About Laurie Beeman

Trev and Laurie both love this private gem on the Sunshine Coast and would love to share it with you! Laurie was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast and really enjoys the beauty, nature and sense of community on the Sunshine Coast.

Trevors family has owned property in Secret Cove since the 1970's and really enjoys the outdoors and fishing in the area.

Laurie Beeman purchased this house in 2012

Why Laurie Beeman chose Sunshine Coast

This is such a unique piece of property. You are close to the ocean and an expansive sky. Part of this property has been owned by Trevor's family since the 70's and it is so beautiful and peaceful here. When we had the opportunity to buy the rest of the property, we felt lucky to have the opportunity.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the expansive sky, the ocean, the wildlife, and sense of peace here. It is truly unique with no traffic noise, only boats, and sealife. When we saw a stellar sea lion playing with a salmon in the ocean in front of the house, we were captivated!

We had a fantastic stay with my parents and in-laws at the Bird's Nest!

  • 5 of 5

Laurie was the perfect hostess, giving us a warm welcome and hike/day trip suggestions for our weekend at their beautiful house. The view from the patio & living room are amazing! For three couples it's rare to find accommodation that provides enough private space and the Bird's Nest definitely exceeded our expectations in this. The surrounding area is very quiet, lots of great hikes like Smugglers Cove & Francis Point are just a short drive away and Sechelt (check out the Lighthouse Pub) is not far. Highly recommend staying here!

Owner's Response: Hi Kathrin; It was a pleasure to have you and your family stay at the Bird's nest. Glad you were comfortable and the weather was also nice for you! Funny you discovered a sneaky woodpecker drinking out of the hummingbird feeder! :) Hope you can make it back one day! Sincerely, Laurie

Amazing views and peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay. The house is setup great and the sunsets were incredible. Very nice decor and comfortable beds. If we find ourself back in this beautiful area we will most definitely stay here again. Even saw multiple bald eagles from the deck. Took a 3 min drive to a marina where we chartered a sailboat for the day! Truly beautiful scenery and nature! Orcas, bald eagles, seals, and a picnic. We were 2 couples traveling.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much Kiel for deciding to come to the Bird's Nest! We were so glad you were the first guests to enjoy our improved ocean view since we had some trees topped! There have been so many eagles, and blue herons and Canadian geese having their babies this time of year; such a sight to see. Glad you were able to get out sailing, its such a different world out on the ocean. There have been so many more Orca sightings on the Sunshine Coast this year. Look forward to having you return one day!

A piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage sitting in a quiet cove. It was very nice of the owners to let us use their kayaks and row boat. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen and the appliance looked very new. The whole house was clean and comfy!

Beautiful home with all the immenities you need. Bring food and your set for your stay!

Thank you Laurie this trip for me and my sons was more than I could have hoped for. Quality time I don't get a lot of with them as everyone is busy with work and we don't live that close to each other. I will cherish this weekend for a long time! 3 beautiful bedrooms and a well laid out main floor with beautiful views. Will definitely try to book again In the future!

Bird's Nest is located in one of the most beautiful, private areas on the Sunshine Coast. The home faces southwest with fabulous views of beautiful sunsets and open sky. It is a perfect getaway for boaters, kayakers, or just a break from life, to rejuvenate your soul!

There is a dock in front of the house on the water for you to use! If you have a kayak or canoe, you're welcome to bring it; there are many beautiful areas to explore here. There are also places to rent kayaks close by if you don't have your own.

Thormandby Island has gorgeous white sand beaches and is only 10 minutes away by boat! You feel like your on a tropical island! Great place for a picnic, swimming, frisbee, bocce ball, or just relaxing in the sun!

Simson Marine park is located on South Thormandby Island, and Jedediah Island is a half hour away which is a provincial park with an old Homestead to explore, complete with orchard, and sheep still inhabiting the island; a lovely day trip!

Smugglers Cove is a ten minute drive away which has a resident beaver; volunteers have built wooden walkways above the flooded areas. After a lovely walk in the forest and through open marshland areas; you end up overlooking gorgeous bays and expansive ocean.

Homesite Cave trails are close by which meanders around limestone caves and sinkholes, while also being situated amongst a second old growth forest and waterfall!

This is an amazing area for Mountain biking as volunteers have built many trails all over the coast for you to enjoy. Easy access to the new Suncoaster trail!

These are only a few gems of the area, there are so many areas to explore! We can provide more information as requested. Look forward to your arrival!
