Why Laurie Clark chose Beacon
The property and house are special. Not just because it's a beautiful and unique East Lake Victorian house - but because of its relaxed atmosphere. Over the years artists, musicians and writers have all remarked that it was a wonderfully "creative" space. While it is located a walkable distance from the Hudson River and Metro-North Train Station - the home offers off street parking for multiple vehicles. The house sits right off Beacon's Main Street - making it close to mostly everything Beacon has to offer. Beacon is a wonderful walking town. When a day of exploring is finished, it's nice to have only a short walk back to a quiet and comfortable place for a reflective evening and peaceful rest.
What makes this House unique
Lovely walking grounds. Close to hiking trails. Great restaurants right up the street! Plenty of safe, quiet side streets. Private parking. A lovely view of Mt. Beacon from the spacious front porch seating. A sense of splendid grandeur while enjoying the beautifully arranged East Lake Victorian turret living room and the Blue Room poster bed.

Overall I had a great experience while there. Prior to being there, while booking, I took issue with no children being allowed. After discussion with Laurie she left it up to me whether my daughter could come.
My other concern was a steep damage deposit of $1000. That could be tough for people to have tied up for a period of time.
Laurie was very friendly, thorough, and responsive.
Cozy historic home in the heart of Beacon
Laurie's home is a beautiful, historic home built in 1870 and carefully mantained. Not only it is quiet and peaceful but also seconds away from Main St in Beacon. Laurie was a wonderful host - the house was very clean, she was responsive and great to talk to and treated us with some homemade cookies! I hope I can come back soon.
Everything was as described and Laurie was welcoming. Very private accommodation and conveniently located.
Awesome! For so many reasons!
We loved this place. Beautiful charming Victorian. Spotlessly clean and super comfy beds. Laurie was so accommodating. We didn’t want to leave!
Also, the location was so convenient for good food, museums, and touring the
Hudson River Valley.
Thank you so much Kim!
So glad you had a nice time in the Hudson Valley! I hope the rest of your trip went well - it was very nice meeting both of you!
A lovely home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful location and a very comfortable atmosphere. Laurie is a wonderful host!
Ben and his friends were wonderful guests! They were a very nice group visiting Beacon to attend a wedding - I'm so glad they had a wonderful time!. They left the house and property tidy and in good shape - and are certainly welcome back anytime!
Lovely and well located
We really enjoyed our stay in this charming Beacon Victorian. The rental is the upper two floors of this beautiful home, which is lovingly decorated and very clean. We particularly enjoyed the porch which wraps around the front of the house. The house is located just a few minutes’ walk from downtown which has many restaurants and shops and just a few minutes’ drive from interstate 84. The Metro-North train station is within walkable distance (along with riverfront parks and the Dia Beacon). The train can take you into NYC or further north along the Hudson. Laurie was a perfect and attentive host, making sure we were comfortable. She even gave us fresh-baked cookies! We would definitely rent this property again.
Located on a quiet street adjacent to Main Street Beacon. On the largest land plot in downtown Beacon, this residence is of an East Lake Victorian style and was specially constructed in the 1870’s. It was originally built as the residence of Dr. Theil. In fact, Dr. Theil later built the homes immediately visible to the left and right for his growing family, so in a sense the neighborhood has remained untouched.
Since 1995 this has been my home. I have recently completed renovations to help establish this house as a premier extended-stay residence property in the heart of Beacon NY. Today, Beacon's quaint shops and restaurants are located within a short walk from the property entrance. There is ample, private parking on premises and a Metro-North rail station is less than two miles away. Welcome!
