About this property

Silo Creek Cabin in Ohio

Romantic getaway nestled in the hills of southern Ohio
Escape to Silo Creek Cabin — a thoughtfully designed one-bedroom hideaway built exclusively for couples seeking privacy, comfort, and a touch of rustic charm. Tucked away on 100 peaceful acres of the Timber Ridge property, this cabin offers a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty, making it the ultimate retreat for anniversaries, honeymoons, or simply taking time to reconnect.
A Peaceful, Private Setting
Silo Creek Cabin sits in an open, private setting with no houses or other cabins in sight — giving you a true sense of seclusion. The property is home to abundant wildlife, with deer frequently grazing nearby, and offers breathtaking views in the fall when the hillsides explode with color.
While the location is peaceful, we believe in being fully transparent: the cabin is located near a single-lane rural township road that normally sees very little traffic. However, during the school year (mid-August through late May), the road does experience increased traffic on school days between 7:30–8:00 a.m. and again from about 2:40–3:00 p.m. due to a nearby school. Most guests find it only a minor occurrence, but we want you to be aware.
Plenty to Explore
Guests have access to miles of private hiking trails through the property, as well as two large, fully stocked fishing ponds located elsewhere on the land — home to bass, bluegill, and crappie. You’re welcome to fish, relax along the banks, or take the paddle boat out for a leisurely ride.
Comfortable and Well-Equipped
Inside, you’ll find a cozy living space with a plush king-size bed and a full kitchen stocked with cookware, utensils, and modern appliances — perfect for enjoying everything from a candlelit dinner to a lazy weekend breakfast. The indoor bathroom is simple and functional, but the true standout is found just outside…
A One-of-a-Kind Outdoor Oasis
The outdoor space at Silo Creek Cabin is the highlight of your stay. The seasonal outdoor shower built inside an authentic grain silo is both unique and unforgettable, offering privacy while letting you enjoy the fresh air. The hot tub is perfect for soaking under the stars, while the fire pit invites cozy evenings roasting marshmallows or sharing a bottle of wine. A gas grill makes outdoor cooking easy, and warm, inviting lighting creates the perfect nighttime atmosphere.
Exclusively for Two Guests
Silo Creek Cabin is intentionally limited to two guests to ensure privacy and a peaceful environment. Every stay includes meticulous cleaning and sanitization, with fresh linens, towels, and toiletries provided. We’ve carefully stocked the cabin with everything you might need so you can focus on relaxing.
The Beauty of Southern Ohio — The “Little Smokies”
Your stay at Silo Creek Cabin places you in the heart of one of Ohio’s most beautiful and underrated regions. Often referred to as the “Little Smokies” for its rolling hills, lush forests, and misty morning views, this area offers a landscape that feels worlds away from the bustle of everyday life.
We’re located just a short drive from the Ohio River, where you can take in scenic views or stroll along the famous floodwall murals — a vibrant outdoor art display depicting the area’s rich history. Nature lovers will appreciate the nearby Shawnee State Forest, Ohio’s largest state forest, offering endless opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography. The winding country roads, changing seasonal colors, and peaceful valleys make this a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Local Flavor & Small-Town Charm
When you’re ready to explore beyond the cabin, you’ll find countless locally owned restaurants serving everything from hearty comfort food to chef-inspired dishes. Many offer cozy atmospheres and warm hospitality that make dining out in southern Ohio a special part of your trip. You’ll also discover boutique shops, antique stores, and charming small-town streets perfect for a leisurely afternoon.
Your Digital Guide to the Area
Before arrival, guests receive a personalized digital welcome guide packed with helpful information — from step-by-step check-in instructions to local dining recommendations, sightseeing tips, and a list of nearby attractions. Whether you want to explore historic Portsmouth, wander Shawnee State Forest, take in the Ohio River views, or simply unwind in nature, our guide helps you make the most of your time here.
