About the property

Cabin, 6 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 12-16)

'Falling Water' is located on Reeder Creek with a one minute walk through the woods to a beautiful sandy beach on pristine Priest Lake in northern Idaho.

Priest Lake is a large, clear, deep water lake, 19 miles long, four miles wide, with numerous beaches, and famous for its beauty, tranquility, and incredible wildlife. It is located about 90 miles from Spokane airport, and the lake itself has two small airfields. The Priest Lake area offers superb water sports, fishing, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and golfing. Several excellent restaurants are situated on the lake within easy boating or driving distance. There is a boat mooring for guests within 2 minute's walk from the cabin at Elkins Resort which also offers an award winning restaurant and more casual food and live music in the bar, a store as well as rental of water sports equipment.

While Priest Lake has a long established reputation as a wonderful summer resort area, in the past few years a 400 mile system of snowmobile trails, including a groomed trail to Schweitzer Ski Resort, has made Priest Lake one of the best snowmobiling destinations in the US. The area offers thousands of acres of amazing snowmobiling to an increasing number of winter sports fans who spend a weekend or longer here during the winter months.

This gorgeous 6 bedroom timberframe cabin was built six years ago to the highest standards. The sound of the creek which runs within a few feet of the cabin provides a constant background of music. The great room has a 26 foot pine clad cathedral ceiling and an enormous stone fireplace, with comfortable leather sofas and additional seating. The kitchen and all 3 bathrooms have granite counters with slate floors. The kitchen has been designed to accomodate groups who like to prepare meals together with ample counter space for several cooks, and is fully equipped with a large fridge freezer and external ice/water dispenser, microwave, gas stove/electric oven, coffee grinder and maker, dishwasher and garbage diposal. Outside is an enormous deck with lounge chairs and barbeque. Twelve adults can dine at the custom built tables, with additional seating at the kitchen island.

There are 3 bedrooms with queen-size beds and 3 bedrooms with two full size single beds in each. The master bedroom has a cathedral ceiling and external deck as well as balcony onto the great room. The main floor queen bedroom and bathroom are wheelchair accessible, as is the rest of the main floor and deck. On the upper floor there are two additional bathrooms for the four bedrooms on that floor. In addition to the master bedroom, the other queen bedroom on this floor has a balcony onto the great room. The bed and bath linens are all supplied and of fine quality. It is possible to accomodate younger guests in several of the bedrooms if the group exceeds 12 people.

Falling Water is a private home in an exceptional location, offering luxurious and spacious family accommodation for all seasons.

Great house for our large family, 8 adults, 6 kids

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful week. The house was great for our large family. very well equipped. only complaint was no wifi. The lake access, boat availability, golf course and water sports was great. 2 issues. 1 was there was a power failure one day for 6 hours. the fumes from the propane generator made 1 adult and 2 kids mildly sick that were in the 2 bedrooms next to the generator. The 2nd was the clothes dryer seems to be dying. Took an hour to dry things and towels took forever. However, we would definitly come back. Kristi did a great job helping us. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Don, I'm so glad you had such a good time at the cabin, and thank you for your feedback; it is much appreciated. The dryer and the washing machine are both being replaced this coming week, with new, high capacity models. I am very sorry to hear of the issue of fumes from the generator making people feel mildly nauseated. The cause is somewhat mystifying, in that it has been used reliably over more than a decade without issue, it has recently been serviced, and it is regularly exercised to ensure clean operation. Perhaps the windows were ajar in the downstairs bedrooms adjacent to the generator, but in any event, I will double check the generator, and install carbon monoxide detectors in all bedrooms on that side of the cabin.

This place is awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 7 nights with 6 adults and 6 kids and it was perfect! The cabin is set up nicely for entertaining large groups of people. Beach is close by via 2 minute walk on a trail through the woods or 5 min walk down the road. Being close to Elkins Resort is an added bonus; nice restaurant and bar, small convenient store, play structure on the beach for kids, as well as fire pits on the beach. The cabin stays relatively cool on hot days since it is situated back in the trees and right on the creek. Kristi the property manager was extremely nice and helpful, as was Steve the owner. We would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone!

Immaculate property, very welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay. Cabin was well furnished, even had a generator which we had to use on our last night when a large part of the lake lost power. Comfy beds, wonderful great room and deck. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for letting us have our family reunion at the lovely place!

Awesome property

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! The house was spacious, as was the deck, and nicely furnished. Being next to the creek and Elkins resort was fantastic. When we arrived at the property we were met by Kristi, who showed us around the house to ensure we were comfortable with everything. She is truly a blessing! This is a house I would stay at again without hesitation!

Beautiful well kept property.

  • 5 of 5

Lots of room for our large family! Everyone had a bed and a seat at the dinner table. Beautiful surroundings not far from snowmobile trails. The driveway was a little tricky but we made it work. Would definitely recommend this property! We will be back!!
