecting the living room was broken so had to use the nearby armchair to hold is shut. The bed in the master bedroom, although, somewhat roomy, had the worse mattress. The elevator was so small that we had to send 2 suitcases by themselves up, because a person could not fit there, as well. It could fit 1 person only! Yet, the worse thing of all was that it was constantly broken. The relied on this building having an elevator because my mom has bad knees. After walking all day in the city, the thing you don't want to do is to walk up the stairs! On the day we were leaving, apparently, it got fixed. However, we decided not to take a chance getting stuck there and walked downstairs with all of our heavy luggage! The buses DO NOT stop right outside of the apartment and there are no RER stations anywhere in site, so don't be fooled by that. There is nothing right outside of the apartment as far as the restaurants or some type of fun life. You have to walk at least 6 blocks to get anywhere.

The only nice thing about this place was the fast response by Krystyna. She tried to help.

I would NOT recommend to stay there to any older people, people with disabilities, or families with kids.

Owner's Response: Great customer service is our priority, as is evident by the praise for our guest coordinator. Unfortunately, this guest was determined to be dissatisfied. **We suspect it was because she requested to cancel, a few days before arrival, with a 100% refund. Per her contract, we explained there would be a service charge--not pleased with our response. She warned us about her mother's bad knees, and we offered a greeter, to help. She said no, and requested a self-check-in. We were still worried, so we asked our greeter to go anyway. When he met them in the lobby, she refused his help. He watched, stunned, as her elderly mother carried her own bags. The joy of staying in an authentic Parisian apartment (over 250 years old) are amazing details: original, oak parquet floors, ceiling moldings, oak doors, etc. If guest was uncomfortable with walking on parquet floors, maybe an American style hotel would have been a better fit? The WC is in a room big enough for a stacked, full sized washer and dryer. The toilet is a typical size for active Parisians, but might be tight for heavier people. She stayed 6 nights, and sent our guest coordinator 2 - 3 emails per day, for general info on good restaurants, etc. When asked about apartment, her only commentary was: **"the apartment is lovely, thank you for making it comfortable for us." When the elevator stopped working, and we received an email from guest at 10pm. We called the elevator maintenance, and received a text at midnight that it was repaired (2 hours later) ** We immediately sent update, and we refunded a night's fees, with our apologies -- *no response from her. With repainting, the oak doors might have been tough to close, because of excess paint. If she had told us, maintenance would have gone over immediately. *The doors have now been adjusted to close correctly. **The comment about the lack of bus stop leaves us the most perplexed. We wonder how she didn't notice the torn up sidewalk in front of the building, with holes 6 feet deep? The city was working on water mains, and created a pedestrian walk way directly on the street itself, with barriers to protect against cars. The bus stop was moved 50 feet up the street, because it would be challenging for people to jump over a 4 foot barrier to get on bus! We could continue to address issue by issue raised by this guest, but we hope it's clear that our priority is the comfort of our guests, and her criticisms lack sincerity...

I would definitely stay here again. Loved to be able to go to the Luxembourg Gardens to run, the mini market downstairs. The restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay in Paris especially with kids

  • 5 of 5

We had a week in Steven and Veronica's Le Lutece apartment in September. We arrived jetlag gedanken from our flight from Melbourne to find everything ready to go. Kitchen stocked with basics, oils, spices, etc. and a very handy corner store on ground level and bakery across the street. We thought it may be loud at night as it's on a fairly main street but minimal noise could be heard after 10pm. Beds were very comfortable. It's proximity to markets and great food shops was wonderful and we made full use of the bus at the door and another a few hundred metres away that took us pretty well anywhere we wanted to go. Thanks to Krystyna who was brilliant at getting a blocked sink fixed immediately.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment. Brilliant.
