Peaceful Hill Country Cottage in The Hollows Resort

Tranquility in the Texas Hill Country, private and quiet cottage nestled in the woods on the north shore of Lake Travis. Simply enjoy the peaceful setting overlooking the hill country or take advantage of the many amenities. The cottage is located in the luxury resort community of The Hollows. Just outside your front door is the trailhead for a network of hike and bike trails covering 10 miles. The cottage is a short distance ( 5 min drive or 1.5 mile walk) from the marina, Beach Club Grill, and Beach Club (pools, hot tub, gym, volleyball, picnic areas, beach access to the lake, kayaking, and playground). The Beach Club has an infinity edge beach entry pool as well as several grotto style pools. There is a seasonal restaurant on site open during high season, Thursday-Sunday serving food, themed drinks and music . There is a monthly activity/event calendar with activities for kids and adults (smores, kick ball, arts and crafts for the kids and a bloody mary bar for the adults for example). The big pool is not heated in the off season, however the hot tub, located by the grotto style pools, is turned on during off season. The Marina has won best marina in Texas. Boat and trailer parking is available upon request. You can also contact the Marina for boat rentals and cruises. There is also a Hilltop Smokehouse you can reserve (4 min drive from the cottage) where you can host family reunions, rehearsal dinners, get-togethers, etc).

The Hollows is located roughly 30 miles northwest of Austin, Texas where you can experience museums, arts, festivals, live music, shopping, visit University of Texas to name a few. The Hollows is also close to several destination towns (Fredericksburg, Wimberly, Horseshoe Bay, and Marble Falls). Flat Creek Winery, Lago Vista and Highland Lakes Golf Club are a 20 min and 12 min drive respectively. There is a grocery store, CVS, and restaurants five minutes away. There is truly something for everyone.

This was a beautiful location.

This was a great location for my family to stay to watch the eclipse. The house was very clean and easy to access. The only issues we had was, the clubhouse was closed for renovations, and the bed was comfortable, but kind of squeaky. Thanks for the great stay

A wedding at Villa Antonia

Lovely property, my wife two nieces and a new born stayed here to be close to the wedding venue as several of us were in the wedding party. The only hiccup was we were given an incorrect lock code that made property entry harder than it should be.

Family Spring Break

We so enjoyed our stay at Patrick and Lisa’s home. Everything was absolutely wonderful and just want you need in a vacation home. The views and walking paths at the Hollows are great! Our boys loved fishing off the dock at the beach and enjoyed the swimming pools. Seriously cannot imagine how you would do a vacation home any better. Every detail was thought of. You feel far from town but only a 7min Drive for groceries. Kitchen was fully stocked and we cooked most meals at the home. Worth every bit of our drive from Kansas for some warm Texas sun and hospitality. Only possible downside is the master does not have a king bed. Would highly recommend staying at this home.

I can't say enough great things about this property and the owner, Lisa. While the pictures are excellent they can't tell the whole story. This house is tucked away off the major road putting you in quiet hillside nook overlooking a wooded valley from the back deck which great place to watch the sunset. The house is well furnished, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals. This place has all the things you look for in an out of the way getaway. Only 20-30 mins to Austin, but honestly we prefered to stay near the house. Plenty of places to eat nearby. I also can't say enough about the owner Lisa. I have been using Airbnb, VRBO and Homeaway for years and I can honestly say communicating with Lisa has been the best of all the places we have stayed. Her replies to any of my questions were very prompt, usually right away. She was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely stay here anytime I visit Austin!

Beautiful wedding

Our daughter was married at villa Antonia just a short few miles away. We spent the week here at the cabin and all I can say is that it was a beautiful peaceful and delightful place to stay!! We even sighted the elusive Texas Ringtail that came to visit one evening from the deck. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Texas Hill country and Lake Travis. 5 plus stars.

Really enjoyed our rental. The house and the location are great if you want to get away and enjoy nature. The house has everything that is needed and you can tell that the owners put in a lot of thought into making sure the guests are comfortable. Look forward to returning after Covid, so we can enjoy some of the amenities of the resort that were closed.

Perfect Getaway

The place was is great shape and well appointed, we really enjoyed our stay. We spent the mornings on the deck drinking coffee and enjoying the view, the days on a boat on Lake Travis, and the evenings grilling on the grill. All the while the kids entertained themselves with the Nintendo Wii. Lisa and Patrick were also very helpful during our stay. 5 star for sure.

The Perfect Christmas Getaway

Our son lives in Houston and we spent last Christmas there, so this year we decided we wanted to try the Austin area and found this cabin - it was absolutely perfect. Sadly, my dad passed away the day we arrived in Texas so much of the week was spent making arrangements, etc., so we didn't have as much free time as we had hoped. But it turned out to be the perfect location for our family of 4 to "cele-grieve" as my daughter put it. Celebrating Christmas while grieving at the same time. The cabin itself is absolutely gorgeous and everything worked perfectly. We grilled steaks for dinner on Christmas! The view off the back deck is amazing. If you get the chance, this is a fantastic place to stay. You're about 30 minutes from downtown Austin, which is ok. It was an easy drive. If you go about 15 minutes down the main road there are all sorts of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Many thanks to Lisa & Scott for their wonderful hospitality!

After spending many years staying in the Hollows and enjoying what it has to offer, we decided to purchase a second home here. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have over the years.

Why they chose this property

The Hollows holds a special place in our hearts. We were married at a venue on the north side of Lake Travis in 2008 and our whole wedding party stayed here. We all had such a wonderful time. Since then we have had bachelorette parties, girl weekends and now family vacations. No matter what the occasion, the Hollows was key in creating those special memories.

What makes this property unique

Close to the city, but truly feels like an escape from the fast pace life we are all so accustomed to. The back porch, hike and bike trails, pool and lake allow you to unwind, relax, and recharge.
