The home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Enjoy the the view from the wrap-around porch, or the surprising privacy of the back yard living area and open space, where you will likely see deer and other wildlife. This private outside space can be used for recreational marijuana, be aware that use in public is prohibited.

Inside you'll find the home has been well appointed with antiques and period decor that will return you to the late nineteenth century, except with modern conveniences.

Manitou Springs is a small mountain community set in the foothills of Pikes Peak. It has a very walkable downtown which is only two blocks from the home. There are many great locally owned restaurants and shops and free mineral springs scattered around town. There is a also city park with a playground and stream only two blocks away.

For the more adventurous, the home is located less than ten minutes from numerous hiking and biking trails including Barr trail, Red Rocks park, The Manitou Incline, Garden of the Gods, Pike National Forest and much more.

If you've never been to the Pikes Peak region before then you are in for a treat, if you have, you know how much there is to see and do. The climate is generally dry and sunny and in the summer it cools down nicely even after the hottest days.

It's a great piece of Manitou Springs history. built at the turn on the 19th century. The home is located only two blocks from downtown Manitou, so it's in a very walkable location. The fact that it's located near the eastern edge of downtown means you miss most traffic when you drive. Also there is off-street parking in the rear of the home which is a huge plus in Manitou

Check out this 118 year old gem!

We really enjoyed our stay at this 118 year old house (as of 2017)! What a cool property!

Our family of 5 stayed for a week during Spring Break and was able to utilize the entire house. [Note that the upstairs and downstairs can be separated into two distinct living areas, each having a kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathroom and separate ingress/egress.] As other reviews have noted, the house is on a hill about two blocks south of the downtown main street in Manitou Springs. We walked nearly everywhere we went in Manitou because of the property's close proximity to the restaurants/bars, shops, penny arcade (really cool), ice cream stores, coffee shops and fudge makers. We saw many deer and a few squirrels in the backyard both in the morning and the early evening.

Details:

The listing was accurate, including amenities, and the property was well maintained. The owners were very responsive, friendly and accommodating. The property is located within short drives to a number of local attractions, including Pikes Peak, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, the infamous Incline, Old Colorado City, the Olympic Training Center, and of course, Colorado Springs. Inside the house, the beds were comfortable, the shower on the bottom floor was great and the claw foot tubs were a welcome step into the past. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook most any meal, the outdoor grill was operable and worked great, and all the kitchen appliances were relatively new and in good working order. The central heating system worked very well and was extremely efficient at keeping the house comfortable. Outside the house, the backyard has off-street parking that is private and secure. Both the interior and exterior of the house were well lit and bedrooms have ceiling fans. Most importantly, we felt very safe at this location.

I would recommend this property to friends and family and would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely perfect

Being so close to downtown Manitou was awesome! We appreciated the many amenties (amazing shower, claw foot tub, washer/dryer, high chair). Over our stay we saw lots of beautiful wildlife in the yard as well! The owners were very friendly & accommodating.

Great Location & Unique Property!

My wife & I (both retired) stayed here last week, and have nothing but good things to say. The property is large, plenty of parking in the back, private, lots of friendly wildlife. Several table & chairs for outside smoking. Inside is like a step back into earlier years, very cute. Very clean, as noted in other reviews, everything one would need if one wanted to cook - it's all provided. We hope for a return visit next year. The location is perfect for those day trips to Pike's Peak and Garden of the gods. You will enjoy your stay here!

Manitou Dreams ...come true

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, two grand kids and I just recently stayed here for one week. 6 people X 2 thumbs each = twelve thumbs up. As soon as we pulled in the driveway we were greeted by a mule deer. During the week we were also greeted by elk, raccoons, magpies and a family of squirrels. This was our first VRBO and we were not sure what to expect. We were surprised to find, that basically, like Michael said, we only need our clothes and food. The house is up a hill in close walking distance to downtown Manitou Springs. My wife is disabled and utilizes a walker, but had NO access problem from back door entrance and easy access to the whole bottom floor including two bathrooms. This is our 4th visit to the Manitou Springs area in 10 years and I would be over-selling the experience if I say that the Pike's Peak area experience is the cake and our stay at Manitou Dreams at 113 Deer Path is the ICING ON THE CAKE. This house afforded us lifetime memories as our grand-kids shrieked with delight when they saw and entered it. Now that we are home they are showing the home off to their friends on the I-Phone and the internet. Again, 12 thumbs up on our Manitou Dreams stay, we are not only planning to return next year ... we are also scheming & dreaming about returning for the autumn leaves period. Thank you Manitou Dream !!!

Too short of visit!

My husband and I stayed in this charming and spacious Victorian home for three short nights during the International Space Symposium in April. There were plenty of closets and drawers, had a well equipped kitchen and felt very safe. It truly had everything we needed and then some. (It even comes with a piano and guitar!) There was a couple living on the floor above us during the time of year we visited. I was initially nervous they would keep us from getting a decent nigh's sleep but they were quiet and kept to themselves. I understand at other times of the year you would have the entire house all to yourself. It was within walking distance to restaurants, shops and everything Manitou Springs has to offer. The owner was helpful yet unobtrusive. We would definitely book this VRBO again and will recommend it to anyone visiting the Colorado Springs area. An easy five stars.

There is the Cog Railway and the Pikes Peak highway both of which take you to the summit of America's Mountain and beautiful, historic Ute Pass. There are so many attractions in this area that you are sure to find something for everyone. Whether you stay for just a few days or a few weeks you will not have time to see and do it all.
