The Naked Elk met our expectations and then some! Our group of 10 (9 adults and a wee one) had a fabulous time. Super close to town but since it’s on a dead end street, very tranquil. The home was tastefully remodeled and we loved all the personal touches at the cabin, and imagining all the fun memories created at this place. Rooms were spacious especially the master. We slept really well (quality bedding) and ate really well! The kitchen was well stocked with good countertop and cooking space. Would definitely recommend for groups visiting Packwood!

About the host
Hosted by Jeff & Tara Erdman
My wife Tara and I are excited to host and have our guests experience the fun of our Mt. Rainier cabin. We're big skiers, hikers, bikers, etc., and love the PNW lifestyle! Welcome!
Why they chose this property
It is very relaxing and quiet. It feels private yet is right off Highway 12, and it is easy to get to wherever you are headed, including town for dinner, groceries, or flea market fun! The trees on the property are giant, and there is so much space on our two-acre lot for kids and pets to roam under the apple trees, spot the elk coming to our property from the river at the end of the lane, or have a cozy campfire or BBQ on the back deck. For larger family reunions, the hotel across the street is the perfect place for additional guests to stay close, yet have their own space.
What makes this property unique
The rooms are spacious, and with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths, the house is big enough to fit two families without sacrificing comfort, including the huge lawn for the family to spread out and play games on lovely weather days, or often catch the elk traveling through. Apple tries to ripen around October, but the campfire pit is ready for s'mores, and there is even a view of Mt. Rainier's peak. Guests regularly comment about the comfy oversized couch in the living room, the eclectic decor, the library of books, the quality beds (Beautyrest and Sealy), and especially our well-stocked kitchen for hosting family dinners and get-togethers with friends.
