Excellent Beach location

This place is a gem for anybody who wants oceanfront beach access in Malibu. I would suggest a better cleaning service however. The main windows that overlook the ocean had hundreds of hand prints all over them.....since I was going to be there for five days we took 20 minutes out of our time to clean them because they were so disgusting! However for the price this place is a great value!

Owner's Response: Sorry about the Housekeeping service. We were on vacation when these guests arrived and during their entire stay We have corrected this problem by demanding better cleaning and our personal follow up inspection. I apologized to the guest. Excluding the windows, the travelers were very happy with our Pied a terre and there entire stay in Malibu. The guest said to me that he was so pleased that he will return in the future. Pete

For the money, I would have preferred a hotel.

We would never stay at this place again.

The view from the porch was amazing...watching the AM dolphins and the waves wash under the bungalow was mesmerizing. Being off the PCH was also a plus. The owners were nice.

There are many things, however, that probably will not and cannot change in this rental... Hearing the next door renters through the wall and the problematic downstairs neighbor and her barking dog are two examples.

A few things need addressing...The rotten porch furniture that my husband fell through and the large ant population which was everywhere. We bought ant traps which didn't help. Ants were the worst in the kitchen, but they were everywhere. They were all over the dresser by the bed and all over the bathroom sink area, too

Memories from our visit:

Waking up very early, the first morning, to the downstairs neighbor pounding on our door. She said that we had parked our car, the day before, in the wrong place and if wasn't moved immediately, she would have it towed. She said that she did not know where we could park our car. The owners apologized profusely and told us we were just on the wrong side of the driveway and that parking across the street was also available and not a tow zone.

Listening to the downstairs neighbor's dog barking when she came home late at night and then listening to her let the dog out, in the courtyard...more barking.

Not being able to open the french doors while we slept because the light poured in from the courtyard.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry that that your recent Malibu vacation was disappointing to you I spoke to you repeatedly, and I never heard from you or your husband about any but 1 of the complaints which you reported in your review. I was aware of one problem of you blocking a tenant's parking space. I originally sent you a written communication regarding your proper parking space. Had you followed these instructions, this issue never would have occurred We all know how annoying it can be when when entry to a parking space is blocked by another person. This woman wasn't even a tenant and has no right to abuse you. Regarding the barking dog, all you should have done was to discuss this with his guest and call me. I would have come down myself or contacted the Malibu Sheriff or both. No one is allowed to disrespect or violate the peaceful use of the apartment after 10 or 11 PM. This person was the girlfriend of the tenant, and she was his guest while he was in NYC. She was not the tenant,. and had I been informed by you of these issues, I would have been happy to offer you the lower condo of my building # 455468 for the same price which you paid, just to make your trip as perfect as it should have been. However, you never said anything to me even when you came to my home to get the $350 check which I promised to give you for the VRBO quote error. You never said a word about your complaints to me. The other property is a beautiful 2500 sq ft 2+2 huge deck and Jacuzzi on the same deck and on the same beach just 20 houses away. Simple communication between all would have ended your frustration and disappointment regarding your vacation. Finally, the problems of the girlfriend, dog, and tenant have been eliminated, because they have moved out and are gone forever on 11-30-17. Sincerely, Peter and Mary Ann

Cozy beach bungalow

We had a great time here. Peter and MaryAnn were very accommodating and gracious hosts. The unit is on the second floor, right on the beach. It's perfect for two, and three is ok, but there is only one bathroom, so a bit crowded if you plan on 4. Very nice place and we definitely would come back.

Perhaps if you look at the videos and slide shows you would be interested. They are equal or less price per person per day depending the size and they are very beautiful and spacious. Please check the VRBO properties 455468 and 457255. You won't be disappointed. In any case, please return whenever you want, and whatever place your family needs. If you want to stay on the beach! This is the place! Stayed for Labor Day weekend! Enjoyed going down the steps right to the beach and swim in the ocean everyday! It was awesome!

Hearing the surf crash during the day and night was a nice experience.Was a very relaxing 3 days to unwind.Will definitely be booking again! What are you waiting for Book It !!!!

Great beachfront stay in Malibu

Great upper level unit, right on a beautiful Malibu beach. The unit has one bedroom and a large pullout sofa. The unit is well decorated and has a nice tv and entertainment system. You can sit on the deck and watch seals and dolphins pass by. Great location, close to shopping and restaurants. Pete was a great host, I would definitely stay again.

Lovely place right on the ocean!

My daughter and I stayed a blissful week here. The location is great, right near Malibu Country Mart and shopping, restaurants, etc. We swam every day, saw dolphins from the deck and watched 4th of July fireworks all down the coast. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, good internet service and lots of little extras like beach towels and boogie boards. Fun!
