Spacious and centrally located. This historical colonial apartment home will have you imagining what it was like living over a hundred years ago. Many of the original details, including the coffered ceilings, wood floor, and fireplace surround are gleaming with character. Tall ceilings bring you into the fully renovated kitchen with modern appliances and conveniences. There are two private points of entry one in the front and one in the rear closer to the private parking in the back. l
Plenty of space for six people with two private bedrooms with queen beds and a full size pull out sofa bed. This is a first floor apartment with one and a half bathrooms, 2 bedroom, a living room, and a common dining area all with elegant traditional details. Plenty of seating spots to get some work done or relax and read a book. Even though the ceilings are really high (10') it is a 115 year old building so it's likely you will hear some footsteps from the apartments above from time to time.I hope you enjoy my place as much as I do :)
There is free shared laundry right down stairs in the basement where you'll find two washers and two dryers - **please note it is a shared laundry and not in the unit itself**
Entry through the front of the property is preferred only because we're still renovating some of the apartments in the rear of the property (there may be some construction noise during normal working hours as we put the finishing touches on)
You will have full access in the apartment; there are no locked doors or cabinets.
Interaction with Guests:
You'll receive a digital code a three days before your arrival for the front door which means that 24 hour check-in is no problem at all! Any questions and we can be reached 24 hours a day by sending us a quick message.
I'm also staying in another apartment at the property so I am close by if you need me.
I will send you a text with a link to my guidebook I'm working on before your arrival but you will also have additional information inside the apartment with contacts, transportation and other general info
Walk out the front door and 100 yards down the street brings you to a bustling corner with a jazz restaurant, Moroccan and Mexican restaurants and, of course, a delicious BBQ joint. Keep walking or take a short uber another .75 miles to Overton square, one of Memphis' most happening areas with a host of other restaurants and bars.
Head downtown the other direction in a short uber ($6) and you'll find yourself engulfed in Memphis' blues scene on the famous Beale street.
In addition to the many great eateries (which you'll find in the guidebook i'll send you) there are several parks nearby and places to relax.
Uber or Lyft are readily available and definitely the best option.
There is a trolley that runs down Madison and will bring you to downtown if you want a little more of a historic experience heading downtown.
Other Things to Note:
The apartment is part of an 8-unit apartment building although this unit does have it's private entrance in front.
There is also a shared laundry area in the basement of the building with two separate dryers and washers - please note the laundry is not in the unit itself
