A great place to relax

Modern amenities in à house with history, close to many attractions when you go out and a great view when you stay in! Loved the geothermal hottub that looks like a hottub but definitely feels like a hotspring. Amazing!

Ferstikla 2 is perfect

We stayed three nights and we did not want to leave. Beautiful sunrises and beautiful sunsets and a great location to see south and western Iceland. And the house is charming with a lovely personal touch.

Beautiful property

The house was clean and very roomy. The one bathroom for 3 of us, we thought would be a challenge but it worked out fine. The view is amazing, unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there so we didn't enjoy the patio and hot tub. It was farther from Reykjavik than I thought but the drive was easy.

Paradise on Hvalfjordur

This property is not only beautiful and private, but it’s larger than it looks from the pictures. It is well appointed and I am taking some decorating ideas home with me! The views are priceless and it allowed us to have a real home to come back to after long days of immersing ourselves in this beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us, we loved it!

Absolutely Wonderful

The house is just beautiful! We enjoyed the hot tub and the back deck. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The owner was very responsive and friendly. The grocery store was close and you definitely want to stock up before getting to the house. Tips- bring your debit card with a pin for fuel. They don't take credit cards. Vik is about 2 1/2 hours away but well worth the drive. Go see the Katla caves! We went in March and it was very cold and windy. Go visit in the spring! The house has a washer and dryer so don't overpack. There wasn't a microwave so plan for that.

A magical home on Hvalfjörður in Iceland

We could not have been happier with our stay at Bára's property on this lovely fjord in August. The 3-bedroom house is utterly private, well-situated, comfortable, and has every amenity that your own home would have. The kitchen is bright and airy, well-equipped for cooking full meals, with a full complement of spices, oil, dishes, pots and pans. The laundry room has a full-sized washer and drying racks, as well as cleaning supplies. The beds in the three bedrooms are comfortable and the TV room is cosy. The hot tub may be filled for each new party that stays in the home and is geothermally heated. We grilled outside on the patio and enjoyed the ever-changing views across the fjord. A nearby hotel offers dinners, though we were happy to cook and eat at home. Glymur Falls hike is a short distance away. We explored the Snaefellsnes peninsula one day, though that was a lot of driving. I recommend driving around this scenic fjord rather than taking the tunnel to arrive at the property. I cannot recommend this property highly enough; we were sorry to leave. Bára was a thoughtful, communicative host and has done an outstanding job with this property.

Traumhaft am Fjord

Das Haus Ferstlika 2 war unsere 1. Anlaufstelle in Island. Den unvergleichlichen Blick auf den Fjord und die umliegenden Berge haben wir aus jedem Fenster genossen. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Gute Ausgangslage für verschiedene Ausflüge: Reykjavik, Hraunafoss, Fjord Umrundung. Zwei Wochen am Fjord

Mein Mann und ich verbrachten zwei wunderbare Wochen in Ferstikla/Hvalfjördur. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, es hat alles, was man braucht. Die Aussicht auf den Fjord ist phantastisch. Das Haus liegt einsam und sehr ruhig. Um das Haus herum kann man schöne Spaziergänge durch Wald und dem Meer entlang machen.

Wunderschönes Haus mit atemberaubender Aussicht

Wir haben sehr schöne und unvergessliche Tage in diesem tollen Haus verbracht. Der Check-In hat wunderbar geklappt. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern ist unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet. Die Aufteilung der Zimmer ist sehr gut. Die Küche ist top ausgestattet, mit Pfannen und Töpfen sowie Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Toaster u. v. m. Das Haus verfügt über eine Waschmaschine und einen Trockner in einem separaten Zimmer. Sowohl von der Küche wie auch dem Wohnzimmer hat man einen unbeschreiblich schönen Ausblick auf den Fjord. Wer braucht da Fernsehen, wenn man diesen Blick genießen hat? Die Landschaft rund um das Haus ist fantastisch und man kann gar nicht genug davon bekommen. Der Hot Pot wurde fast täglich genutzt, bei dem herrlichen Winterwitter genau das richtige. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und kommen gerne wieder.

Amazing home

We stayed a week in September 2022 at this lovely home. For us the home was in a perfect location for both privacy and the ability to travel throughout the southwest and western part of Iceland. Reykjavik is a 45 min drive from the home. The home is super clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the hot tub very much. The beds were great and the kitchen is well equipped. We were fortunate to be able to see the Northern Lights one night at the house. We would love to visit again some day!

Tolles Haus in schöner Lage

Wir haben die Tage mit unseren zwei erwachsenen Töchtern hier sehr genossen. Das Haus ist praktikabel ausgestattet und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Vom Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer, der Terrasse und dem Hot Tub hat man eine schöne Aussicht in die Landschaft und aufs Wasser. Wir können das Haus auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Viel Platz und traumhafter Ausblick

Das Haus war unser erster Anlaufpunkt nach der Landung in Island und erwies sich als eine sehr gute Wahl auf unserem Weg in den Norden. Ca. 1 Stunde 20 min vom Flughafen entfernt ist die Strecke nach der Ankunft und Übernahme des Autos noch gut zu bewältigen. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war sehr pünktlich und sehr herzlich. Die Wegbeschreibung war sehr gut und das Haus damit leicht zu finden. Der Schlüssel befindet sich in einer Box am Haus. Der Schlüsselcode wurde rechtzeitig mitgeteilt. Somit würde sich das Haus auch für sehr späte Ankünfte eignen. Das Haus selbst ist modernisiert und sehr schön eingerichtet. Es wurde liebevoll ausgestattet, und es ist alles vorhanden, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigt. Vom Toilettenpapier über Gewürze bis zu Folien und Geschirrspültabs war alles da und noch viel mehr. Aber das beste ist der Ausblick auf den Fjord sowohl von der Terasse als auch aus dem Pool und aus fast allen Zimmern des Hauses. Die Schlafzimmer sind gemütlich und die Betten sind sehr gut. Alles war sauber und sehr schön für unsere Ankunft vorbereitet. Auch der Pool war sehr sauber und gut zu bedienen. Da wir das Haus auf der Hintour nur zwei Tage hatten, haben wir uns auf die weiteren zwei Tage auf der Rücktour sehr gefreut. Beim nächten mal bleiben wir länger. Das Haus ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen in Südwesten und im Süden. Wir haben nur den Weg um den schönen Fjord herum erkundet. Und wir haben die äußerst lohnenswerte Wanderung zum Glymur Wasserfall gemacht. Bei gutem Wetter ein tolles Erlebnis. Liebe Vermieter, es war toll, wir kommen wieder.

Fyord views

Lovely property w beautiful fyord views ... watching the fog roll in and out from the hot tub... further away from many places to see but loved the space ...we planned and cooked all of our own meals 😋
