The host, Larkin, was quick to respond to any questions, and he let me know that the property was ready for early check-in.The vintage home was charming and easily accessible. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and worked well. Despite the very cold weather, the house was warm and comfortable. The bedroom configurations were good for our extended family of 9.
This house was the perfect place for myself and my family. We all fit comfortably within the rooms and had plenty of space in the common areas to all gather and hang out. The house was well taken care of and had everything available that we needed to carry out day to day functions like cooking and self-care. Would recommend to a friend, and would personally visit again!
Large and comfortable home, perfect for extended family
My brothers and my own family stayed here together and had ample room to spread out and comfortably be together or apart when needed. The kitchen was amazing, the beds extremely comfy and the master en-suite was beyond expectations. Highly recommend this home for large or small families.
It was indeed a pleasant stay in comfort with exclusive amenities for a family setting. Everything with a high standard rightly placed for a group with any age. My family and friends loved their short stay wholeheartedly with a message, “Thank You “.

Lovely historic home
Property and accommodations were excellent - the inside was dirty, someone left gas on stove with a bad smell throughout the house, refrigerator and stove dirty, front porch/chairs dirty, cobwebs and back yard grass needed mowing - the VRBO hostess did fix problems but the first day was spent getting house/lawn and porch cleaning concerns addressed.

Lovely home
My friends and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate me and my friend's birthdays and go to Busch Gardens. The house was beautiful, spacious, and clean. They even left us a bottle of wine and a card for our birthdays. The beds were comfy, and the shower in the master bathroom is amazing! Overall great experience, I would definitely stay here again.

We loved hosting Julia and her guests in our home- they are welcome back anytime!
We had 11adults and 3 children. House was large enough to accommodate us all comfortably. House very clean. Modern kitchen appliances. Quick response from host when contacted.
Beautifully restored colonial home. Beds super comfy, plenty of room for 8 of us. Showers great. Can walk down to end of street to see view of water. Thermostats are set so if you need them adjusted please let hosts know ahead of time.

Thank you for review. We are so happy you enjoyed your visit! The thermostat are Nest thermostats so they just simply need to be turned on the dial to adjust the settings- we will make sure we add instructions for future guests!
We have stayed many times in Williamsburg area over the past 40 years and can say, we found this as the most ideal place to stay that is outside the tourist strip and close enough to Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country where a short 30 minute drive put us where we wanted to be.
This is an old house that is well maintained. We currently live in a 200 year old house and appreciate all of the character that an old house brings.
We couldn't have asked for a better space to celebrate a bridesmaids/bridal bachelorette weekend than Serene retreat. We kept finding little nice extras like an actual sauna we weree sad we didn't use, and the amenities were amazing! I want to take the mattresses home with me! Beautiful town, perfect location for adventuring, gorgeous house. Better than the pictures! Thank you!

Convenient spot
This was a very convenient spot for our large family to stay while visiting Williamsburg. There were a few items that did not meet our expectations such as the surrounding location and cleanliness. However we were delighted with the large kitchen and multiple bathrooms. We all enjoyed beautiful 25min. drive into Williamsburg from this property.
What a beautiful family getaway setting from the moment you stepped on that large front porch with a swing and rocking chairs. It was so inviting before you even opened the front door. Our family of 13 enjoyed walking to the quaint little town and the river. The location was incredibly convenient and just a short drive to theme parks and historic sites. We enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood as well. We were so impressed with quick communication from the owner and easy check in/ check out information. The house was spotless with a well stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook. Bathrooms were total luxury and the mattresses were beyond comfortable. Plenty of street parking. From start to finish everything about our stay far exceeded our expectation. We would all highly recommend this charming retreat.
Overall, this was a great property. There were ten of us who stayed and there was ample room to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. We did have two concerns that seem an easy fix. The first is, there were large mousetraps all over the house. We did find droppings on the kitchen counter. Never saw any mice, but the traps left us feeling a little uneasy. The second issue was the front porch. It was in need of a power wash. A layer of dirt covered most of the furniture and cobwebs were abundant. Those are very minimal issues and easy to rectify. But I thought it was worth mentioning as my group talked a lot about both those issues. For the cost of our stay, it seemed like a porch we didn’t have to clean off to sit and enjoy would have been a given.
This was a beautiful vintage home. All the amenities listed were there. Ample room to accommodate the 10 in our family. Communication with the owner was fast and easy. We had a couple of questions and he got back to us right away. Nice restaurant and bakery just a short walk away. It was a good 4 days in this home.
We were looking for a place for family members to stay, while attending our daughter's wedding, in the very small town of West Point, Va. To our surprise a house, suitable for ten guests, appeared on VRBO. What a find! The house, in the downtown section, completely renovated and modernized, was within walking distance of restaurants and attractions. At one point, ten family members were staying and it was wonderful to have large rooms to gather and visit. Although there was not much cooking on our part, the kitchen had everything necessary to fix gourmet meals. Everyone commented on the comfort of the beds and how wonderful it was to have beautiful, modern showers. There was a sauna available, but wedding activities didn't leave time for that. The first day was very hot, but the A/C system was more than adequate and it was nice to have separate upstairs and downstairs controls. We suggest that the programmable thermostats be put on manual control for guests. Larkin was very quick to respond to all questions and requests, which was a real plus. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying and visiting with family, would do it again, and highly recommend this property.
We enjoyed the property. Several places around house to relax. Bathrooms were heaven! If I’m ever near West Point again I would choose this stay again.
I stayed here with 6 girlfriends for a lowkey bachelorette weekend, and it was perfect. Larkin was very communicative and helpful, and the check in process couldn’t have been easier. The house itself is beautiful, well-appointed, and very chic. It’s located right down the street from the water, and also a short walk to an amazing restaurant called the Blue Crab. West Point is a very quiet community, so this is the perfect place to relax, lounge around the fire pit out back, and enjoy time together. My favorite part of the house was probably the bathrooms, which are all remodeled. The master bath is especially deluxe! The beds were also extremely comfortable, and the kitchen was awesome. I agree with another reviewer who said they would have appreciated curtains or window dressings on the main level—especially as a group of women, we felt self conscious about being so on display without any blinds so mostly hung out in the back/kitchen room at night. But overall we loved this house and would highly recommend. Thank you Larkin!
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely renovated old house. It is located in a small, quiet neighborhood with a short walk in three directions to the water. The porch was enjoyed by all as well as the other amenities of the house. The master bathroom is amazing! Communication with the owner was wonderful. Our only complaint would be to have curtains or something on the downstairs windows. We all felt like we were are display once the sun went down and it was uncomfortable for six women. Also there are no locks (or none that I saw) on any of the bedrooms and bathrooms except the downstairs bathroom has a latch to lock it. Not a big deal for us but might be for others. I would highly recommend this property!
